Depende de qué tarjeta tengas puedes seguir usando tu kernel compilado
manualmente... pero después tendrás que instalar algún paquete más. Y lo
más probable es que lo tengas que añadir a la lista de modulos a cargar. Si
no me acuerdo mal se añadían en /etc/mod*.d/*.verKernel
Varios ejemplos:
- ndiswrapper: este es un programa que te permite usar los drivers de tu
Wireless NIC en Linux. Yo sólo lo pondría si tu tarjeta no tiene _ningún_
driver para Linux. Por ejemplo, las tarjetas de Broadcom NO suelen tenerlo.
Ejemplos que me acuerdo (corregidme si me equivoco): LinkSys, DLink, Belkin
- madwifi: Este es el driver para tarjetas Atheros. Un ejemplo que me
acuerdo son las tarjetas de SMC.
Son los ejemplos con los que he trabajado.
Si se da alguno de estos casos ya tienes más por donde buscar.
