Review: Then the Deluge Comes (The Generations Book 2)

Then the Deluge Comes is book 2 in The Generations series by author Caryl McAdoo.

This novella begins with Lemech and Methuselah. Evil is in the land and the deluge hasn’t occurred, yet. I wish more had been expounded on Noah’s ark. In the back of the book there is a section titled, “Search the Scriptures” where it was interesting to learn the meaning of a few biblical names.

I recommend this book to fans of YA, and give this book 4/5 stars.

A Little Lower Than the Angels (Book 1~ my review)

Review: A Little Lower Than the Angels (The Generations Book 1)

A Little Lower Than the Angels is book 1 in The Generations series by author Caryl McAdoo.

I wanted to read this novella because I am interested in biblical fiction. It’s a good story if it’s read that way, because there is a lot of supposition in the story. I was looking for something with more meat. However, I believe this would be great for teens and young adults. I do look forward to continuing the series.

Give Me Thine Heart (1).jpg

About the book:

It’s 1814 and Moira Kingsley loathes the man her uncle, the Baron Tyrus Kingsley, wishes her to marry. When at her engagement party she meets Mr. Samuel Stryker, she soon guesses he’s from the American Colonies. After she stumbles onto a deep secret, Sam must make an impossible decision. Kill her or kidnap her?

Ultimately, he whisks Moira from England and she considers herself saved from a fate worse than death, especially after discovering her fiancé’s darker side. But will she be safe in the war-torn United States? However, it’s the on the voyage there that Moira learns she possesses attributes she’d never imagined existed within herself.

She also becomes increasingly aware of the man who is both her abductor and rescuer.

My Thoughts.png

Give Me Thine Heart is a historical romance novella by author Andrea Boeshaar. I am reading this ebook as part of my monthly reviews for CWA. I picked this book because I liked the cover and the title. Setting: Kingsley Manor, Periwick, England, 1814.

Moira Kingsley, a British spy, sailed to America after her missionary parents died. Her uncle arranged for her to marry a man she did not love. Her only escape was to become a spy and go to America.

I enjoyed this clean 156-page novella. One of my favorite parts was when Moira and Sam went swimming. Sam taught Moira how to float on her back. She had to learn to trust him, her spy partner. Another favorite was their mock marriage.

I love this quote found on page #135: You could never settle for a daisy when an entire flower garden lay at your disposal.

I recommend this book to fans of historical romance and spy novels.
