She’erah’s Legacy (Naomi Craig)

1. What do potential readers need to know most about the main character?

She’erah built three cities: Lower and Upper Beth-horon, and Uzzen-sheerah. She is also the granddaughter of the Old Testament Joseph.

2. Which supporting character caught your interest the most?

Lateef truly captivated my attention as a remarkable supporting character. Not only is he exceptionally kind, but his unwavering integrity shines through every aspect of his being.

3. What journey do(es) the main character(s) take?

I appreciated watching She’erah grow from the head-strong sister she was toward her brothers, Ezer and Elead, to a Child of God.

4. (for Christian fiction) Are there spiritual truths to be gleaned from the story?

“Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it… (Psalm 127:1)

5. For whom would you recommend this book?

She’erah’s Legacy is an absolute must-read for enthusiasts of Biblical fiction. Its captivating storytelling and rich historical backdrop will leave you wanting more.

6. Why did you give it the star rating you did?

She’erah’s Legacy deserves a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. This mesmerizing biblical tale shines a spotlight on a compelling yet lesser-known character, leaving readers captivated and inspired until the very last page.

7. Is the title memorable and/or emotion-grabbing?

Absolutely! It’s incredibly intriguing to discover more about She’erah.

The Woman From Lydia (The Emissaries book #1)

The Woman From Lydia is a biblical fiction novel well-written by author Angela Hunt. It is set in the Apostle Paul’s New Testament Era (AD 51). This is installment #1 of The Emissaries series.

Hector’s partner, Lucius, wants to settle down with a good wife and raise a family. Dishonorable Hector wanted to establish his fortunes. He goes so far as to dishonor a slave girl who had been set free from divination. The woman from Lydia wanted to free Sabina from Hector.

Sabina, the fortune-teller, would follow the Paulos while he preached to the people, announcing that he is preaching of El Elyon and His Son. Until Paulos set her free.

Could freeborn Euodia marry a non-citizen? Could she shake off the conventions she’d been taught since childhood? Could she marry in name only, for her protection?

A quote I liked: “Everything in life depended on who you chose to serve.”

I also appreciated the Author’s Note at the back of the book because it answered some pressing questions. There is also a reference guide at the back of the book.

The Woman From Lydia would make a great book study since it tells about the way of Salvation. I give The Woman From Lydia 5*/5*.

Daughter of Eden (Eve)

Daughter of Eden is a biblical fiction novel by author Jill Eileen Smith. It is the story of Eve.

The novel begins with the angels Michael and Gabriel conversing with Adonai Elohim, as the Ancient of Days creates the world. Speaking the world into existence, and forming Adam and Eve. He placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. It was a time when God called everything good.

I was living vicariously through Eve as I read how she might have felt and the things she might have seen. Even though I know the Bible story about Adam and Eve, Ms. Smith brings it to life in general terms. I was tearful when Satan deceived the very apple of the Ancient of Days.

I could say so much more but I don’t want to spoil it for the reader. So I recommend Daughter of Eden to fans of biblical fiction because you’ll fall in love with the beginning of all time. I give Daughter of Eden 5*/5*. Ms. Smith is an author I have put on my author watch list.

Whirlwind (Whispers On The Wind ~ Book Two) Review

Whirlwind is a Christian historical fiction written by author Dana McNeely. Whirlwind is installment #2 in the Whispers On The Wind series.

Miriam is set to marry Gershon and gain a husband and guardianship of his son. She will be well cared for. King Ahab is preparing for battle.

Scripture: Meanwhile a prophet came to Ahab king of Israel and announced, “This is what the Lord says:’ Do you see this vast army? I will give it into your hand today, and then you will know that I am the Lord’.” (I Kings 20:13)

Ms. McNeely did an excellent job placing the reader in the times of kings. The chapters are short and split between Dov and Miriam. If the reader is looking for a slow read this is the book.

I give Whirlwind 3*/5*.

MY THOUGHTS:

Dead Sea Conspiracy is an inspirational suspense novel by author Jerry B. Jenkins. Dead Sea Conspiracy is installment #2 of The Dead Sea Chronicles.

Dead Sea Conspiracy is a time-slip novel between Terah in Ancient UR and Archaeologist Nicole Berman in present-day Saudi Arabia.

I appreciated participating vicariously in an archaeological dig through Nicole Berman’s team. I also liked walking with Terah as he came to know God, and left behind his people’s gods.

I hope there will be the third installment because installment #2 has left me hanging. I recommend Dead Sea Conspiracy to fans of biblical fiction. I give Dead Sea Conspiracy 4*/5*.

Dead Sea Rising (Book 1 ~ my review)

Miriam’s Song (Heart of a King)(Jill Eileen Smith)

Miriam’s Song is a biblical fiction novel by Jill Eileen Smith. It is a well-written story about Aaron, Miriam, and Moses.

Miriam’s Song is more about Moses than it is about Miriam. That’s probably because not much is written about her in the Bible. The author did use poetic license and had Miriam married with children.

I was hoping to read more about Miriam but I would still highly recommend Miriam’s Song to fans of biblical fiction.

RAIN (Whispers on the Wind ~ Book One) Review

RAIN by author Dana McNeely kept me enamored for hours. Now I want to go read I & II Kings in the Bible. RAIN is a story that features Aban, Elijah, and Jezebel.

A well-written, emotional novel by a debut author. I look forward to reading more by author Dana McNeely.
