Compact weather-resistant design
This compact, easy-to-carry DSLR is designed for all types of outdoor photography. It features dustproof, weather-resistant construction with 100 seals throughout the body and outstanding cold-proof performance at temperatures down to 14°F (-10°C).
Optical view finder
With an approximately 100% field of view and nearly 0.95-times magnification, the PENTAX KF’s optical viewfinder provides a large, clear view of the subject for quick, easy confirmation of focusing and framing.
Excellent operability
Built with the photographer in mind, the grip, control buttons on the back panel and mode dials are contoured to offer optimum comfort and operability, even when wearing gloves.
Vari-angle LCD monitor
The PENTAX KF’s vari-angle LCD monitor allows you to position it at any desired angle, making image composition easier in a variety of Live View outdoor shooting applications, such as high-angle shooting using stretched arms or low-angle.

Double e-dials

An array of customization tools
You can customize the PENTAX KF’s operation to your shooting preferences by assigning desired functions to the set of buttons, including the Fx1 and Fx2 buttons, and three USER Mode positions on the Mode dial.
CMOS image sensor with 24.24 effective megapixels
The APS-C size CMOS image sensor with approximately 24.24 effective megapixels and high-speed 14-bit image data readout, combined with an AA-filter-free optical design, enables the PENTAX KF to deliver super-high-resolution images.
PRIME MII imaging engine and new accelerator unit
The PENTAX KF couples a high-performance accelerator unit with the high-speed PRIME MII imaging engine, effectively minimizing noise at all sensitivity levels and capturing richly gradated, fine-detailed images, even at its top sensitivity of ISO 102400.

In-body SR (Shake Reduction) mechanism
The PENTAX KF features the PENTAX-original, in-body SR (Shake Reduction) mechanism with a compensation effect of 4.5 shutter steps. It works effectively with all PENTAX interchangeable lenses — from ultra-wide-angle to super-telephoto models
Pixel Shift Resolution System
By taking advantage of the SR (Shake Reduction) mechanism, this innovative system captures four images of the same scene by shifting the image sensor by a single pixel for each image, then synthesizing them into a single composite image.
Astrotracer
By mounting the optional O-GPS2 GPS unit, the PENTAX KF provides an automatic tracking function in astronomical photography. The camera calculates the movement of celestial bodies based on GPS data obtained by the unit, then shifts its image sensor in synchronization with their movement.
Wireless LAN function
The PENTAX KF provides a set of wireless LAN functions* to support operations using mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. Since you can transfer captured images instantly to the mobile devices, you can enjoy them away from the camera.
