Health Advice

Taking a break this week from the usual rants and mutterings that I call poems but, in the mean time, please feel free to check out my links below if you find yourself longing for those old words or in the mood for some more Monday mischief.
Well, as always, here’s to hoping your day flies right on by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.

The Secret To My Failure

(or, as I like to call it, Lies That Books Told Me)
It isn’t that I’m not eager or that
I shy away from
(hard) work,
It’s just that I’m 90% incompetent
and 10% a jerk,
bitter,
running off ambitions and
the dying steam of dreams,
jaded from my memories
and all the lies that books
told to me:
-Things get bad, but the good guys always
wins
-the villains always laugh but they’ll
go down in the end
-That, in a hallway full of walls,
a door would open up for me
-that people might wave but, in the end,
good is what they’ll be
-That,if you get lost, something awesome is
waiting out there for you
-And, most loathed of all, the world’s a good place if your
heart remains true

Well, there you have it folks. Figured it’s Monday so I might as well be on the level with everyone else who is suffering on through. Just a little tidbit of myself and how I rose to this illustrious position that I am now, bringing you little scraps of myself in hopes that we can all just keep on going and pull on through.
As always: here’s to hoping your day flies right on by and that you’ve got something cold and on the rocks waiting for you when you get home tonight.

Partners In Crime

My feet hit, a brisk hiss
at the cold of a tile
floored kitchen
I’m waiting, here at the
coffee machine,
wondering,
mind on a mission
to
deduce the cause,
solve this mystery
to start with and
identify
the players in this
crime,
to figure it out
I rely
on the familiar,
the trite
who,
what,
when,
where,
why
me,
regrets,
everyday,
here,
ill-prepared for life
and
you,
read,
now,
here
to kill time, commiserate, feel alive.

Some of us are working, some of us are off- It’s the usual Monday madhouse around here. Thought I might further add to the madness with a new poem above, as promised. It’s a fancy way of saying that you wake up in the morning and wonder how the the hell your life got to this. Well, for most folks at least. For me? I’m just glad I’ve got you along for the ride right there with me.
Thanks for stopping on by.

Back To Full Steam

…Or scream, in most our cases.
If you’re on the same schedule as me, it means you’re back to your first full week of the year at work. My condolences.
Poems will start back up next week but, till then, I though I’d post a link to my previous posts below. If you’re looking for a little extra ‘I have no shits left to give’ motivation, be sure to visit my Pinterest board below- you’ll find yourself in good company.
