## What nowledge-mem does, in the publisher's words

Portable Agent Plugins package for clients that implement the Agent Plugins 1.0 standard.

Use this package when your AI client supports Agent Plugins but does not have a dedicated Nowledge Mem connector yet. If a native connector exists for your tool, install that first: native connectors can add lifecycle hooks, host-specific setup, and real transcript import that a portable package cannot guarantee.

- plugin.json using the Agent Plugins 1.0 manifest schema
- mcp.json registering the local Nowledge Mem Streamable HTTP MCP endpoint
- Shared Nowledge Mem skills for startup context, recall, distillation, status checks, and handoff summaries

From the project README, punctuation lightly normalized. Full text: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nowledge-co/community/HEAD/nowledge-mem-agent-plugin/README.md

## Skills

- check-integration: Check Nowledge Mem setup, detect your agent, and guide native connector setup. Use when the user asks about setup, configuration, or when memory tools aren't working as expected.
- distill-memory: Capture breakthrough moments and valuable insights as searchable memories in your knowledge base.
- explore-graph
- read-working-memory: Read your daily Working Memory briefing to understand current context. Contains active focus areas, priorities, unresolved flags, and recent knowledge changes. Load this automatically at the beginning of sessions for cross-tool continuity.
- save-handoff: Save a concise handoff summary only when the user explicitly requests it. Use this for resumable progress notes in generic agent environments where a real session importer is not guaranteed.
- save-thread: Deprecated compatibility skill. In portable Agent Plugins environments this must degrade honestly to a resumable handoff, because real transcript-backed thread import is not guaranteed. Prefer save-handoff here, and use native connectors when you need actual session capture.
- search-memory: Search your personal knowledge base when past insights would improve response. Recognize when stored breakthroughs, decisions, or solutions are relevant. Search proactively based on context, not just explicit requests.
- status: Check Nowledge Mem connection status, server version, CLI version, and configuration. Use when diagnosing issues or verifying setup.

Descriptions come from the frontmatter of each SKILL.md, punctuation lightly normalized.
