SK bioscience has submitted a Clinical Trial Application in South Africa for a global Phase 1b trial of RSM01, an RSV preventive antibody candidate licensed from the Gates Medical Research Institute. World Health Organization and Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) have signed a three-year agreement to expand access to mental health care in Jordan and Nepal through 2028. The partnership will strengthen counselling and secondary mental health services in Jordan, while Nepal will establish psychosocial support mental health corners in 10 district hospitals and expand support for young people through its school mental health framework. 🗣️Arvinder Pal Singh said, “I am proud to see Lions helping reduce stigma, raise awareness, and expand access to care in communities around the world.” 🗣️Dr Mark van Ommeren “The treatment gap for people living with mental health conditions can be over 95% in some countries. World Health Organization has warned that attacks on healthcare have consequences far beyond immediate casualties, disrupting essential services, damaging facilities and preventing patients from receiving care. In northwest Syria, outpatient consultations fell by 51% following attacks, while 37% of healthcare facilities in Sudan were reported non-functional in 2026. WHO has also verified attacks affecting healthcare during the ongoing Ebola response in the DRC. WHO is calling for stronger protection of healthcare workers and facilities, alongside greater accountability, to ensure communities can continue accessing essential care. 🗣️Altaf S. The Quadripartite collaboration on One Health — FAO, United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), World Health Organization and World Organisation for Animal Health — has agreed to extend the One Health Joint Plan of Action (OH JPA) through 2029, providing countries with greater continuity to advance shared One Health priorities. Zoetis has announced that Simparica Trio has received Emergency Use Authorization from the U.S. FDA for treating New World screwworm larvae infestations in dogs and puppies.
