How should our industry behave when nobody is looking? In the latest issue of Campaign Middle East, our CEO, Tarek Miknas, reflects on his experience serving on the Creative Business Transformation Jury at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity - but the conversation goes far beyond awards. Drawing on lessons from Cannes and examples of leadership beyond our industry, Tarek explores - through the lens of three defining values: integrity, generosity and bravery - why the future of creativity in our region won't be defined by competition alone, but by how we collaborate, how generously we share knowledge, and how bravely we raise the standard together. This one feels like a real milestone. One of my goals when I started shooting food professionally was to photograph a McDonald’s campaign that would end up on billboards. The shoot itself took one day, but it came after several years of work and preparation, so seeing that happen across Dubai now feels pretty surreal. For the World Menu Heist campaign, I photographed five of the seven products featured in the UAE rollout. Here are a few of the finished campaign visuals, media placements and behind-the-scenes moments from the shoot. The shoot required precise control of lighting and perspective to match the existing global campaign assets and ensure the newly photographed products integrated seamlessly within the final range artwork. A huge thanks to the production and creative team who brought it all together: Production: Concept View Media , Hanan Khlaif , Len Lebarić , Luke M. Agency: FP7 McCann : Francesco Negri , Karim Takieddine , Anton Stolpovsky , Farah S. Food Styling: Chloe Ride Assistance and BTS Arkodeb Mukherjee and everyone else involved. WE LOVE OUR INTERNS!!
No one told this generation to play it safe, and we're glad they didn't. At this year's MCN Internship Graduation, interns from across our agencies shared their journey, celebrated their achievements, and reflected on what they've learned with their mentors and leaders. One thing stood out to everyone in the room: their confidence. They weren't afraid to speak up, challenge ideas, or bring fresh perspectives to every conversation. A generation that challenges the status quo is exactly what keeps our industry moving forward. Congratulations again to our interns. We're rooting for you! 🎓🩵 FP7 McCann MENAT | MullenLowe MENA | Momentum McCann American University in Dubai | Middlesex University Dubai | Istituto Marangoni | American University of Sharjah Ghassan Harfouche, Mohamad Haidar, Ricarda Ruecker, Mounir Harfouche, Tarek Miknas, Tarek Ali Ahmad, Taha K., Roy Sebastian, Dani Zaldumbide, Anton Stolpovskii, Francesco Negri, Diego Fernández-Cid, Caline Haddad, Jonathan Cruz, Bruno Montoro, Nayaab Rais, Reshad Mohideen, Savannah Fernandes, Seif Yasser, Shirley Sarrouh, Roksar Kamal, Lea El khaouli, Maha Nadar, Dalya S., Rohit Rathore, Dina Faour, chantal bachour, Amina Amrouni, Tatiana Khalife, Tamara Nabhan, Yasma Ladki, Aayushi Ramakrishnan, Waleed Mansoor, Anne Arce #MCNAgencies #SummerInternship #FutureTalent

I knew the New York Festivals Executive Jury was going to be different when Madame President Andrea opened by saying our goal wasn't just to judge. It was to have fun. Turns out, she was right. Highlights: • Fell in love with a chicken called Chicky. (Thanks, Grabmart.) • Added "muy estúpido" to my vocabulary (Thanks Gabi <3). • Judged approximately 4,372 sheep, sheep-inspired, sheep-centered and sheep-adjacent ideas. • Accidentally found two sisters in Gabriela and Andrea. (Thank you Lara for telling me about them) • Finally met someone I've looked up to for years. Thank you, Suzanne, for inspiring me to finally write about the most difficult experiences. • Laughed my head off thanks to the comedy stylings of Michael Aimette and Dave Bowman. • Had the kind of conversations that only happen when you're surrounded by people whose careers have shaped our industry. Thank you to the enlightened jurors: Damasia Merbilhàa Amy Carvajal Tanja Grubner Richard Brim Juliana Cobb Kristin Faucher Allison Pierce Erica Roberts Gabriel Schmitt Doerte Spengler-Ahrens Kwame Taylor-Hayford. And of course, huge thanks to Scott Rose and Ellen Smyth (and the entire NYF team <3) for creating one of the most inspiring jury experiences I've had. Watching the work in a beautiful little theatre at the iconic Crosby Hotel, instead of on another iPad, gave every piece the real estate and attention it deserved. Scott's opening presentation on what it means to judge with a New York lens took me back to my time in this confusingly magical city. It made me realize I'd experienced New York before, but I'd never really judged work through its lens. I came for the work. Alhamdulillah, I left with new friends, far too many sheep references...and a lifelong love for Chicky (IYKYK). FP7 McCann MCN | Middle East Communications Network

The best portfolios don't always belong to the loudest people in the room. As part of our 2026 Summer Internship programme, we welcomed our 2026 Summer Interns for a Meet & Greet with our Managing Director, Tarek Ali Ahmad, and Executive Creative Director, Nayaab Rais What followed wasn't a presentation - it was an honest conversation. From building a career in advertising and the lessons they'd tell their younger selves, to navigating an industry being reshaped by AI, the discussion centred on one thing: the importance of staying curious. While tools, technology, and platforms will continue to evolve, curiosity, resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to keep learning remain the qualities that truly shape great careers. Thank you to Tarek and Nayaab for sharing their experiences so openly, and to our brilliant interns for bringing thoughtful questions, fresh perspectives, and infectious enthusiasm. Here’s to a summer of exciting industry learnings - and, hopefully, the beginning of many rewarding careers in our industry. "The best ideas are always rooted in #TruthWellTold" That was the question at the heart of a recent session led by our Regional Chief Creative Officer, Federico Fanti, with our interns. Titled "How to Create Culture, Not Ads," the session explored what separates work that simply fills media space from ideas that become part of conversations, communities, and culture. Drawing on campaigns and lessons from across his career, Federico unpacked the principles behind creating work that people choose to engage with - ideas rooted in human truth, designed to earn attention rather than demand it, and built to leave a lasting impact beyond the campaign itself. One of the biggest takeaways? Don't let AI become your imagination. Use it as a tool, not a substitute. The best ideas still begin the old-fashioned way: with curiosity, observation, sketching, scribbling, asking questions, making mistakes, and engaging all five senses to experience the world before trying to recreate it.
