I am grateful to the Air Cargo Update for the cover story on how we are accelerating the future of intelligent air cargo, and I would like to congratulate them on their 25th anniversary. I am also sharing a second photograph - backstage :), taken a moment we took the cover shot during International Air Transport Association (IATA) ONE Record hackathon in Hong Kong, a window over the HKG airport, and Awery Team with phones. The view behind me on the cover is exactly what was outside that window. Recognition of this kind belongs to a company rather than to a person, and this photograph is a fair reminder of why. The latest figures from WorldACD Market Data show a -4% drop in global tonnage in week 32 (3 to 9 August) compared with the prior week, with single-digit percentage contraction out of all origins. Volume fell -6% out of the Middle East and South Asia (MESA), followed by contraction of -4% from Europe and North America. Tonnage from Asia Pacific slipped -3% week-on-week (WoW), while Africa and Central & South America (CSA) registered -2% declines.
