Digital Accessibility

Digital Accessibility

We are a dedicated team committed to making USC’s digital spaces inclusive for everyone. From procurement to web accessibility, remediation, and education. We work across campus to address digital barriers and support equal access for all.

Our goal is simple: build a culture where accessibility is a shared responsibility that is at the core of our design and purchasing decisions.

What we do

  • Assess risk of, and advise on, digital purchases to ensure accessibility compliance.
  • Provide access to accessibility assessments for websites, apps, and documents
  • Advise on remediation efforts across platforms and content types
  • Curate resources and facilitate training to build accessibility awareness and skills
  • Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards
  • Monitor and support ongoing accessibility improvements
  • Advocate for inclusive design in all digital initiatives
  • Together, we’re driving change—one accessible experience at a time.

Digital Accessibility Statement

In furtherance of its unifying value of Community, the University of Southern California is committed to making its digital environment and content accessible to individuals with disabilities so that they have access to the university’s programs. Please email digitalaccessibility@usc.edu or Report an Accessibility Barrier if you experience an accessibility barrier that prevents your access to a program or service.

What makes a digital resource accessible?

The term ‘accessible’ means that a person with disability can acquire information, engage in interactions, and enjoy services in an equal and integrated manner.

Digital resources are any hardware, software, product, content, or application being created, utilized, or stored. This includes, but is not limited to, websites and web applications, software and operating systems, mobile apps, online course materials, digital signage and kiosks, and digital content including animations, audio, video, images, and electronic documents.

Our Commitment

USC’s preferred digital accessibility standard is WCAG 2.1 AA. USC is committed to digital accessibility and continues to focus on the following measures to create an inclusive culture.

We implement accessibility by:

Including accessibility throughout our internal policies.

Integrating accessibility into our procurement processes.

Appointing accessibility coordinators.

Providing continual accessibility training for our staff.

Assigning clear accessibility targets and responsibilities.
