Data er indsamlet med henblik p\u00e5 at dokumentere havbundens beskaffenhed og fastl\u00e6gge ydergr\u00e6nsen af kontinentalsoklen i henhold til de regler, der er givet i <a href=\"https:\/\/round-lake.dustinice.workers.dev:443\/https\/www.un.org\/depts\/los\/clcs_new\/continental_shelf_description.htm#definition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Havretskonventionens artikel 76.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rundt omkring Gr\u00f8nland arbejdede Kontinentalsokkelprojektet i tre havomr\u00e5der som ligger syd, nord\u00f8st og nord for Gr\u00f8nland. P\u00e5 grund af de meget forskellige is- og vejrforhold, kunne indsamlingen af de n\u00f8dvendige videnskabelige data for omr\u00e5det syd for Gr\u00f8nland allerede afsluttes i 2009, mens den sidste ekspedition nord for Gr\u00f8nland blev gennemf\u00f8rt i 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Analysen af de forskellige datatyper tog yderligere tid, men i 2012 kunne en taskforce under formandskab af GEUS afslutte den videnskabelige dokumentation vedr\u00f8rende sokkelomr\u00e5det udenfor 200 s\u00f8milegr\u00e6nsen syd for Gr\u00f8nland og aflevere den til Kommissionen for Kontinentalsoklens Gr\u00e6nser (CLCS).<\/p>\n<p>Herefter fortsatte taskforcen sit arbejde i omr\u00e5det nord\u00f8st for Gr\u00f8nland, og den dokumentation som tilh\u00f8rte kravet p\u00e5 kontinentalsokkel udenfor 200 s\u00f8mil, blev afleveret til CLCS i 2013. Efterf\u00f8lgende kunne taksforcen koncentrere sig om omr\u00e5det nord for Gr\u00f8nland som det sidste og med 895.000 km2 arealm\u00e6ssigt st\u00f8rste kravomr\u00e5de. CLCS modtog den n\u00f8dvendige dokumentation vedr\u00f8rende dette omr\u00e5de den 15.december 2014.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<div  class='hr av-55gl6-c08332a99c06fb66c275ea0592114dd7
