
Have you been wanting to try the San Francisco Bay Ferry’s Richmond Route to commute to work? We’re offering 10 free trips (5 round trips) to those who qualify. Recipients will receive free tickets through the SF Bay Ferry app, which can be downloaded for iOS and Android.

Am I eligible?
You are eligible to receive this promotion if you:
- Live in, work in, or travel through West Contra Costa County (Richmond, San Pablo, El Cerrito, Hercules, Pinole, and unincorporated areas) for your commute
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Would otherwise drive alone to/from an employment location if this incentive program were not available, and
- Agree to complete a brief questionnaire to assess the effectiveness of this program
How Does it Work?
After you apply, we will review your application. If you qualify, we’ll send you an email with information on how to receive your tickets through the SF Bay Ferry app. Once you download the app, we will load your free trips to your account – which is associated with the email address you provide. (This may take a couple of days.)
- One incentive per person and per household
- If you have received any 511 Contra Costa promotion or program incentives from July 1 – June 30 of this fiscal year (2025-2026) you are not eligible to receive this incentive
- SF Bay Ferry app is required to receive the passes – it can be downloaded in the iOS and Android stores
- For work commute trips only
- Free passes are for the Richmond – San Francisco route only
- Tickets are good for 90 days after they are deposited in your account
- 511 Contra Costa may request verification of the information you provide
- Falsifying any information will disqualify you from al 511 Contra Costa programs and promotions
- 511 Contra Costa reserves the right to make any changes to or to terminate this program at any time without prior notification.

Getting to the Ferry
- Bus – The Richmond Ferry Terminal is served by the AC Transit 74 line
- Bike – BikeLink operates 24 secure bike lockers at the Richmond Ferry Terminal
- Electric Bike Share – Today offers an eBike Share service at the Richmond Ferry Terminal
- On-Demand Shuttle – Richmond Moves operates a commute-hours shuttle for only $2 per trip (free for students and seniors)
