“You”
I am listening to the night.
I am still trying to find you.
I hear the music.
I hear you.
I am listening to you.
You always sound the same.
You always smell the same.
You lick the back of my neck.
You can have me.
I can’t control how much I want you.
Your limbs drape over mine at night.
And I don’t even need a blanket to stay warm.
When looking at you from below, it’s hard to believe you are real.
You can have me.

Exquisite Corpse
My friends and I did an exquisite corpse, which is considered a collection of words or images that is assembled by a collective group. We folded the paper so that you could not see what the person before had drawn. I think the different interpretations of the “body” of this monster is interesting.
This weekend, a door in my house broke. It was kind of chaotic. The two images above are the door before and after.
This is a conversation written entirely in Blackberry Messenger emoticons. I was inspired to “write” this based on conversations that I have had in the past with friends in which we only used the smiley faces and other symbols. Specifically, on my birthday this year I broke the keyboard of my phone and was stuck only using the emoticons to communicate. For example, if someone sent me “Happy Birthday,” I would respond with a smile or thumbs up. The images become replacement for the words but I think it’s possible to glean the meaning.
