I have found the paradox that if I love until it hurts, then there is no hurt, but only more love. ~ Mother Teresa

Love Letter No 69 - Retro Love

Dear P,
Tee shirts, torn jeans, sandals, beads, bracelets, earrings, all the trappings of days gone by are unnoticed as wide-eyed affection dominates. The intensity of tie dyed rainbows bursting open on display represents all the colors of life we share. Bangles were enough, matching toe rings too, kept rapt attention focused on what will never be forgotten.
Rubik's cubes, hula hoops, art deco, fads drop in and fashions change, this little boat floats on through every storm. And then that next kiss takes us back to the first one, retro love, alive and kicking.
With deep and tender affection,
LarryG

Wedding Lullaby

for Kev and Em
(sung slowly)
tur-a-lur-uh-lai-lah-lo
tur-a-lur-uh-lee
place your hand in mine
my love
join your heart with me
tur-a-lur-uh-lai-lah-lo
tur-a-lur-uh-lee
place your head on my shoulder
my love
'tis given this heart to thee
tur-a-lur-uh-lai-lah-lo
tur-a-lur-uh-lee
take this ring today
my love
forever shared with me

broken
in the midst of a broken moment - in the space of a broken hour
in the width of a broken day - in the depth of a broken week
in the expanse of a broken month - in the gulf of a broken year
in the eternity of a broken life
don't try to fix this again on your own,
don't try to patch or repair what's been done,
don't limp along with self-wisdom alone,
healing comes when the spirit is whole
healing comes let the spirit be whole
in the grasp of a broken hand - in the limp of a broken leg
in the bosom of a broken breast - in the brace of a broken heart
in the crack of a broken smile - in the pain of a broken emotion
in the eternity of a broken life
don't try to fix this again on your own,
don't try to patch or repair what's been done,
don't limp along with self-wisdom alone,
healing comes when the spirit is whole
healing comes let the spirit be whole

critical activity - remix #4

loves soft expression - how gentle it wears
on the ear it lights - beautiful touching and fresh
soaks in with loveliness - good feelings mesh
a soulmate or partner - a friend or a child
the stout and strong - the meek and mild
intuition speaks volumes - pass it along
saying "I love you" - never goes wrong
just free the expression - allow words to bless
tends to connection - cures small or big mess
make this a beginning - trust loves saturation
let a sharing contagion - bring a new revelation
I have challenged myself to refine, rewrite, and rework something I have done in the past once a week. This is a Monday feature for this year.

Not Going Back

an early fall to difficulties
leaves one feeling all alone
reality shakes the outer shell
rattles completely to the bone
Extracting love's idyllic dream
smashing, crushing words leave shards
killing the soul, puts imagination in chains
withdraws all potent winning cards
Long does hope's glimmer shine
fend darkness til light snuffed out
the fight for air, life's fundamental
the greatest struggle ever, break free
or die with muted shout.

Love Letter No 11 - Surprising Love
Dear U,
You surprise me every day. How you reach out to me! You touch my heart each time you glance my way.And then I glance back and realize a marvelous, wonderful surprise has happened.
Even if our love should die, we would find it resurrected in the passion of our lives together.
Yes! Love started this whole thing working, a fabulous “love relationship”, and now through our time together the relationship marks us with love.
What was made alive by love is the very thing keeping our love alive. Surprise!
I’ve shared my soul with you, let’s share this love together. Intermingled is the “most beautiful surprise”, Love.

what an embrace can do

The chatty breeze nodded to the starry-eyed moon, awestruck, as the dusk cloaked embrace and kiss sated longing and affirmed belonging.
