September 2021 Misc Pics

Enjoy the September 2021 installment of misc pics and videos. These are all the pictures and videos that don't get their own post, mixed together each month. Enjoy!

9-1-21. I got my sub license. It's currently the only way I can get into the schools. It took forever to get but it's finally done. Let's see what subbing is all about, huh?

My first sub gig was a 3rd grade class. The teacher took a few days off for some mental health. She never came back. I was in this classroom for about a month. I felt so bad for the kids so I jumped in and tried my best to be the best for them. Talk about baptism by fire! I hadn't been in the classroom (as the teacher) since I taught elementary music before having children. It had been a minute! I had a sweet little class of kids and got to teach right next door to Levi so we could enjoy recess together.
9-3-21. Levi at recess. You don't have to wear your mask at recess. But, Levi likes to hide. He likes not getting attention or focus put on him. I think it's so incredibly sad. I hope to help him make the decision to show his handsome smile soon.
9-4-21. This girl was hungry!
9-4-21. This hilarious niece of mine makes me laugh so much. She is so spunky. I love you Zoey!
9-5-21. Another Sunday selfie. It's just so weird. I can't wait to be done with the mask!
9-14-21. Did you know there are roosters in our neighborhood? I have heard them for years but hadn't seen them until recently. They are always at the bus stop waiting for my boys.
9-18-21. Cora and Conley auditioned for MS Honor Choir. Unfortunately Cora didn't make it this time. Conley not only made it, he was selected as the tenor section leader. That means he had the top score of all tenors in the whole zone that auditioned. No big deal.
9-21-21. Coulson and Sydney shared a wonderful announcement with the family. Wahoo!!!!!! I am going to be a Grand Aunt! How awesome is that? Sydney and Coulson are going to be the BEST parents.
9-22-21. Jamison and Bradley auditions for the HS honor choir. They both made it. I am so proud of them.

Go Cougs!

Hayleigh is attending BYU. She had some issues with her car and needed her mom to come help. So they invited the girls and me to come along. What a BLAST that was! We arrived late Friday night, did some Provo sight-seeing and went to the game Saturday night. It was so much fun. Thanks for the invite Hayleigh. We love BYU! Glad your car got fixed! Here are some pictures from our weekend, mostly the awesome game. Go Cougs!

BYU vs. Arizona

BYU and Arizona met up at the Allegiant Stadium for the Vegas Kickoff Classic. We were so excited to attend the game! There were 54.5 thousand fans in attendance, setting a new record for the most attended college football game in Nevada. It was just the icing on the cake that the Cougars won 24-16. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the night.

Beer sales were down during this game.

Megan was particularly upset when one of the Cougar players, Keenen Ellis got hurt. He was on the ground for 20 minutes and left in a stretcher. He will be out for the season. Megan was a bit distraught. She struggles with things like this. I mean we all do right, but I am writing this post 11 months after the fact and I showed Megan some pictures from the night. She said, "Oh yeah, that was the game that the player got really badly hurt," as she put her head down getting sad all over again. Megan feels things so deeply.

Zac Wilson cheering on his Alma Mater.

What a fun anniversary present for Loren and Sonya. They have been married 17 years today.
Great game, great arena, great fans, great night.

Bye Bye Camry

We got the dreaded phone call. Bradley called me on the way home from work and told me that he had been in a car accident. He had called 911 already. He said he went to see if the other driver was okay and she started yelling and screaming at him. I told him to go away from her, not say another word, and we would be there as quick as we could. The accident wasn't his fault, he walked away with very minor injuries, the car was totaled and that lady didn't get to talk to Bradley again once the police arrived. From the minute the phone rang until the minute I had him back in our home I had the comforting protection of the Holy Ghost. I knew he was okay before I even got to him. I am so thankful for so many things that happened and didn't happen that night.

Sweet Cora was the only one that was awake when we left to get Bradley. She fell asleep at the top of the stairs waiting for us. She was so worried about Bradley. She is such a protector.
This photo was taken earlier that day before Bradley's work shift. He asked if he could take the Camry instead and we could deal with the leak later. What a huge, huge, huge tender mercy that turned out to be. Bradley's car is older, smaller, lower to the ground and not as safe. Chances are that if he had been driving his car during that accident he would have been injured far worse. I am so thankful he was protected.
We went from three cars to two on Thursday morning, then to two cars Thursday night. Then Friday my truck broke down. Look at the lug nuts holding that tire on! We are so blessed, even though we went to zero cars in a matter of about 36 hours. The accidents or potential for accidents could have been so much worse. I am so thankful! But, it's time for a little car thinking/shopping in the Vidal home!
