Sun and Cloud

I took this photo yesterday, when we were out for our morning walk.

It was a glorious sight to see the sun illuminating the sky, atop that huge fluffy cloud.

A Tale of Two Photos

Tree branches

The photo at the top is how things looked here this morning. It was very sunny. However, by the afternoon, it was windy and overcast.

The photo at the bottom was taken yesterday morning. It was a rainy morning. However, by the early afternoon, it had turned beautifully sunny.

These two pictures have reminded me that change is a part of life. It's inevitable. Life is a continually unfolding story.

I hope that you have a good day wherever you are.

Thursday Sunset

I took the picture above on Thursday evening.

The sunset was so beautiful.

It made me feel like I was gazing at something special.

I was.

The words 'divine' and 'sublime' kept coming to my mind.

What a beautiful planet and what a spectacular view of the sun we have!

Be well 🙂

Wednesday Sunrise

I saw this beautiful sunrise this morning, so I thought that I'd share the view.🌄

When I saw this sunrise this morning, it brought a smile to my face.

I had a rough day today, but I'm going to go to sleep tonight and start over again tomorrow 🙂 No matter how lousy my day was, I'm still here and hey...nothing can take away from the beauty of this sunrise. Blessings to all 💖

The Red Sun on Monday

This is the beautiful red sun from yesterday morning here in Wiltshire, UK ☀ It doesn't look as red on my video as it actually was, but it gives an idea of what it was like.

Apparently it happened because of the coming together of three conditions at the same time: the effects of Hurricane Ophelia, dust being carried over from the Sahara desert and smoke from the fires in Spain. It was incredible to see it. It looked like an eclipse was happening because it got quite dark and looked like a sepia photograph. What an incredible thing that these elements came together at just the right time and created something so unique.

Hello June

I didn't get the chance to welcome in June a few days ago, so even though we're three days in, here goes.....Hello June!!! :)

I love the warmer months as many of us do. I love watching the sunset at the end of these long summer days, as the sun does its beautiful dance along the horizon, as it bids us good night and makes way for the moon. There is such a magic at that golden time in the evening when the shadows grow longer and everything is bathed in this amazing light.

It's about that time here as I type this. Nature is glorious.

Hello June!

Here's to many more golden evenings like this :)

Morning Sunshine

I shared this picture on Instagram this morning and I thought that I may as well share it here too. I took this early this morning as the sun was rising and flooding diagonally into the kitchen window. The sunlight made the roses glow. These are from our backyard and are probably the last few for this year, so they're even more precious to me.

Have a great day and week wherever you are!

Keeping Grounded

Happy Sunday :)

I thought that I'd post this picture again that I took last summer. Of course the sun hasn't changed much since I last shared this picture and that's what grounds me right now. It is timeless.

Last week was a terribly hard week. The news from back home left me not knowing what to say and so I prayed. Over this last week I've heard some people say that prayer does nothing...well I don't believe that. Prayer works in a variety of ways. I know that everyone is different and everyone deals with things in their own way. I totally respect that. Whatever anyone's beliefs are, they are theirs to hold. I am a live and let live person. For me though, prayer helps me hold myself together so that I can go on and look clearly at what is and at what I can contribute. The problems are immense, but we have to work towards better.

When I see this picture that I took of the sun setting over Wiltshire last summer, I see something concrete during these turbulent times. It's the sun that my ancestors saw rise and set every day of their lives and they somehow persevered. So I will too. They went forward and we must also...to something way better.

Sending love and light wherever you are in the world...

A Friday Photo and Pre-Blue Moon Quiet

Today's Friday photo is a continuation from the last couple of Fridays. I guess that it's turned into a series :) Anyway, this is the last of the group taken on July 31, 2015.

As I mentioned in my previous posts here and here, we went to watch the full blue moon rise on that evening and saw a fantastic sunset and the beautiful blue moon. It was a glorious evening and one that I won't forget for a long time. The awe-inspiring beauty has definitely stayed with me.

The photo above is the midpoint of the whole experience. I had just cast my eyes upon the wondrous power of the setting sun in the west and then I turned my attention the other way to the east and saw this haunting lull between the stars of the show...the sun and the moon.

When I see this photo, I can "hear" what I heard that evening...the quiet, as a slight wind blew across that Wiltshire hill as we waited.

As with the sunset and the full blue moon, I'm grateful to have witnessed nature's grandeur in this quiet moment. And I'm glad that I can share it :)

Have a great weekend wherever you are!

A Friday Photo and Glorious Shows in the Sky

Today's Friday photo was actually taken last Friday on the very last day of July 2015. My other half and I went out further into the Wiltshire countryside because I wanted to see the blue moon unobstructed. I love seeing the full moon as often as I can when it first peeks above the horizon. It's always a beautifully moving moment for me to see it like that. It looks so much larger at that point and it looks so much more tangible. Also, seeing the beginning of its rise just strikes something within me that makes me feel so connected to nature and to our universe.

So we were out waiting for the blue moon to rise in the east...minding our own business, when the sun decided to show out! Lol. Isn't this a beautiful sunset? The colors were just breathtaking and my camera didn't do it justice, but I hope you like taking a look.

Seeing this sunset reminded me of how lucky we are to live on this beautiful planet. With all of the turmoil that we hear about daily, it was so glorious to be reminded that no matter what...some things, like the sun and the moon, are just timeless, constant, and amazing! They remind me to continue onward always.

I was so grateful that we were there to witness the day ending with the golden light of the magnificent sun in the west, as the cool and luminous beauty of the gorgeous full moon came up in the east. What a beautiful experience!

My moon photos didn't turn out as great, but I'll share a couple of those next Friday, so I hope you'll visit me again.

Have a great weekend wherever you are! :-)

Bringing Some Sunlight

I was looking back at some old photos from last year and this one made me happy. I took this last May and it was a day when the sun was shining after a lot of days of rain. I remember how it made me feel at that time when I saw the sunlight hit the daffodils. It's a grey day today, so looking back at these brings back the sunshine :-)

Have a good day wherever you are!

Hello Sunshine

We are currently having some of the most beautiful weather here in Wiltshire! It's the best that we've had in a long, long time so I'm relishing every bit of it. About a week ago and before that, it was more like October ;-)

But this...this is what we've been waiting for!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!

I hope that it's beautiful wherever you are in the world!

Until next time...

The Colors of Nature

I was going through some of my photographs this morning and I came across this one that I like a lot. I took it last summer while Brit Boy and I were out around Wiltshire. I took it from the car as I am fond of doing when we are out and about :-) It's rather blurry, but I love the colors of nature and it was just a beautiful day that day. Seeing this photo again instantly takes me back to that day and how I felt as Brit Boy drove along. I look forward to getting some more photos like this hopefully this summer, and if I do, you know that I will share them here! :-)

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Sunrise in Wiltshire

Hello all! I hope that everyone had a good weekend. Mine was good. Brit Boy and I mostly stayed around home, but we did venture out to do a bit of grocery shopping. We also caught up on some tv recordings that we had stored up during the week. I didn't have a baking weekend like last weekend, but I'll be back at it soon enough :) My cold has gotten a lot better, and I'm hoping that I'll see the back of it by the end of the week. Yay!

No photos today of my quirky bread attempts, but I did take some quick photos of the beautiful colors in the sky this morning. It was extraordinary. There is just something magical about sunrises and sunsets! These photos were taken from inside, through the windows since I wasn't dressed to go outside when I took them. But I hope that they convey what I saw when I looked outside. Enjoy...and have a good day!

Sunny Days

Hello all...so, I was just in the kitchen a few minutes ago, washing some dishes and I was overjoyed with I saw outside....a blue sky!!! :)

We haven't had the greatest weather this past summer, so this little September surprise of warm weather that we're having here in southwest England is truly wonderful! We're supposed to have some splendid weather for the rest of this week so I'm extremely happy about that.

I think that I'll head out to enjoy the nice weather for a few minutes before I get back to studying. Days like this are meant to be relished!

Until next time...

The Moon and Happy Feet

It’s a beautiful sunny Friday here in Wiltshire. It seems that nowadays we get all of our beautiful weather in September instead of during the summer months. Better late than never I always say :-) Although while I was gone home to Georgia in June, Brit Boy tells me that the weather here was lovely. He blogged about it here. So I'm making up for missing it then. I’m soaking up as much of that vitamin D as I can.

This is gonna be a random post…I forgot to mention that in the opening :-) Okay, so I can’t remember if I’ve written here before about how much I love the moon and can gaze at it forever. I’ve always been intrigued by it and its beauty has the power to just stop me in my tracks when I catch sight of it. I’m sure that many of us have been enticed by a full moon or two or a few hundred in our lives. There is just something about that beautiful orb up there. When I’m gazing at our beautiful moon, I often think of the longevity of it and how my parents, grandparents, and all of the people who have ever lived on this planet have seen that same moon throughout their lifetimes. It makes me instantly feel connected to humanity through the ages. And I don’t just get excited by the full moon…oh no…I love the crescent moon too :-) It’s all amazing to me!

So last night, I was fiddling around with my camera and trying to photograph the moon because it looked like I could reach out and touch it. Well I did miserable at it. LOL. To tell you the truth I wasn’t really trying. It was late and I wasn’t using a high powered camera. I was just fooling around. I’m easily amused as I’ve mentioned before and I’m a night owl, so I just let it flow ;-) The photos turned out blurry and weird, but I like the eerie way it looks. So I want to share one of them anyway, just for a Friday laugh. LOL. And no, I was not drunk. LOL.

In other news, I’ve received a couple of comments here and on Facebook about my shoes that I wore on our trip to London last Saturday. Let me tell you, I LOVE those shoes!!! :-) They are so comfortable! For all you bloggers out there, you know how sometimes you get a meme or something and it asks you to tell something about yourself? Well my choice of footwear is something I’d like to share ;-) As you will notice from the photo, these shoes don’t have laces on them and they are my absolute favorite shoes. You know why? Because I really dislike untying and tying shoe laces. LOL. I'm sure there's some psychological reason behind this, but it doesn't faze me...I guess I would just say that I like ease in life and there are other things to think about besides my shoes ;-)

I learned how to tie my shoes many moons ago like everybody else, but I have developed this thing about not bothering with tying shoe laces. Even when I wear other sneakers, I will wrench them onto my feet somehow so I won’t have to untie them. LOL. I know…I'm a quirky chick. LOL.

So when I found these shoes I was in love!! ;-) Actually, these are the second pair of this style of shoe for me. Here’s the old pair that I still wear even though they’re a bit worn out now.

Interestingly enough, I bought both pairs of these shoes on visits home to Georgia, a few years apart. I bought the beige ones at the end of 2006 and I got the black ones when I went home in June. They are Skechers brand and they make my feet happy. They look nice on the foot and the best part is that they just slip onto my feet. Now isn’t that a beautiful thing ;-)

So this is the end of my random post and I will say here, that I was not paid to say something nice about these shoes or compensated in any way whatsoever. I just felt like sharing some info about these shoes, because you never know…there may be others out there who just don’t like tying their shoes either ;-)

Have a great weekend everyone and to all the folks back home in the States, have a Happy Labor Day weekend!!!!

Random Thoughts On A Saturday

I wanted to check in and say hello. Sorry for the eight days between posts. This is a bit of a random post, but it's just one of those random, easygoing days today, so I'm embracing it ;-)

Brit Boy and I have been doing some rearranging around here this week. It has been a bit of spring cleaning coupled with a need to maximize the space we have. We live in a small house, so space is golden around here :-) I'm very grateful that we have a home. We just have to be creative ;-) I love the way that things feel when you rearrange your space. You can enjoy things anew. Change is good :-) We're still not finished with our arranging and cleaning, but we've made a good start. It feels different around here.

It's a very sunny Saturday around here and it finally feels like spring. Today it feels like summer is just around the corner. I don't know how long this good weather will last, but I'm just going to enjoy it while it's here :-) It's amazing how the sunshine can lift your mood, especially when you don't see it much. I just love seeing that pretty blue sky :-)

Have a great weekend everybody! I hope that it's sunny where you are :-)
