Saturday - Easter Weekend

Happy Saturday!

 

Just checking in to share a couple of photos depicting a bit of Saturday around the Yellow House.

 

Hubby and I took a walk this morning and this lovely little yellow flower caught my eye...well of course it would...it goes along with the yellow theme around the Yellow House 😉

 

It's actually a dandelion flower I think, which is more of a weed to some, but it's still a lovely color yellow and a flower nonetheless. 

 

 

Lunch today was lovely and refreshing, especially on this Easter weekend. I made some delicious sandwiches for hubby and me. This was an off the cuff creation just using what was in the refrigerator. It turned out delicious!!! 

 

The ingredients for my Saturday sandwich:

• cucumber
• onion
• watercress/rocket (arugula) mixed greens
• olives
• cheese
• chili flavored hummus
• mayo
• brown bread

In a world with a lot of heaviness, we must make room for some of the simple joys of life also. So, here's to beautiful yellow flowers and delicious sandwiches!

Late January Walk

Hello 

It's been a while since I've posted. I was last here on January 1st and now here we are, with only two more days left in January after today. One month of 2022 will be in the books already. I say it all too often probably, but indeed, time flies!

Anyway, I thought that I'd share a photo that I took this morning during my morning walk. I'm trying to be consistent with my walking, at least on the weekends. I find it to be refreshing in so many ways.

I'm feeling a bit under the weather today, but I'm getting some rest in the hope that I'll feel better sooner rather than later. I should be fine in a couple of days.

I'm hoping to get back here to blog more regularly soon.

Healthier Saturdays and the Moon

I'm feeling better than I did two Saturdays ago or even one Saturday ago. I pray that the flu is gone and that I'm never that sick again. As I mentioned previously, I actually took the flu shot, but I still got the flu. Oh well, nothing is 100% effective. I'll still get the flu shot next time around because you just never know. Anyway, I'm extremely grateful to be feeling better and I'm praying for a full recovery and for my full energy to return soon. 🙂

As I mentioned the other day, as I feel better and better, I'd like to get back here more regularly to share what I'm up to, more like I used to in the earlier days of this blog. I'm also still loving taking photos, so I'd like to share them here again, even though I share them on Instagram often. I know that not everyone is on Instagram, so I'm going to get back to sharing them here on the blog also. I hope you'll enjoy taking a look.

To kick things off with sharing photos, I thought that I'd share a series of images that I shared on Instagram a few weeks back. I was walking home when I took these. The evening sky just took my breath away with its beauty. Nature is amazing! They're a little bit fuzzy, but I took them as I was walking briskly in the very cold evening air 😉

I loved getting a glimpse of the crescent moon along with all of that fantastic color! I love the moon!

Saturday's Little Nerd Goodies

Happy Saturday!

This is one of my not-so-regularly-scheduled Saturday posts ;-) My most recent one was this one here. As I mentioned in that previous post, I find that I like to ramble a little bit on Saturday and it spills over here. Lol. I don't know what it is, but on Saturdays it's like all the words for the week have been stored up and decide to tumble out. As I've also mentioned before, I LOVE SATURDAYS! I guess that many of us do, huh? :-)

Since I get kind of wordy on Saturdays, I often take the time to work on my book or write something else and today I'll be doing just that. As you can see from the photo above, I have all of my little nerd goodies ready to go ;-) I write on my laptop, but often I write bits and pieces out by hand. I like the feel of the pen in my hand while I scribble across the page. I'm a little bit old school and a teeny little bit techy. I have various pens because each has a certain feel and I'm a bit of a pen nerd too so...Lol.

I'm going to be doing a little bit of reading along with writing today and I'm calling on Stephen King's expertise for some inspiration. I've had this book for years and I refer back to it again and again. It's part memoir and part writing guide. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in writing or for anyone who enjoys Stephen King's work. It's a great read.
