It has been a few months and they were wonderful. We finished all of our classes and have our foster license we are working on the adoption license but MAN can we can paperwork, paperwork, and MORE paperwork. I feel like every time I turn around the county needs more paperwork filled out. It usually is the same stuff just asked differently.
You would think that adoptions and fostering could share the paperwork and then everyone only has to do it once, but that would be too easy. We got to meet this sweet little girl in November and have been on cloud nine since. She is an angel and we are praying that if it is right all will work out.
I have found that this process of adopting is very similar to fertility. The ups and downs, wondering if it will ever happen, planning, and most of all WAITING. The only difference is I feel like I have a clearer head through the adoption process because I am not boggled down with hormones.
It is a new year and we are so excited for the adventures that are coming our way this year. We will be parents (if everything keeps going the way it is), Jason will finally be in the community he joined the navy for, and I will be starting the nursing program (if I get in)! We are ready to take on what ever comes our way and we are excited about it.
So, even though the paper work is overwhelming and frustrating I know it will all be worth it! I really wish I could share more with you but believe me when the time comes I will not be sparing any details on this wonderful journey we have been on since October! We love all our family and friends for supporting us and showing excitement and care.
Jason's birthday is coming up this week and we are going to be able to see her again on his birthday and he told me the other day that this is the best gift he could have gotten. We both are excited for this process to happen.
Looking forward to the next post...and maybe some pictures!!!
