Quartz are "famous" for having opened for Black Sabbath and AC/DC in the late 70s, and also because their guitarist/keyboardist Geoff Nichols was the hidden 5th Sabbath member - on keyboards - for decades. Btw their 1977 song "Mainline Riders" (B-side of Street Fighting Lady) would have fit on Heaven And Hell, just saying... That being said, the entire Quartz discography is a must-have for the true zerist. It is deeply anchored in the 70s sound, even the magnificent newest three albums. The Church identifies echoes of Uriah Heep, Judas Priest, Nazareth, and Triumph, and probably others: all in all, rocking, catchy, heavy, and especially well delivered. Against All Odds is maybe the least satisfying in these quarters for its more commercial angle: like most 70s seasoned bands entering the 80s, they longed for success -  still a very enjoyable album. Anyway Quartz seem indestructible, just first class triplazering rockiverse material! Remove brackets and unzip: [quartzer] !ZER Quartz ZER!
