Halloween Crafting: DIY Witch Broom Wreath

I previously shared the Witch Broom I made using a Dollar Tree plunger. Today I'm sharing what I did with it!

Supplies:

  • Completed Witch Broom
  • Wreath Form
  • Decorative Mesh
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Tulle
  • Florals
  • Skulls

I used a large wire wreath form (Dollar Tree) as my base, along with Decorative Mesh (also DT) and florals from DT and Michaels.

Since I knew I was going to attach the broom and wanted to ensure other things were really secure on the wreath form, I added some pipe cleaners as shown so that I could use the ends to attach other elements.

I covered the form with the decorative mesh, wrapping it so the pipe cleaner ends were still accessible.

I used a combination of the pipe cleaner ends and some tulle to tie on the broom. Glue didn't feel like it was going to be strong enough!

I took my florals apart, then combined them how I liked in bunches, which I also used the pipe cleaner ends to attach. Once you know you're done with the pipe cleaners, trim closely, and they just blend in.

I found this bag of Oil Skulls at Michaels, and the iridescent colors worked perfectly with my color palette.

Then I used hot glue to add these randomly around my wreath.

A little Goth. A little Glamour. Gothmour?

Disneyween Pics!

Sharing some pics from our Anniversarymoon trip to Disneyland during Halloween season. I love how they transform both Disneyland and California Adventure.

From the entrances

Main Street

The main characters get all new outfits!

California  Adventure characters get their own outfits.

You're never too old for ears! They have an adorable Cutie Ghost collection.

One of my favorite things is the transformation of the Haunted Mansion. Starting with Halloween (which starts in August) into January, it turns into "The Nightmare Before Christmas" Mansion inside and out, with everyone from Sandy Claws and Oogie Boogie inside.

You can even meet Jack and Sally in their own courtyard.

All around both parks, you can find seasonal and "land" specific treats. Mama needed her afternoon coffee, so this Cold Brew Black Caf from Docking Bay 7 in Galaxy's Edge hit the spot! There's also a Starbucks in each park along with other coffee options.

If you've seen Coco, you'll love the Plaza de la Familia in California Adventure.

Crafts!! See, even on vacation! This is a beautiful traditon where you can write a special message and hang it along with all who've also left messages. Some are to loved ones who've passed. Others are to special people still here.

You write them on these special cards, and hang them up. You can also color your own fun masks.

There's so much to do and see, and I could go on... I took so many pics, but I just thought I'd share a glimpse. For us, it's a place to be silly, enjoy the sights, have fun treats, and just be in the moment. And lest you think we're the only big kids who go on their own, we met a couple in line celebrating their 38th anniversary!

BFF Open House Woo Hoo...Blog's Back Up

Yeesh! Go away for a week, and come back to find out some gremlin snuck into my blog, leaving DNS errors and "not found" errors. Panic at the Disco for any Millenials out there!

We had a FABOOLOUS time on our trip, and I will post some pics early next week. Seriously, if you ever get the chance to see Disneyland decked out for Halloween...DO IT!

After stressing this week and getting back up and running, we're just going to go all party, no features this week and resume features next week! Mkay?!

I did share some fun Vintage Halloween Printables that no one could see this week!

I hope that September has started off creatively for everyone. It's GO time!

Vintage Halloween Printables

Back from our Anniversarymoon trip to Disneyland and had a complete BLAST! It's truly a different experience when decorated for the holidays, and we've been at Halloween and Christmas time and love them both.

Vintage Halloween is HUGE this year, and I played with some adorable images from Creative Fabrica to make some fun printables. I'm sharing them with you all. They're available via this link: Vintage Halloween Printables.

BFF Open House: 2 Week Party

Happy Friday Eve, Creative Peeps! As you can see from the title, this will be a TWO-WEEK party because Mr. Chocolate and I are running away to our favorite home away from home, Disneyland (again!). This time, we're celebrating our 35th Anniversary (and an early birthday for me!). I have no idea where the time has gone, but here we are. We met 40 years ago in college, were "just friends" for four years, then dated and got engaged within months. And guess where we celebrated our engagement, spent part of our honeymoon, have observed anniversaries, birthdays, son's HS and college graduations? And now in our Junior-Senior years, we're still at it. The marriage and Disney!

And it's going to be fully decorated for my favorite season, so that's even better!🎃

This week I shared:

Now, let's take a look at some fun ideas from last week's party and I'll see you on the other side in a couple of weeks!

The Apple Street Cottage shared this gorgeous Fall Pillow she made from her fabric stash! Perfect for the entire Fall season!

Mason Jar Crafts shared 15 Fall Recipes in Mason Jars. These look delicious, not to mention how practical and functional they are whether to use yourself or whip some up as gifts!

Crazy Little Lovebirds shared how to use wood pumpkin cutouts to make these festive Jack O'Lanterns

And finally, Cindy's Online Recipe Box shared this Frozen Banana Split Cocktail that would be a hit with Mr. Chocolate since he loves banana splits. You can skip the alcohol if you like, and it'll still be amazing!

Thanks to everyone who linked up and wishing you all an early Happy September! See you in a couple of weeks.
