Kate's 8 Year Check-up

Kate had her 8 year old check up with Dr. Gould today. She weighs 55 lb.s (33%) and is 50 1/4 " tall (36%). Dr. Gould was fun to talk to and asked Kate lots of fun questions. Kate, you are practically perfect in every way!

Sand Harbor

On our way to Tahoe last night, we stopped at Chick fil a for our free dinner. We all had cow spots on and were able to enjoy some good food. 

We arrived to the condo around 8pm and got unpacked. 

This morning we headed for Sand Harbor beach. We parked at the old elementary school down the street and hopped on the bus that dropped us off. The beach was packed, of course! And the water levels are so high this year that there is hardly any beach left! We couldn't believe it. The area were we normally set up our stuff was all under water. We found a different area and the kids had fun building castles in the sand and playing in the water. 

On our way back to the condo we stopped at 7-11 for our free slurpees!

Kate's Eye

Kate's eye was starting to get swollen on our last day in Tahoe, so Friday morning I brought her in to the pediatricians office. Cousin Luke was at the ER last week with a really swollen eye and they diagnosed him with periorbital cellulitis. And 2 aunts and an uncle have pink eye.....so I decided I should get things checked out. 

Because of the history of what has been going on around us, the dr prescribed Augmentin for Kate in hopes that would take care of the swelling and whatever infection might be going on. 

During the weekend Kate had a fever of 101-102 off and on.  This morning the white of her eye was red and there was still some swelling, so I brought her back in to the dr. 

Dr. said to just continue taking the meds. If it is pink eye, the antibiotic will take care of it. Hoping this clears up quickly!

Life Scout

Carter had his Board of Review this evening and he is officially a Life Scout. Next step is EAGLE!!

We are so proud of all the work he has done. Cory received a text from one of the men that interviewed him and he said:

"Cory, we interviewed your son at the Board of Review and we were very impressed. He is a sharp kid and is raising the bar high!"

Diamond Peak Trail Hike

Cory decided that he wanted to go on a hike for his birthday, so he found a trail that was pretty close to the condo. We were in awe at the beauty around us. Everything was green and lush. We found a little stream running through the trail too. The kids found a large boulder sitting atop another rock. They were able to crawl in between the two and cool off. 

After we packed up from the condo we went for dinner at Hacienda and enjoyed some delicious Mexican food, as it poured outside.

Carter & Claire Check Ups

Carter & Claire both had their check ups with Dr. Gould this morning. They are both healthy & growing perfectly.

Carter is 64 1/2 " tall or 5'4 1/2", which officially makes him taller than me. How did that happen?? He is in the 75% for height. He weighs 111 lbs. , which is in the 60%.

Claire is 58" tall, or 4ft. 10" which is the 80%. She weighs 83 1/2 lbs. and is in the 63%.

She also had to get a tetanus booster shot, which she was not happy about!! The only thing that made her feel better was knowing she didn't have to get it again until she is 20. (Unless she steps on a nail!)

Time to head to Tahoe now!

4th of July Evening

We headed over to my mom's house after we were done at Judy's.....that is, everyone but Cory. He got a call right when were about to leave and something was wrong with a system at work. So he headed to the office while we headed for more fun. The kids swam again, ate sno cones and did some fireworks. While we were watching the show we could see smoke billowing up from behind a house down the street. A bunch of us rushed down there & arrived even before the fire trucks. We found a fire that had started in the field, about 20 houses down from my moms. We're pretty certain it was from illegal fireworks. Luckily the fire department was able to get it out pretty quickly with no harm to any houses. I guess you could say the evening ended with a bang?!!
