BEACH 2013

This year, we enjoyed a family beach trip with our cousins, Ryan and Stephanie, to Colonial Beach in Northern Virginia.  It was very relaxing!  Stephanie's dad even came one day and took us out in his boat on the Potomac.  It was probably the most fun day for us and our kids! Braylen talked my ear off the entire boat ride about finding buried treasure.  I love that kid!!

Color Run 2013

About 20 people joined our color run team, "Tough As Stone," in honor of sweet little baby Stone.  We had THE BEST time!!!  I can't wait to do it again. 

The Color Run is a 5k where participants wear white clothing and throughout the route, you run through "color zones" where you get pounded with color.  At the end, your white clothing is no longer white!  So fun!  There is a dance party at the end, but you guys who know me know that this girl didn't participate in that part!  ha!! 

In May, a couple of weekends before the color run, we were invited to our friends, Lindsey and Jeff's house, where we got to hang out with the Anderson family and baby Stone a little more and got to know them better.  They have become good friends and we were excited to name our team after little Stone.

We didn't take our kids through the run with us so we had a fun evening tie-dying their shirts before the run!

After the color run, Tony and I invited the team members over to our house for some fun!  We had a great time eating, playing "polish horseshoes"(a Jeff Woods game so I have no clue!), riding the four wheeler, some of the guys did some gun shooting, and sitting around the fire pit and roasting s'mores!

I haven't posted since before summer!  Crazy!  I think I'm as busy in the summer as I am during the school year.  The difference is that I'm busy doing things that I enjoy every day!! 

We have had a fun filled summer around here.  My kids have been so much fun this summer.  They have really grown up in the last year.  I'm so sad about going to back to work, but I just keep telling myself how lucky I am to have the hours and schedule that I have.  And besides, Miss Riley will be in KINDERGARTEN this year so she will be directly across the hall from me.  :-)  I'm very excited for this new chapter in our lives.
