Updates

I had my ultrasound last Thursday and we're definitely having a boy...unless it falls off (that's what the doctor said) We're pretty excited. We're going to name him Gilead Larsen Petty, Gil for short. Yes, we know that it's different, we like it that way. We've had some opposition to this name but since it's our kid we get to name him. That's right, if you don't like it go have your own kids.

Anyway, the doctor said that he is very healthy and looks excellent. The bad news is that I have partial placenta previa and will probably have to have a c-section. That was definitely not in my birthing plan. I have to go in for another ultrasound in a month or so to see if the placenta has moved or if that is where it implanted. If it hasn't moved we're going to plan on a c-section. I'll update when we know more.

In other news...I've decided that I want to make a jean quilt. If anyone has any old jeans they'd like to donate to my project let me know. I'm hoping to start it in January. Also, we are going to be selling Will's car. It's a honda civic. It's in pretty good shape and just got a new engine put in it last year. If anyone is interested in it or knows anyone who would be let me know. We're also selling an ellipitical as well. We need the room for the baby so it's got to go.

It's a boy!

We're having a boy! I'll write another blog later with more details.

Adventures in drying

So our friends Tim and Lexi moved to California so they sold us their washer and dryer for cheap. On Thursday we borrowed my dad's truck and headed down to provo to pick them up. when we get there we all realized we have no tools to unhook the washer from their wall...finally we find some tools in the back of Tim's dad's truck. We load them in the truck and finally head back to Logan. So after hours and hours of driving we finally have a washer and dryer....or do we? While hooking them up in the closet we realize that the dryer has three prongs and the the wall only takes a four prong cord. Ack! Now we have to find a converter thing for it...if anyone knows where we can get one please let me know. Afterwards, on our way back from giving the truck back I got really sick and puked all over the car...it was gross.

First Picture!

So today was my first appointment with the baby doctor. It was confirmed that I am 11 weeks along. Here is the first ultrasound picture of our baby...

I think it looks like a rat...a cute one though. My next appointment is October 9th and we'll know if it's a boy or girl then.

Labor Day!

For Labor Day weekend Will and I went and stayed at my parents house. The whole family was there so it was a full house. On Saturday morning Brook, Dani, Will and I went 4wheeling up to our property in the Wasatch Mtns. and then it was my cousing Desi's wedding that afternoon. Sunday was the beginning of mustard pickles....my moms cousin came and stayed with us to make mustard pickles. I helped chop tons of cucumbers (my fingernails were stained green)! On Monday we went up to Heber for the annual Sheep Herding! Dogs herding sheep and ducks. It was cold but fun!

The Month of Vegas!

During the Month of June we lived in Las Vegas, Nevada working for Platinum Protection. Will went door to door selling security systems while worked in the office scheduling installations. Basically we worked from 12pm - 11pm every day. But hey it was Vegas so we would go and see movies or out to eat after work. We had planned to be here all summer but the office was eventually transferred and we merged with the Salt Lake office. The Saturday we found we were leaving Vegas we decided we should go down to the Stratosphere and play. We got there around 12 am and stayed there until 2 am when they closed. We went on all the rides and had tons of fun.

the fun and oh so wonderful ride on top of the stratosphere.

The Long Lost Taylor Sister

So all our lives everyone has told us that we looked alike, so we decided to see how we looked alike. My sister Brook took pictures of us at different angles of our faces and over layed them in photo shop. Here are the results: Emily vs. Brook - same nose, eyes, and mouth. Emily vs. Dani - same face structure, except Dani's face is round and Emily's is Oval. Brook vs. Dani - same forhead and chin and eyes. We all have the same eyes.

Well after doing that we decided to make ourselves another sister using all of our features. We all decided that it was a good idea that our parents stopped having children after me.

Buella!

She Done Came Home

My sister Dani came home from her mission on Thursday. She went to the Oregon Eugene Mission. We just took some random pictures while my sister Brook was in town. I hope you enjoy them.

I'm going to get her.

1.8 millions dollars?!

So we went to St. George for spring Break and saw a sign for an open house in this really cool neighborhood. We thought 'what the heck' and went to look at it. So we go through the gated community and weren't that impressed at first...then we went inside. I wish I had some pictures to show what it looked like but I forgot my camera in the car. This house was absolutely gorgeous inside and is a lot bigger than it looks. It has 3 bedrooms, each with it's own bath, big screen tv and fireplace and king size bed. The kitchen was amazing with it's green granite counter tops and appliances that blended in with the cabinetry. It also has a built in hot tub, 2 bbq grills, and on top of the house is a patio that is so cool. There is also a pond in the back yard. All the furniture came with the house as well. All of this for just a mere 1.8 million. Needless to say, I wish I was rich!

Guitar Hero

So up until Saturday night I have protested playing guitar hero because of it's popularity...however i finally gave in...and it's awesome! I played it all weekend and Andy and Sarah's house, literally all weekend. I almost feel like I wasted time when I could be doing something else but oh well. We got to hang out with some great family and friends and had a good time. I would have added pictures if we had a camera. One day we'll get one...one day.
