Lily's visit with birth family
We had our annual visit with Lily's birth Dad and Grandma T. We spent 5 hrs at Riverfront Park and had a lot of fun and made some good memories! This is the 2nd time we've met this side of her birth family. Her Grandma T drove up from California to attend the visit. They invited a friend to take pics of the visit. We did approve upon meeting her and it actually is a pretty neat idea. She took over 300 pics and put them on a disk for us to take home! For once it was nice to NOT be the one taking all the pics.
Lily greeted them with open arms! She was a little apprehensive with her birth Dad at first, but it didn't take long to warm up to him. She had no reserves with her Gma T! It was really cute! They got her a Tinkerbell lunchbox, 4 headbands and barrettes! She loved them ALL! Her birth Dad has been saving a musical snow globe of Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus since last Christmas. This was a special gift :)
I loved watching how they took in every smile or frown or jump or skip or whatever Lily was doing. There were some really tender moments captured :) They loved the photo books and albums I made for them.
So, we had a great time getting to know them better and watching our kids having a good time!
Here are some of my favorite pics that were taken!
An emotional greeting!

Lily's birth Dad looked everywhere for a snow globe that had a music box and he found this one last Christmas. It's Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. What a beautiful gift!

What's Up at Our House?
Fourth of July!
Spring Pics!
New Appliances!
Lily's Birthday!
Wow! It's been a lil while since my last post ;(
Above are some pics from the past couple months to catch you up!
Well, our house has been busy lately. SNAP has been here and we now have a new back door with a new frame and completely sealed! They replaced our HORRIBLE window upstairs for a much better one! They insulated the attic and sealed the basement! We now have a exhaust fan in our bathroom to help prevent moisture from causing probs. They put a new weather strip on the front door so that will help with the cold this winter :)
A few months back SNAP converted us from Electric heat to Gas, installed a new gas furnace and hot water tank, added a heat vent in the baby's room upstairs, the laundry room and fixed the one in our room!
Needless to say, we have been extremely blessed by qualifying for this program!
We recently were able to pay off our van and other debt!
Kids:
Well, most days the kids are bored and just run around like wild turkeys ;) Trying to keep Dom occupied is another story...
Dom is your typical 5 1/2 yr old boy....bored with an attitude ;( He loves to help me clean and pick up the house and is very sweet!
Lily is 3 now and wants to do everything BROTHER does ;) She is whiny central and pushes the limits, but can be sweet as pie. She loves playing with her Princesses and dress up clothes!
Sara is almost 9 mo old! I can't believe it! She cut her first tooth in the last week! She army crawls ALL OVER the place and is SO close to CRAWLING! She gets up on her knees and rocks quite often. She just decided to sit up in the last couple weeks and now we'll find her sitting up in her crib in the morning! She started sleeping through the night at 6 months and usually does pretty well...except the last couple nights due to teething and a growth spurt I think?
She eats about very well but remains small (just like her Mommy) on the charts! No concerns here ;) Two weeks ago at WIC she weighed 14 lbs 6 oz, 26 inches for an 8 mo old! Her 9 mo ck up in a few days.
Vince is busy working as was doing Volunteer Firefighting but the timing was not good for our family at this time, so he had to quit ;(
A few weeks ago we bought our first appliances, brand NEW! New Fridge, stove, dishwasher and washer/dryer! Our fridge rocks and we love the ice and water maker! I drink a ton more water than I used to because I like it cold ;) It's so nice to have a fridge that doesn't freeze everything, like our last one. The dishwasher rocks and is pretty quiet. The stove is a glass top and so far we love it! We bought an LG front-load washer/dryer in RED! LOVE IT! Okay, sorry about that brag session ;)
I am working hard at trying to keep up the house more but the kids don't make that easy. I've recently implemented a reward chart and chores for the kids to do! Lately they are doing great and moving up on their reward charts! It helps so much when they help me pick things up and the LOVE helping Mommy! I'm also reading Parenting With Love and Logic and getting some great tips on better parenting ;)
Well, I think I've rambled on enough and hope you enjoyed the update and pics!
Remember, I LOVE comments!
