Routines Work!!!
So, lately I've been noticing a lot about Dominic. He likes routines! Here's his bedtime routine: Has to have Ducky & Blankie in his arms,
Kisses Daddy,
turns on his music,
turns off the light,
we turn on his Cool Mist Humidifier,
Cuddle w/Mommy (Mommy Loves),
put bug in bed, tuck him in,
Say "night night" to Ducky & Blankie,
Kiss Dom,
make sure he has his Sippy cup,
close the door.
Whhwww! That's a lot! So, then in the morning:
Get Bug out of bed, w/Ducky & Blankie
Turn on music (apparently it relaxes him on the changing table) this is new.
Then I sit him on his chair and turn on cartoons
Refill his Sippy cup
And start the day!
Now then funny thing is, is that he makes sure all of this is done. He points to the CD player and reaches for the lignts. In the morning when I change him, he points to the CD player again.
I was in his room cleaning the other day and he wanted his music on. It's so cute.
I just wanted to share our "royal" routine w/all of you.
He's a PRINCE!!

Merry Christmas!
Apples to Apples
So, for those of you who don't know this game, buy it anyways!!! It was rated #1 family game in People magazine. My brother got it for Christmas and it is so much fun!!!! That's all I have to say. For those of you who know this game, here was the funniest card: Green card "Insane" the card I chose was "at my parents house"!!! LOL hillarious!!!
Well, we've made it to the 5 mark. On Dec 21st, Vince & I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary!! Time flys! We didn't celebrate until the next day. We went to ShoGun with another couple who were married the same day and year as we were. The food was AMAZING!!! I ate raw fish and good sushi and had Yummy steak! Then we went bowling w/a different couple and I scored (get this...) 176!!! It was because I played Wii Sports bowling!!!
I just wanted to share my special day w/my faithful blog readers.
Vince surprised me w/Roses too.

Our 1st X-Mas in our own home
Look! It's snowing outside too!!
This will be Vince and my 6th X-mas together even though we've been married 5 yrs coming up on the 21st. Weird huh? I am very excited for Xmas this year. In years before, we always had a problem finding a place for the Xmas tree and now we actually have room for one w/out rearanging our living room. It's right in front of the window too. Vince and I put our tree up last Saturday while Dominic was napping. I know, I really wanted to include Dominic, but he's still a little young yet. Next year he will be almost 3 yrs old and he will enjoy decorating the tree. Vince and I had a good time putting our ornaments up. Since we were married right before Xmas, almost everyone put an ornament on our Wedding gifts instead of bows. So we have a lot of beautiful ornaments. Our tree is a brand new, (fake) pre-lit tree!! My parents bought it on clearance after Xmas last year. It's very pretty & it didn't take that long to put up. It's just the spreading out of the branches that I hate. I loved not putting on lights too!!
Well, in light of the news about me not working for much longer, Vince and I decided not to get each other anything for Xmas. We're making this year all about Dominic. And, I kind of felt like a poor family for a second, but then, we are able to buy presents for Dom and are "choosing" not to buy for one a nother. There are families who really can't afford a tree, presents, food, etc. I felt bad for even thinking about that.
I look at our situation right now and after being married for 5 yrs I just thought we would be more financially secure and settled. But, my mom brought it to my attention that we aren't that bad off. We may be barely scraping by at times, but we do have a house and vehicles and Dominic is well taken care of. It may not be the life of the Hiltons, but it's our life and we're a family in love w/each other. I just had to say that. I guess I'm just trying to be thankful for what we do have instead of don't have.
Merry X-Mas everyone!

Updates all in ONE....
I appoligize, but I am just going to add a bunch of stuff all in one blog. So bare with me!
THE FIRST SNOW
Yea! It finally snowed the other day! here are some pics I took the night it started snowing. I hope you can see them okay. I'll have to take some pics of Dom in the snow. The morning after it snowed, we were walking to the Van and Dom was scared to put his foot in the snow at first, but then I showed him it was okay and he was fine. He is so cute is his little size 3 blue snow boots. I love the snow! I was really afraid to drive in it with the Van, seeing as this was the first time in the new vehicle. But, all is well. Vince and I invested in some good tires the other day and I haven't slid once.
It's snowing right now too. The 2nd snow storm of the season!!
THANKSGIVING IN HOQUIAM
So, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We carpooled w/Sherwoods' and dropped them off in Seattle. Then we continued on to Hoquiam. My grandparents, on my Dad's side, live there and my Aunt lives in Aberdeen which is like 5 min. from Hoquiam. So we stayed w/my grandparents and had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My Aunt made her famous Blackberry pie (my dad's favorite)! I had to rub it in a little of how good the pie was. My cousin Charlie & his GF were there too, which was a surprise to me! After dinner, we played a traditional game of Continental Rummy. It's fun!! I've grown up playing this. I won the first game & my Aunt won the 2nd game.
The first night we arrived Dom had a hard time adjusting and ended up sleeping in the room w/us. But, by the next morning he had warmed up quite nicely to Grandma Betty and Grandpa Norman. He loves them! So the rest of the stay was very nice and Dom took all of his naps.On Friday Vince & I took Dom to Ocean Shores where Vince proposed to me 5 yrs ago. The ocean was beautiful and Dom loved it! It was such an experience to see him running on the very same sand where Vince and I agreed to share our lives together.
I DID THIS!
I am so proud of myself. I was tired of waiting for Vince to do install this TP holder so I just decided that I would do it. So the other night, I took out Vince's drill and put this up all by myself. Yea for me!
LATEST UPDATE & SOME MISC PICS....
So I'm still waiting to find out more on my job, but it really doesn't matter what the decision is because our company can't survive w/out a new billing system. So either way, AAI is finished. The consensis is that we won't last much past Jan. 8 of the new year. We'll see.

Job update...
Ok, so today I was officially told about the company. We will find out more details during the first week of January. There will be a bonus and severance package if we stay through the end. The whole process may take up to 5 months, so some of us could be there until May. We won't know when we're leaving until 2-3 weaks before it actually happens. The worst part is that our jobs are being given to foreigners. I'm not prejudice, but come on. A lot of my co-workers, me included, are very upset about this fact.
I think this is a blessing in disquise, though. I can't wait to stay at home w/Dominic.
All you other stay-at-home mom's may need to give me some advice on what you do every day. I get bored after being home for a couple of days. This may just need some adjustment time too.
I need some organizing ideas too for the whole house. Dominic's room (toys, shoes, clothes, books, etc.) Computer desk (paperwork, cd's, games, billing docs-I do have a filing cabinet).
Upstairs (game room for Vince & storage for Dominic), and our room-clothes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and needs to be cheap.

Peeww!!
I love our cat, but man is she stinky. Partly it's our fault for not emptying to kitty litter enough. I emptied it the other day, but didn't change the litter and it smells sooooooooo baaaaaaddddddd! I can't stand to have the bathroom door opened! Yuk! It's like toxic waste. What is the best kitty litter to buy, keep in my a decent price, and soaks up the urine the most? I can't stand this!!

Good News & Bad News
The bad news is that my office in Spokane closing due to a company merge over seas. So, everyone in our office is losing their jobs. From what I hear, the soonest will be Jan 31st.
The good news is that I've decided to stay at home with Dominic. For all of you who really knows me, you know that I've been wanting to do this for a while. This may require some job adjusting on Vince's part, but he's up for it. I am sad to lose my job like this, especially after raise, but I get to be w/Dominic. I think we can make it okay for now. At least I have a heads up. If we stay until the end, then we get severence pay.
To catch up from last week. I only worked on Tuesday. I was home the rest of the week with Dominic having Croup, again. This stuff is nasty and there's not much to take for it. We are out of Benadryl and Tylenol is going fast too. Then last night, I started to get a sore throat again and have been miserable most of the day.
I just hope we are over this soon because we're all going to Hoquiam for Thanksgiving.
Well, that's all for now.

Cold Season makes for LONG NIGHT
Oh I do not like the cold season. Dominic is getting really sick. I had to call Triage tonight because he kept on coughing after all the cold medicine I gave him. I know, I know, we're not supppossed to give cold medicine to children under 2. But, the Nurse didn't scold me, she said I was doing everything I should be and watching for the important things like wheezing and high temps. His temp tonight was 101.7. She said she understood why I gave him all that cold medicine and I was careful to watch to doses and not double up on one ingredient. It was 11pm by the time Dom settled down w/out coughing for 2 minutes. It's 11:30 pm right now and so far so good. It's really exhausting as all you other mothers know too well. I think I may stay home w/him tomorrow if he's not better. I just hate leaving him to work for 4 hrs when I know he'll be more comfortable at home and w/his mommy. What to do?
Vince and I are also fighting colds right now. I called in sick on Monday due to really bad sore throat (so bad that it hurt to talk). I'm okay now.
Some other news on a different subject. Vince and I saw the Urologist today and he has to get tested two more times before we can see a fertility specialist. We saw Dr. Fairchild and he was really confident that we could get pregnant still, possibly w/artificial insemination and maybe w/out it. He was glad to hear that I am charting so we can plan IC around the probable time. He said for us to take every opportunity to get pregnant on our own still. I was like after 5 yrs! He said sure. Oh, by the way, Rumors: Mt Dew causes low SC-not true, Diet affects SC-not true unless there's smoking or drinking or drugs. But, a regular diet wouldn't effect it. So in light of all of this, I guess the Dr. gave me some more hope that we can do this still. Pray for us please!

Happy Halloween!
Well this was a fun year! Dom was a clown and so cute. He went trick-or-treating w/his buddy Logan. First we stopped at my parents house, then we stopped at my sister's house, Logan's Aunt's house, Logan's Great Grandma's House and then we went to the Mall for the big TRICK-OR-TREAT. We got there at about 6:30 pm and a lot of the stores were already out of candy. The boys still enjoyed it though. They held on to their buckets and got their candy as we went store to store. Dom kept on reaching in and wanted to eat the candy, so I ended up giving him a lolly pop. This way he focussed on eating that and not getting into the bucket. They both ended up having a good haul! It was fun this year and I look forward to next year. I think we'll do some more houses next year. Dom will be almost three and taller. His little legs are so short and that makes it hard for walking.

First successful morning!
I just wanted to report that this morning there was no screaming!! I heard him for about 5-7 minutes and by now he's usually screaming. So, I was more than happy to go and get him up. I went in there and Ducky was on the floor & he was just standing quietly in his crib pointing at Ducky. I was so happy and the morning is off to a good start.
I hope this keeps working. Dominic is a fast learner, so I think it will.
Thank you for all your comments and backup on this matter.

Am I a Terrible Mother?
Okay, so I just need some of your thoughts on this one.
Every morning when Dominic wakes up, he throws his Ducky and Blankie out of the crib & screams bloody murder until I come and get him. The little stinker. The problem w/this is that every morning I'm waking up to a SCREAMING child and my temper gets the better of me. I've really been struggling w/discipline lately. What do you do besides swat them a little? So, I talked to my mom about this last night and she gave me the idea to just let him scream. I said "Oh, mom I couldn't do that." Well, I was wrong. So Dom wakes up this morning & within 2 minuntes he is screaming, screaming, screaming. So, instead of going down there and yelling and spanking him, I just laid in bed, covering my ears, and let him scream! I know, I know, but how is he going to learn? Well, when the screaming finally stopped it had been 40 minutes. I know it sounds aweful! I would never let a newborn scream that long, but Dom is almost 2 and feel like he needs to learn that he can't things w/an attitude like that. So, it seems as if letting him scream worked pretty well. He's just fine and when I went to get him up finally, I was in a happier mood and he didn't get in trouble.
Please tell me what you think! I just need some ideas for discipline in general, w/out being physical in any way.
Thanks for letting me vent!

Fall is Here
Fall is here! I am just loving all the beautiful Fall colors! This is a couple of my friends' favorite season. It will be fun to rake all the leaves up and thow Dom in the pile.
Nothing new this weekend. Dom has just gotten over a fever & the runs, which means diaper rash! I hate when this happens. He's getting over it now, thank goodness, and sleeping much better.
I haven't posted any new pics because I lost the battery charger. We have two and I can't find either of them. Grrrrrrrrrrr!
Well I don't really have much to report so good

Finally; Results.....
Okay, I will try to be disgreat as possible due to the sensitivity of this subject. We finally got Vince tested for a SA. The results came back today and it looks like the problem or the majority of the problem lies with him. I have some mixed feelings. At first I wanted to cry. Then I was dissapointed and sad. Many people have asked me if I am angry at all. All I can say to that is we'be pretty much played the blame game without knowing who's at fault. The point is, that I love Vince unconditionally and we will work through this together. We have our beautiful, almost 2 yr old, son Dominic. We are so blessed to have him.
It's a big relief to finally have some answers to why I haven't gotten pregnant for almost 5 yrs. I think we know now.
Now, we will see a specialist and check out our options. Thank you for all you love and support through this difficult time. Please keep us in your prayers.
I know I haven't blogged for a few days, but not much is different. Dominic is getting very vocal and VERY VERY VERY WHINEY-not sure of the spelling. I am grateful to have this house and my family and friends. I couldn't do without any of it.
As for my calling, I am settling in Primary finally. I have done 3 sharing times and each one gets easier. There are so many meeting that go along with the calling, and I have to admit that I don't like the meetings. I am trying to have a good attitude, though. Also, I am over the boy scouts so even more meetings. I am growing a lot in the Gospel with this calling and grateful to be called here.
We are getting family pictures @ Sears in two weeks, so I'll have some pics to post.
I have no idea of what Dom is going to be for Halloween. Any ideas would be great!

Fertility Friend
I just discoverd this site from a friend. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/. This is the best site for this stuff. It's for every woman no matter if you are having fertility issues or not. Even if you are just starting to try and conceive it's worked for a number of woman. Woman on fertility drugs us this too. As you all know, Vince and I have been trying to conceive since Jan. 03. This site is for charting you temperature. Yes, I have done this before, but not like this. It calculates everything for you. How long you cycles are; if you've ovulated; what day you should test for pregnancy, and much much more. It predicts when your most fertile days will be at the start of a new cycle. You have to use a BBT thermometer, which you can get @ Wal-Mart or any drug store ($10.00). You will get one lesson per week in you email to help you understand all the language and signs. It's totally free and you get a free VIP trial for 30 days. Then you have to pay for the VIP (extra stuff) after that. I might do this when my 30 days is up. You can chart totally for free though. I am also using OPK's (Ovuation Predictor Kits) so I know when I am close to ovulating. There are other charts with all different cycles that you can look at and compare yours with others. My friend is also using this site and has learned that she isn't ovulating. This is important to know since she's been trying to concieve. It's really interesting and after all this time trying to concieve, I have learned a whole lot more about how the CYCLE works. I am praying and hoping that doing this will lead to pregnancy for us. We are getting Vince tested soon. This is a very sensitive subject for me as you all know, but I'm ready to share this with everyone else. If any of you sign up, let me know what your homepage is so we can compare charts. If anyone would like a sneek preview, you can check out my homepage: www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1caf9f

Oh what MARKERS can do!
This is what my adorable son and his friend Logan did today. Jandre left the room for a second and Logan found where she hid the markers. So by the time she came back into the room, Logan and Dominic had written all over her wall! Luckilly, they wrote on the sheet rock that hasn't yet been painted. And of course it was all over Dom's hands and face! She cleaned their hands and face the best she could but alas there is still a mark left. So I am wondering what to do if this happens to my house! Oh, I couldn't imagine. Our walls have pretty new paint on them.
On a different note, I am getting so tired of his whining! It's all the time and so WHINY! Ahhhhh! I work part time and I still get tired of it, especially when it's coming from behind you while you are driving! Ok, sorry I just had to vent!

Icky!!!
Ok , so just before I left the Sherwoods' I filled up Bug's cup w/Pedia Sure. He was drinking it on the way home and kept trying to get my attention by saying "mamma, mamma". Well, when we got home I opened up the side door and noticed that his face was completely covered w/his drink and it was all over his shirt!! I guess I may think twice before handing the cup over w/out checking the lid. Oops! I wish I got a pic, but sadly I didn't.
Also, I am having to give more and more baths to Bud before bed. He's getting dirtier and dirtier every day. I guess that's the life of a toddler.

First day in the new Church Building!
Today was our first day meeting in the new building on Regal & 63rd. It takes about 20-25 min. to get there. That's a long time comparing to the 2 min. drive we used to have in the Valley. The building is very beautiful and that word doesn't do any justice. The chapel is decorated in one of my favorite colors, Burgundy-not sure of the spelling? It's so spacious and I LOVE the heating system! It works very well! Well, the former 1st couselor is now the president in the Primary.
I just have to share what the kids did to me during my 2nd ever sharing time. I don't know the kids' names yet and they know that. So, they were messing w/me when I drew a name out and I didn't know who was who. Those stinkers! Oh well.
I'm Watching a Chic Flick
I'm watching Pride and Predujice right now and this will be the 2nd time I've seen it. This is such a romantic movie. It's a lot like Sense & Sensibility. I love the ending. Feel free to comment on some of your favorite chic flicks! I'm in a Chic Flick kind of a mood right now.
Feeling Grateful for..........
Today I am feeling so grateful for a lot of things.
#1-My beautiful son Dominic
#2-My sweet husband
#3-My calling as 2nd counselor in the Primary Presidency
#4-My relationship w/Vince
#5-My friends
#6-Being a home owner
#7-My parents
#8-My relationship w/my little sister-the newlywed
I am having all the grateful feelings today. It's one of those days where Vince & I both can't believe we are Dominic's Mommy & Daddy. He is such a sweet little boy. He is doing so good in nursery! I am very proud of him. It's been really nice now that he's walking. He's been having some falls, associated w/that big head of his.
I am finally settling down in my calling in the ward. It's been about 4 months since I was last called and then today I was released and then re-called to the same calling.
It's nice to reflect on the things you're grateful for once in a while & so I post this today.
Until next time.

Working Mom's vs stay-at-home Mom's.....
Today at work I walked in the lunchroom and one of my co-workers made the comment that she wanted to start a sewing project, but was too busy to do, so she was thinking of asking someone else to do it. That's when I walked in and one of my other Co-workers pointed at me and said "she can do it, she only works part-time". I jokingly but really serious, said hello, I am a part-time stay-at-home Mom too; I'm always working. She laughed and said "yeah, right". I'm sorry but she pissed me off. I am always tired and don't get to relax until Dom goes to bed. I want to be a Full-time stay-at-home Mom so bad, but it's not time yet (finacially). It just erks me that a lot of people don't get how hard stay-at-home mom's work. Part-time or Full-time. It's hard, tiring, yet rewarding job. I can't say how much I love teaching and watching Dom grow. I have to say that Jandre-who watches Dom-does a fantastic job. Our boys are growing so close. So basically, I think that whether you are a working Mom or Stay at home mom, you are working just a hard as the other. Hey, we're Mom's!

Brrrrrrr! It's getting cold
Ok, so I am so cold right now in my own house. No, the heat is not on nor do I want to start upping the electric bill just yet. But I can't hold out for much longer. It's 65 degrees right now in the house! I had to put a heater in Little Bug's room tonight because his hands were ice cold this morning. My hands are very cold at this moment!
Speaking of cold, I went to Other Mother's on Monday and bought 2 winter coates, two pairs of boots, 2 pairs of hats w/gloves, & 2 snow suits. All of this was $50! Such a good deal! I bought stuff for my friend's son-Logan (Dom's buddy). Here are some photos of the boys in all their getup!

A New Hair Cut is always good
Jandre gave Little Bug a hair cut today. This will be his 3rd one and well overdo. It's always nice to get a new hair cut. He looks so handsome and you think his eyes are big, just look at him when his hair it cut. They just pop right out!

Ward Changes
So I guess we are still in LH ward, but we have to go all the way up to 63rd and Regal! We are 5 blocks North of Euclid (border). So that's a long drive for us. I am excited that we will be in the new building, but not happy about the drive.
We also lost the Primary President, so I'm not sure how much longer I'll have this calling. I've only had it for a couple months and I really like it. We'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks.
The Fair!
So we went to the Fair on Saturday. We went with my Brother and his family. Dominic loved seeing the animals and got to hear some nice noises from a Donkey and the Horse behind it. I had a King Corn Dog (OMG-SO YUMMY)! We saw some kids doing gymnastics and that was pretty cool. We tried to get some $ from an ATM, but it was broken, so Vince had to go find another one. We arrived at 7pm and didn't leave till almost 11pm! Dominic fell asleep in his stroller towards the end. I also had some freshly made cotten candy! So that was our adventure at the Fair this year.

Fun Times
Dominic is at such a fun age! He makes us laugh all the time with his jibber jabber. It amazes me how well he understands us. I'll say "Dominic, stand up and walk to Mommy", and he does it. I just love watching him learn to walk. He is very careful and laughs when he falls down. He is getting better and better and standing up on his own.

I have been waiting for 19 months for this to happen. He gets so excited when he walks too. We make a huge deal about it. He looks so cute to walk since he's such a small fry. He is the funnest little boy ever!!! WE LOVE HIM TO PIECES!

Catching Up
I am finding out just how time consuming blogging is. So here's what I've been up to since my last blog.
Vince has a new Niece!! Lucy Lynn Pendergrass was born on Sept 4th @ 7:30 ish am. She was 6lbs 11oz, 20 inches long. She's beautiful! She is the 2nd grandchild on Vince's side of the family and the first girl. I have never seen Vince so proud to be an uncle as he is now! Check out her picture!
Lucy Lynn Pendergrass
My sister finally got hitched two Saturday's ago. She is back from her Honeymoon (Florida) and her new husband and she are moving into their first apartment!! They are so excited!
Labor Day weekend: It's kind of a tradition now to spend LD in Moscow with my two brothers and their families. We had a lot of fun! We went bowling with our kids. It was only $4 per game! We played 3. My best score was 115!! We also went to the Aquatic Center (smaller than Splash Down). It was so fun! It's very toddler friendly and has a small lazy river. There are two slides; one where you can go down in tube (double or single). I went on this one 3 times with my bro. Eric. It was a fun weekend!
Enjoy some pics of my Nieces & Nephew:

Dominic is continuing to grow and learn new things. He listens very well, but sometimes choses to ignore us. Typicall, I know. He has now learned to stand up on his own and takes 2-3 steps on his own. We just tought him the sign for saying "please" and are working on "thankyou". He is doing well with the "please" sign. He's also learning how to fold his arms for prayer too. He loves giving us kisses and hugs! He is such a sweet little boy. Needless to say we are having so much fun with "Little Bug" (our nickname for him).
Here are some recent photos of Dominic:
