long days

Sometimes my days are too long and I run out of things to do.

Like when it is cold and cloudy outside and all I want to do is be cuddled up inside with a blanket and good book and do nothing anyway. (currently my book is In Our Time by Hemingway)

Or when I cleaned the house yesterday (yes there are just the two of us so it stays clean..)

Job hunted. Grr.

When Mike is going to be at school until 8 probably. YUCK. I'm used to him being home by now..its 4:30!

When I've already done laundry.

Already played guitar.

When I have read every family member and friends blog.

When I have recipe searched for over an hour.

When I have now called Kri (no answer=angry message) & Brook (in the library..will call me back), and Kyle called ME (he should be awarded)

Worked on some craft projects. (decorations, new cookbook)

I could go on. I need either some new hobbies or some friends. haha thank goodness for baking. And netflix. The day seems a lot longer when yesterday we went on a little dinner/movie date and spent a lot of quality Allie/Mike time together.

Also can't wait for conference weekend!! We are going home to Portland. Way more fun than trying to get the video stream online and plugging our laptop into our tiny TV. Hopefully mama will make some yum cinnamon rolls. Or in the very least there will be some conference BINGO with the nieces. :) gotta love traditions.

Home Improvement

If anyone didn't see my facebook post..some of our WEDDING PICTURES are on my sisters blog here! She is the best.

So Mike and I were ROBOTS last week and got a lot of little improvements (that have been on our enormous to-do list) done around the apartment. And when I say a lot...I really mean it.

Little craft project. (yes i realize that my pictures are crappy...I couldn't find my real camera..I have since found it) I found this cardboard E at Joanne's for $3. Spray painted it red and then wrapped it in twine. Easy peasy. The "families are forever" plaque was given to us as a wedding present.

New towel hooks. And a freshly painted bathroom. New shower curtain..thank you tons of Target gift cards. Haha

And the final, way more impressive project...

New faucet! This is in our guest bathroom. We haven't put the new one in our bathroom yet.

Old sink vs. New sink

We are feeling pretty good about our place. Especially now that we have a bed!

We have had a mattress but we finally got a frame. No more sleeping on the floor :) Lovely.

Thank YOUUU

Ok. I think I am destined to be the WORST blogger known to man. However my dear husband feels it is super important that I try :) Ha so here goes...

First I want to say THANK YOU.

(us at our ML reception)

Everyone that helped with the wedding..and really even if you didn't help..thanks everyone for all of your support. (And yes...I am still working on my actual thank you's...I am serious when I say I suck.)

So to backtrack a little bit..

We got married in the Portland Oregon temple. Yay :) It was a long time coming. Haha

Those are just a few of our faves.

We then went on quick honeymoon to Vegas baby. Which of course we took like two pictures of. We went to a couple of really cool shows though..but most likely everyone that is reading this has heard all about that. haha

We lived with Justin and Angelique for about a month..bless them. It really was a blast and I really miss girl talk every day with Angelique! (Yep..no pictures of that either)

Then comes our move to Idaho. Oh Idaho. How I am trying to love you..but in all honesty we are enjoying it here. We LOVE our apartment. Two bedroom, two full bath, and a huge kitchen and living room. I'm trying to slowly decorate..eh.

Mike is a month deep in law school now. So there is a lot of this..

But the first couple weeks here looked a lot like this..

(ok they still do)

And Mike makes sure to get a few of these in when he can..

He really is the hardest worker I know. I have no idea how he does it. He makes it look so easy! While he is busy busy with law school and all of the reading he has to do (you saw the books) my time is consumed with job-hunting/cooking/too much baking/working on the house/decorating ish/watching too much hulu/waiting for  mike to get home..what I mean by that is it's boring without my new husband! I hope my fam isn't sick of all my phonecalls just yet.

This is what our house is beginning to look like..

(notice the flowers mike brought home for me for our two month anniversary)

Not too bad. I am almost done repainting the whole apartment..more decorating to come. We have gone to Moses Lake and Portland and each time we have come back with something for the house. Whether it be a TON of furniture from ML (thanks Doug and Connie) or some handy pillows made from extra wedding fabric compliments of my mom <3 or even some ikea finds we are slowly making our house feel more like a home.

I love being married. I would recommend it to anyone ;)
