Introducing Myself

Dear Family and Friends,

I'm finally here! I made my offical debut on May 20th at 3:05 in the morning. My mom was SSOO relieved. She thought I was never coming. I weighed 7.1 lbs and was 21 inches.

So this is me:

I'm totally cute huh?

Here's when I met my older sisters for the first time. They adore me. My dad can't get enough of me either.

Adalyn and Mieley like to hold me a lot. Especially Adalyn. She would hold me all day if mom would let her (and if she's not side-tracked by playing with her friends outside.) Mieley holds me carefully for about 10 or 15 minutes and then is done. I know they love me though and are so excited to see me. I love them too.

When mom and I came home, Grandma B. and my sisters made us a welcome home sign. That was fun of them.

But the biggest suprise was that my dad bought my mom a new couch and glider and had it delivered within the hour that we came home from the hospital. Mom was thrilled! She hated the old couch. It was so ugly! Dad had a hard time seeing it go - he loved it. Poor dad.

Please give my mom some slack for not getting pictures up sooner. Her life has been very busy since we came home. Dad's super busy again too since the Memorial Day weekend kicks off his ice part of the business and mom had to catch up with the books for the business. Plus my older sisters never stay in one place for long and as you many of you would know - I like to keep mom up at night. Luckily, Grandma B. came and stayed for a few days to help mom. Thanks so much Grandma! We miss you already!

I'm happy to be here in this world and with my family. I'm am really grateful that families are forever. I'm looking forward to meeting you all!

Love,
Tora

Beautified Back Yard

Usually I'm a little quicker to getting flowers planted and our little back patio cleaned up, but this year I was going to wait until after the baby came. But with a lot of help from Adam, we got our back patio all summer-licious in five easy steps:

Step One:
Realize how ugly your back yard is.

Step Two:
Have your husband take two little girls out and buy flowers for Mother's Day.

Step Three:
Have your husband weed the flower bed. Salvage the remaining two plants that survived the cold winter.

Step Four:
Wait a week for the Idaho wind to stop blowing for a couple hours, race outside, and plant away. (Cross your fingers that planting all these flowers will put me into labor by tonight. . .probably not though.)

*Cute girls not included with flower purchase. They're non-refundable.

Step Five:
With sun, water, and some luck, hopefully have a beautiful flower bed in a month or so.

Thanks Adam, Adalyn, and Mieley for the flowers and all the help!

Baby Update #3

So the good news is that the receptionist at the front desk now recognizes me before I even walk in the door and pulls my chart out without me having to say a word.

The bad news is that this baby still isn't interested in coming. I have another doctor's appointment Wednesday and then a tentative scheduled induction for next Friday.

The undecided news is that the doctor who is scheduled to do the induction, I've NEVER met. He's a new doctor in where I go. He may be good, he may not. And I'm still unsure about an induction. Adalyn came naturally, Mieley was an induction. I'd rather go naturally.

My emotions are a mess right now. Sorry if I seem out of whack - but what can I say, I am out of whack and these doctor visits aren't helping.

Have a lovely day. Atleast the sun is shining here today.

D Day

What's D Day you might ask?

Well it can be many things. For example:

*Due Date Day
*Deliver your baby today Day
*Daughter Debut Day

But nooooo, now it's
*Dooms Day
*Fall into Deep Depression Day
*Going to start Drinking Day

Okay, I'm really not depressed, but I'm (way past) starting to get very anxious/frustrated/annoyed that this baby hasn't made her appearance yet.

Last night I even made a peace offering for her - I made her birthday cupcakes:

But the smarty pants (without the pants) must know that in order for her to enjoy the cupcakes, she has to let me eat them while she stays in the comfort of her little fortress.

So all in all, I'm trying to remain optimistic, but I'm starting to feel like this: (Adalyn's my model for now)

All I have left to say is she's pressing her luck for coming naturally. If she remains stubborn much longer, I'm going to force her out whether she's ready or not. I go to the doctor again tomorrow, so I'll let you all in on the update later.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! For those of you that don't have kids, Happy Mother's Day to you too! I believe Mother's Day is a celebration for all women - whether you have your own children or not. (You can always borrow mine if you want. Wink, wink) However, I had no idea how much my mom did for me, until I had children myself.

I am so grateful for the two main moms in my life. Adam and I wouldn't be who we are without them. I'm so glad that they are both a HUGE part of our lives, and hope that that will ALWAYS be the case.

There's a commercial playing right now, and it says something to the effect that being called a mom is the best 3 letter word you could ever be called. I totally agree! I LOVE being a mom, and hope that someday my kids can look back and say they had a mom that would play and laugh with them. One that taught them about the gospel and to work hard in school. One that taught them to be good citizens and love their country. One that taught them to be happy even when all hope seems gone. I can honestly say that my mom taught me all those things (and ssoo much more), and I know Adam's mom taught him those things too.

Happy Mother's Day.

Now could someone please inform this baby of mine that the best Mother's Day present would be for her to make her debut into this world??? Though my mom tried - and now my kids try - to teach me patience, it is not my forte.

Growing Up

Today was Adalyn's first day of preschool. She LOVED it! The teachers asked me if Adalyn had been in preschool before because she did so good today. Adalyn hasn't, but she's been wanting to go to school for about a year now. I hope she keeps this attitude up for many years to come!

My two big girls! Adalyn in preschool and Mieley in speech therapy "school" - good thing I'm having another one or I think I'd be having a really hard time with all of this.

In the car, as happy as a clam!

Mieley in the car with her book bag. She didn't want to be left out even though Adalyn was the only one going to school today.

Baby Update

Just got back from the doctor . . .

This baby's in it for the long haul! She still up there floating around. Blah. I'm looking at atleast one more week, but probably more around two. I know that's my due date and all, but it would be nice to have her come a little bit early!!!
