we got lucky. simple as that. pete knew a guy. we got to stay in the senators suite at Caesars palace. It is a long story, it has to do with pete working, and having to be on site. We were upgraded by Pete's friend. We were there for two wonderful days. enjoy, I did.

the race

Pete had Silverman this last week. For those of you who don't know, it is a triathlon that goes from the lake and ends in henderson. It is long, uphill and takes forever if you are a spectator. First he swam, swims? swum? 1.2 miles, then bikes 56 miles, and finishes it off running 13.1 miles (that is half a marathon)
Many have asked me why, why does he do this to himself... well he has endurance, a true athletes heart, and amazing self-discipline. DON"T tell him I said that. If he happened to be around when you asked, I'd say he is crazy, plain and simple. He does seven or so triathlons every year, and this one was his season finale. Next year he will do the FULL Ironman. That is 2.4 miles swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 miles run. He is amazing, and I love him so much. So do his boys, they adore him.

it was the most beautiful day at the park today, we pulled up a tree in the shade, ate pretzels, & brock ran through the water. The breeze was cool. It was one of those days you appreciate the beauty of eyelashes and baby ears!

I think I love you...

my sweet husband bought me the most amazing camera! I am so excited to get it in the mail!!! I have been tracking it on UPS.com and it comes tomorrow! Don't think I won't be home ALL DAY on pins an needles waiting on it! In other news. I stared weight watchers on Saturday. I also quit drinking soda. I felt really horrible for two days. Now I only feel slightly horrible. I have one month until the navy ball on october 17th. I just want to weigh a little less, and buy a pretty dress. I'm going to take it one week at a time. SO far I've lost 6 lbs. I think that is all soda weight though!

Extreme Home Makeover

I am in this MOST AWESOME online group called extreme home makeover. It is like a class with a support group. We all chat, and get lessons and in 10 weeks your house is supposed to look bad!@* and streamlined, well I am in week nine, and let me tell you, it TOTALLY worked. I have all the laundry done, the house gutted of C R A P. And I am only a little worse for wear. I highly recommend it if you have some de-cluttering to do. I am now going to join the Make Today Matter group, with the same people. I drank the Brook Noel Kool-Aid, and it is delicious.

Lady

Just remembering the most wonderful dog that every lived. She was my baby when I could not have any. She was a great little girl. A little naughty to. I miss my sweet girl.

My gene pool made this

I think it is safe to say that Brock comes from my Gene pool, he is bright, funny, and knows how to really make people laugh. I told him to go get ready for school. He sometimes takes of his night time diaper & forgets to get some pull-ups & pants on (minor detail) but, mostly he does this on purpose because I laughed so hard the first time, now he will do this every now and then. But the kicker was his hat, and brushing his teeth. Then when he saw me with the camera, he did what came naturally. Completely unconcerned about being half bare a*! naked, he said, "take a picture of this" and promptly stuck his suction cup toothbrush to his head ( his father taught him that, which is a whole other boys will be boys thing) he was so delighted, he completely forgot about his first joke, being pantless joe. I was laughing so hard. Oh, my sweet, funny doodle.

Your Song....

Pete and I never really had a song, reading my friends blog, she and her husband had just finally found their song.
I laughed, because at our wedding we danced to "Let's stay together" by marvin gaye. I love that song, but in never really fit us. We were just being polite, I mean ultimately you can't slow dance to much by DMB, which is our favorite band.
Well, we finally found our song a few years ago. It is perfect for us. The words are all about us, it is different, the sweet guitar and awesome singing brings it home. What is your song???

Adventure at the springs preserve

We had a lot of fun going to the springs preserve, although, at the end the kids were D O N E! And everyone needed a nap, it was hot out!

Swimming Day

Fun swim day! The boys had such a great time splashing in the little pool, the dolphin "spits" water and the boys would fill up cups, and pour them out. They also pretended to stir the soup, and make chocolate milk.
