Ethan's Baptism!

Look at that cute kid- he was so excited for his baptism. As the kids have been baptized, they sometimes will tell me how it feels: "I felt warm", for example. I especially liked Ethan's example of feeling the Holy Ghost: he felt "full".

It is an amazing thing to know that my child has the gift of the Holy Ghost- it gives me a wonderful feeling of security to know that he can have the Spirit with him all the time. I love to watch my children develop their own relationships with their Heavenly Father.

I am also so grateful for a husband who is worthy to baptize and confirm our children. I am so blessed to be on this journey with him.

Lacrosse!

I really didn't know what to expect from the boy's first game- I mostly sat there and laughed as I watched these skinny 5th and 6th graders push each other around. I don't think the boys knew what to expect either, but they have caught on pretty fast. Yesterday they had their third game, and they won! When we were getting all their gear so they could play, I was getting annoyed with everything they needed: mouth guard, helmet, gloves, arm guards, chest and shoulder pads, etc.... but when they get out there I'm sure glad they have that padding! The only problem is that those skinny shins are bare- keep those sticks up, boys! My favorite part of the uniform is the gloves- they look like Incredible Hulk hands or something. Eleven year old boys are fun... when they're not completely exasperating.

Ethan's Birthday Party

Anyone know how to turn off underline? Until then, sorry- you'll just have to live with it. Last week I experienced a momentary (but increasingly frequent) lapse of sanity, and decided to hold Ethan's birthday party on the same day as his baptism. We also had a lacrosse game that day. Everything went well, but I really shouldn't do that again- I was way too stressed and exhausted by the end of the day.

So here are the birthday party pics: Ethan mapped out the general idea, Tim filled in the gaps. The party was "Lewis and Clark" themed, so we had it at the park and sent the kids on explorer missions- Tim made them an explorer's journal to fill out, and it kept them all busy for a long time. We also made "coonskin caps" out of posterboard (hey- I was desperate), and ate cupcakes decorated like compasses. It was fun, and I was glad when it was over.

I had to include a picture of my cute husband. And look- no more underline! Unfortunately, I still don't know why.
