Kinlee Jo is FOUR!

My little girl is growing up! I can't believe she is four today. Kinlee is such a fun little girl to have around. She is constantly making us laugh with her funny little (okay big) personality. She talks up a storm and everyone who hears her talk says they can't believe that vocabulary is coming out of such a little thing. She is 4 going on 16. Oh boy. My sweet girl is going to be the BEST big sister. She talks about being a big sis every day and is always trying to be a little mom to any kids around her. This morning when she crawled in bed with us we said "Happy Birthday baby girl!! You are four today!" And her response was "But Mom, my legs aren't longer yet! I'm not four yet!" Chris and I laughed. Then she kept saying things like "Well, if its my birthday then where are all the people?" I basically spent my morning convincing her that yes, it was her birthday and that we had her party on Saturday. We have family coming over tonight for cupcakes and presents, but she still thinks she should have magically gotten taller over night so that she could "feel" four. Too funny. Here is a picture of her this morning before preschool at Ms. Trudi's.

We let her open a new outfit before school today, so she opened her shoes, t-shirt and sweatshirt. Daddy picked out her shoes and she loves them. Yesterday she had a dress rehearsal for her Spring dance recital that is coming up. Here are some pictures from her Arial costume.

This little stinker on the far left refused to pose like everyone else. There was no face touching to be had by her. Stubborn little thing!

Time goes by way too fast. The only thing baby left about this girl is that she still loves her blankie, still sucks her thumb, and she still takes naps for mommy. She can usually go a day or two with out one, but little Miss cranky pants sure does come out. I sure am lucky to be her mama. Her Daddy and I love her more than words! Happy Birthday baby girl!!

Kinlee Jo's 2nd Birthday

My baby girl turned two on May 7th. I can't believe how quickly that went by! Kinlee is such a blessing in our family. She is ALL girl...she loves babies, barbies, make-up, blankies, shoes, you name it. She definitely isn't our mellow girl anymore...she has a fiesty, naughty, and very curious side. Of course this girl learned how to open up child-locked cupboards and doors before her older brother even did. Go figure. My little smarty pants learns something new everyday. She is communicating in full on sentences and has been for quite awhile. I think girls develop a little quicker than boys mentally. I don't remember Corbin communicating this well when he was two. I am constantly running around trying to keep up with this girl. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I love my little chatter box! And even though my kids aren't quite "best friends" yet...I haven't lost hope and I know ONE day they will get along and not fight. :) Love you baby, hope you loved your birthday!

The things kids say...

Corbin (yelling from the other room): "Mom! Can you come grab this box for me? It's heavy!"
Me: "yeah, I'll be right there"
Corbin: "hurry! I'm not gonna hold it all day!"

This little boy is such an amazing little guy. I feel so lucky that I get to be his momma. He is such a little smarty pants and makes me laugh every day. He asks to go to the cabin about every other day. When I tell him we can't go yet he will say "okay, can we go next week?". If he finds a toy he forgot about he will say "I've been looking for this all day!!" We have been working on our manners, which he is really good at. But if he ever forgets to say please or thank you I always say "What do you say?"...so I asked him to go grab me a diaper for Kinlee the other day and he ran and got it for me and apparently I forgot to say thank you. He turns to me and goes "Now, what to you tell me mom?" haha well he sure caught me on that one! oops. We are so proud of him and all he has accomplished this year. He learned how to go potty all by himself this summer and he has done such a great job. He NEVER pees the bed at nap time, or at bed time. He is a good helper and picks up his toys all by himself. (When he wants to, of course). He is a great big brother to Kinlee (most of the time) and makes sure no one messes with her. He doesn't let anyone steal her toys, except him...lol. He tells me daily "Momma, I like you." I love it. Corb always has to have a hug and a kiss whenever Mom or Dad leaves the house. If you forget, he cries for a half hour. So don't forget. :) He loves watching movies, and all things dinosaur. His preschool teacher, Mrs. Douglas was telling me how much he has improved since the beginning of the school year. Her words, "He will actually color more than a scribble now...and has branched out to other colors besides grey." haha thats my little Corbin boy. He's a stubborn little guy and comes around on his own time. He can almost count to 20 now and he knows all of his colors. (Colors were a big deal because we were starting to think he was color blind...turns out he is not color blind in the least). I love my little sidekick and am so proud of all his accomplishments. Thanks for loving your imperfect Mommy :)
