Christmas eve

So on Christmas Eve, I had to stay home with Peyton who was a little under the weather, and Kevin took Halli to a winter wonderland being held at a local church. Halli was able to play in the snow and make a snow angel. She was so excited to see the snow, she's been asking for the past few weeks when it was going to snow, and even on christmas morning, on the way to grandma's house, she asked where the snow was. Poor thing just doesn't understand that it doesn't snow in Houston. But, as you can see, we can always have it shipped in and enjoy the snow right here!
Smiling pretty for the camera.

Halli and her cousins, Kylie & Savannah. I understand that they weren't quite as thrilled with the snow as Halli was.

Update

So, since it had been awhile since I wrote, I thought I would write about what happened in our lives since the car accident. For two weeks we were waiting to get a new car, since the Montero was totalled. It really was a minor car accident that happened to total the car. We couldn't buy a car at that time because we were scheduled to close on our new home within a week or so, and you can't have any new loans added to your credit or the loan companies may just back out at the last minute. This brought us to December 1st, we closed on our house that morning and drove straight from there to the car dealership where we picked up our new honda oddysey. I LOVE my new minivan (I never thought I would be saying those words).

So we moved into our house and Since I'm in the primary presidency and I'm over teacher support, we had scheduled a teachers inservice at my new home two weeks after we had moved in. I really didn't know if I was just plain crazy or not, but it turned out pretty well. We unpacked pretty quickly and got christmas up just in time for the little party. It all went so well, and I was so glad to have had that extra motivation! Halli loves her new home and her new car and she voices that opinion fairly often, it's pretty cute. Peyton is just getting used to going up and down the stairs all the time, but I think she's handling it pretty well.

Also, just two days ago I had another dr.'s appt and had another ultrasound done where I was able to see the baby again! This is one active baby, I don't think I ever saw the other two move so much during an ultrasound. The baby was kicking and waving its arms and it flipped right over too! It was very precious to see that. We also set a date for our 20 week, where we'll find out the sex. Kevin is positive it's a boy, I just don't want him to get his hopes up too high. But we'll soon know!

Other than all that good stuff, its just been a busy Christmas season, I officially bought my last present today and I'm done! well, except for the wrapping which is what I should be doing right now, but that's no fun. But I'm really looking forward to Christmas morning and seeing Halli so excited. I love that she in anticipating Christmas so much more this year, it really makes it seems a little more magical, that pure belief in Santa. She asked for an Ariel Counter for her kitchen the other day, and I said that I don't know if they make that. She looked at me like I was crazy and said, "the elves can't make that?" I had been put in my place. If only I could remember how it felt to believe in santa so firmly.

funny Moments

Okay, I don't know if its the pregnancy, Christmas, or just me being a wimp, but today I'm exhausted. I just want to go to sleep and not wake up till tomorrow afternoon. Unfortunately, I have two little girls to watch so I can't. Also, unfortunately for them, this makes me a crabby mommy. I have been a little snappy at the girls, meaning Halli, this afternoon while we were at the store. She has plenty of energy and could run around for hours, I on the other hand just want to get the shopping done and get out of there. Well, when we got home, I told the girls to go inside and Halli was pretending to be a cat. I don't know if you know it, but when kids pretend to be animals, they tend to move slightly slow! I did not like this and wanted her inside! Then I noticed Peyton who decided to do what big sis was doing and she was on her hands and knees as well. As I continued to bring groceries inside, I watched the girls crawl up the walk way and Halli proceeded to curl up on the door mat, and when Peyton saw her do that she laid down on the side walk too! It really was a cute moment and made me sit back and realize that even when I'm not so excited with what they're choosing to do, they are so cute and funny.

Late night

So last night went a little later than I had anticipated. I left the house around 7pm with Peyton in tow to pick up a christmas gift for halli. The place we went to was about 30 min away, so it wasn't exactly a short trip. Peyton was being so good considering she had been strapped into her carseat for so long, and when we were less than 5 min. from home, the unthinkable happened. I was talking to my sis on the phone, a no-no, i know, but I was stopped at a red light, and then we were hit from behind. Peyton let out a little scream as it startled her, but she was fine.

It was almost 8:30 when this happened, and the cops, who were worried i'm sure, rushed to the scene within a half an hour. Kinda long response time, but the wreckers were there within minutes. Kevin came down as soon as I convinced him that I wasn't lying, and at the same time he arrived, the Monsons showed up as well. Thank goodness for an ice cream craving, they were out late and just happened to drive by and see the accident. The Monsons were sweet and took the girls home for us, and Kevin and I sat at the scene for over an hour while the officer took care of all the paperwork.

I don't have any pictures yet, but I was rear ended on the left hand side. The other driver had been trying to switch lanes and swerved back and hit me. The bummper was pretty crushed and the tail lights were hanging by wires. and neither of the doors on the left side of the car would open. I'm just thankful Halli wasn't in the car. She was dramatic enough as it was. When she arrived with Kevin, she ran to the car and wanted to sit in it, and was giving it hugs. Then this morning when she came into our room the first thing she said was that she missed her car. Poor girl gets so attached to things.

So anyway, we got our rental car this morning, and now we just get to got through the process of getting the car fixed and dealing with insurance. isn't it fun? We are so looking forward to it!

Just like you

As the older sibling, you never can appreciate it when your little sis wants to be like you....But as a mom it is the cutest thing ever! As the girls were brushing their teeth tonight, Halli was sitting on the counter and Peyton was standing on the stool, and Peyton wants to copy Halli in everything. After I had finished brushing her teeth, Peyton got a hold of the tooth brush and proceeded to finish brushing. Just after Halli would lean over and spit, Peyton would hoist herself up to where she was leaning over the edge and pretend she was doing it too, although there was absolutely nothing in her mouth. She did it three or four times even after Halli had finished and left. Why do they want to grow up so fast?

Speaking of growing up, Peyton learned another word today! She was watching baby einstein, the first signs one and learned the sign for baby, although she has modified it a touch. She puts her arms out to the side and swings her body back and forth all the while saying "ba-be". She just kept repeating it, it was the cutest thing!

oh the joys of little girls!

So this morning, as I was getting ready, Halli walked into the bathroom and began to get into my drawers. She said she was putting lipstick on and I just looked at her real quick and nodded, you know we all do it when we're distracted with other things. A few seconds later I realized what she had said and quickly looked at her again, to realize that she was holding a bottle of nail polish.

She assured me she was just pretending, so I continued to get ready. About 5 minutes later she looks at me and says, "mom, its hot. Its hot on me mom." I have no idea what she's talking about, or what could be hot. The first thing i thought of was this lipstick that britt, Kate and I tried out one thanksgiving that makes your lips all tingly and its supposed to bring the blood to the surface making your lips red. But I don't own that lipstick, so what could it be?

She looks at me and her lips are bright red, and she's holding the nail polishing wand in her hand. I had no idea nail polish was hot, but now you do. It should not be worn as lipstick.

On a side note, I think peytons sick again. When she's on antibiotics she's totally fine, but a few days after going off she gets sick again. This has happened through two rounds now...Hopefully she can just get over it soon.

Halloween

We had a wonderful night last night. The evening started off with dinner at the grandparents house and babies everywhere. But it was so fun to see all the girls in their costumes.
After dinner we headed back to our neighborhood to do some trick or treating. Halli can be so funny when it comes to scary things. We were walking across the street from a house that was really decked out and she couldn't turn away. When we finally got over there she was terrified to go to the door. They had tarps up and a fog machine, I can definitly see how it was freaky to a four year old. But she managed to tough it out to get the candy, but getting out of there was a whole different story. Kevin had to carry her and the homeowners had to shine a flashlight to show her the way out.
Peyton was just along for the ride, and had fun holding her glow bracelet. She did manage to snag a couple pieces of candy and ate a tootsie roll, wrapper included. We had a great time and Halli was pretty much done for the night when we met up with Blake and his family, then she got her second wind, and we now have WAY too much candy in our house!
Gotta love a holiday thats all about the sweets!
Katelyn, the cheetah

Olivia & Rachel, the cutest chickens ever!

Kylie, the sweet ladybug

Savannah, another sweet ladybug

Well, Here we go!

So its my first post on my new blog! This should be a good experience and I really hope you all like it, (by you all, i mean mom....who else is gonna read it?) Hopefully this will be a good way to keep you posted on whats going on in our lives. Tomorrow I'll try to add some pictures of our new home. It's not finished yet, but we're patiently waiting.

Well, with halloween tomorrow, Halli is getting a little excited! So, since it's almost here, I'll post some pictures of the girls doing all the fun fall things we did this past month. Thankfully the weather is getting better and we're enjoying being outside a whole lot more.

These pictures are of the girls at the Oil Ranch. Yes, in Texas, we do the pumpkin patch in our summer clothes. Kinda different.

Halli was able to do a ton of fun things here, she rode a pony, went for a ride on a train, and got to milk a cow!

Peyton helping to clean the pumpkin out, Halli wouldn't put her hand in, but Peyton seemed to have alot of fun!
