2 weeks already

The last two weeks have been crazy.  Ellie is completely loved and doted upon.  Clara especially loves her, except when she has a messy diaper or is crying, which seems to be a lot.  Unfortunately Ellie has reflux, and has a bit of colic.  She struggles with being happy.  Most evenings our house is filled with a newborn crying and two other kids trying to hide from it.

Ellie is picky. She's picky about how she is held.  Picky about her diaper and when it needs to be changed, which happens to be right now every minute.  She seems to settle down when Clara talks to her.  Ellie doesn't know it yet, but she has a big brother and a big sister who are dying to play with her.

Luke is especially sweet with Ellie.  When he holds her, he tries to rock her and he tells her how cute she is.  I think he's over not having a baby brother, and loves Ellie to pieces.

Happy 4th Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Clara!  Our first princess turned 4!  We threw a small Hello Kitty birthday party for her with 3 friends.  Clara was so excited, almost too dramatic.  Having the spot light on her was just what she wanted!

We had kitty faces painted by Gilbert and kitty ears headbands for each friend.  We played pin the bow on the kitty and a ring toss.

Clara loves to have friends over and entertain.

Clara got to have swimming lessons on her birthday and the teachers made her extra special by having the whole class sing happy birthday to her.
Clara's favorite part of the day was probably the presents.  She loves presents!  She was completely spoiled by grandma with all of her favorite toys.

Clara is a cuddle bunny for sure.  She absolutely adores her daddy.  She loves to ride bikes and play with friends.  She's great a make believe or pretend play.  She is always playing and making up voices for each of her toys like all the toys are talking to each other.  Clara can also be very dramatic, and once she has her mind made up about something, that is it!  She has grown up so fast because she idolizes Luke and has always tried to keep pace with him.  She's done a great job at being his best friend and being the best play mates ever!  Clara is quick to catch onto things and doesn't let anything slip by.  She'll quickly tell you if you used a potty word, and also be quick to be sassy at any given moment.  She's terrified of anything that resembles a creepy crawly thing except rollie pollie bugs.  She loves to go looking for those and collect them.  She also like to collect rocks from anywhere we go.  She likes to dress up in princess accessories, not princess dresses.  She loves purses and make-up.  She's definitely all girl!

Ellie Worle

Our much anticipated little girl Ellie finally arrived.  She seemed content to stay in utero for ever, so unfortunately she was over due to come meet the world and had to be induced.  I was very nervous about being induced since it seemed so unnatural, but Ellie arrived in perfect condition.

She was very mad when she was born, but everyone knew how healthy she was because of how well and long she was screaming!  After about 20 minutes she finally calmed down.  By the time she got her first bath, it only made her mad again.  Thankfully she knows her mama, and calmed down as soon as she was being held.

When Ellie was about 5 hours old, we brought Luke and Clara to the hospital to meet their new little sister.  It was magical!  They were smitten with her the minute they walked into the room.

I remember sitting in the hospital holding my precious new baby feeling over whelmed with gratitude and appreciation for such a brand new miracle.

Luke and Clara are generally crazy kids, so teaching them to be soft and gentle with a new baby was quite the trick!  Ellie is loved by all for sure!

 Ellie's official stats were:
7lbs. 10 oz.
18 in. long
Born at 10:56 am
July 13, 2015

Ellie was born with more hair than both of her siblings combined!  She has a different look to her than Luke and Clara.  Ellie seems to favor Gilbert a bit more.  She certainly has his toes!

4th of July

Our 4th of July celebrations this year were super low key.  Opposite of epic that's for sure since we were waiting to have a baby any minute.  The kids didn't seem to mind.  They had their own personal fireworks show and we grilled hot dogs and corn on the cob.  Next year will be better celebrated.
