We went to Lava Hot Springs with Gilbert's family for the 4th of July. Idaho has unpredictable cold weather. We were originally going to float down the Portneurf River, but it was WAY TOO cold. We decided to head over to the famous Lava Hot Springs pool.
The entertainment for the day, was that some kid actually pooped in the pool. All the life guards had everyone move to one side of the pool. Then with a 25ft. pole and a net, the fished the "poop" out of the pool. Then they had us all wait for about 5 minutes, and then they told everyone they could go back to that side of the pool. Nobody seemed to care that the life guards had just fished poop out of that water. Kids were excited to swim back over to the poop water!
It was a fun trip, although it was a little cloudy and cold.
On Saturday the 4th, we were privileged to play with illegal fireworks my dad picked up somewhere in the mid-west. Gilbert was brave enough to be the victim and light up the show for us. It's always fun to have illegal fireworks! They came with their own launcher and everything! My dad was worried we would start things on fire, but it was a great uneventful night.
