A SLEEPOVER AT GRANDMA'S HOUSE

While her daddy was away for the week, Emma came and stayed with Grandma and Grandpa for the night to give mommy a break. We found a fun water play area in a South Ogden park for Emma -- just right to get her all tuckered out before bedtime.

Thanks for comin' to stay Emma.

FINALLY, A RESTFUL PLACE

After 30 years of marriage, and 22 years in our current home - we finally have a bedroom that we can be proud of.

The BEFORE picture is hard to see, but all I have to show you. Actually the room doesn't look too bad from this angle with the great headboard and nightstands Bryan built for us, But if you had seen just a year ago you would know how badly this room needed a makeover.

During
- 4 hours removing the wallpaper, thank heavens we only did one wall.

And the big finish - well almost, still need to get some pictures on the wall.

Gone is the old green wallpaper, the used mauve colored carpet, the boring lace curtains, the noisy, brass finish ceiling fan and the lumpy, bumpy mattress.

We love the color on the walls, the plush new carpet, the quiet fan (even on high) - and the new bed.!

But we love it!

SUMMER IS FINALLY HERE!

Carly and Jeff came up for the weekend - so glad you came for a visit!

Fortunately for us they came for fun. We usually spend Saturday working in the yard and getting all kinds of projects done, but they suggested a hike instead. We got a little bit of yard work done in the morning, and then in the afternoon headed up to Waterfall Canyon. We had a great hike. It was hot, and of course a good work-out. Bryan and I are a bit worried about being able to walk and get up and down stairs on Sunday, but we'll manage somehow. Even Sophie made it up to the trail. She has four tired legs and is beat just like the rest of us.

The canyon was very busy with lots of families and dogs all enjoying the great summer day.

Jeff decided he needed a little cooling down in the water. On the way down the trail, the kids all tried a little "skyping". Jeff, of course, is the master and was skyping almost the entire way home.

Saturday evening we enjoyed a barbecue in the backyard, even moving our old kitchen "picnic" style table and benches outside. We played games and then fired up the firepit that the kids had given us for Christmas. We sat under the stars, roasted marshmallows and told stories.

It was a great summer evening.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??

Okay, so the other day I'm at Walmart buying a variety of items.

As I'm checking out, the clerk asks, "Do you want to purchase the extended warranty?"

Then I ask, "On what?"

"The DVD."

The DVD!?!
A $7.50 DVD - Seven dollars and 50 cents!! are you kidding me?? I couldn't even say anything ---- I laughed.

Yes, I laughed and said, "On the seven dollars and 50 cents DVD?"

"Yes."

Now I'm standing there in disbelief, but I ask, "How much is the extended warranty?"

"$1.00."

"$1.00???"

"Yes, we have to ask."

SERIOUSLY?

No, I did not take advantage of the one year extended warranty - hope the DVD lasts.
