Christmas Vacation Begins!

It has been a while since I have posted because I have been crazy busy getting everything ready for Christmas. I leave today for NY with my mom to visit my sister and then to bring her back home for Christmas. Brad is being an amazing dad and watching the girls for me after working an all nighter last night. He is even going to drive 5 hours with them alone at one point. Hurray for Brad for letting me do this!
Just a note to all my friends in Boise, you must go see the christmas lights at 6211 W Parapet Ct in Boise. Stephanie Cooper told us about them and we went last night. The guy has three different light shows to music that rotate every night. So if you went three nights in a row you would see three different shows. It is really fun. You just pull up in your car and tune your radio to a certain radio station and listen and watch the show. My girls LOVED it. Especially Alex, she was dancing away. So anyway, check it out and let me know what you think. Just head down state st towards Boise and a few miles past home depot and winco turn left on Pierce Park (it is a light) and then right on parapet and go to the end of the culdesac. The shows starts at 7 and the last one starts at 10. I think it goes until 11 on weekends. It was about 15 minutes long.

Ridin' Cowboy

I just had to share these pictures of Brad that a coworker took. As mentioned in a previous post, the other night at Brad's work party they had a mechanical bull riding contest and anyone could enter but Brad wouldn't do it. All the guys who entered couldn't stay on for more then a few seconds. When it was over Brad went and did it and he ROCKED. He stayed on a lot longer then everyone else and he actually looked like he knew what he was doing. It is kinda like the time three years after we were married and I learned that Brad can play the piano. Now seven years after we are married I learned he can ride a bull. I don't now why I wouldn't just expect that seeing as he is from Burley but there is always a surprise with Brad. Good thing I like surprises.

Some catch up

Well it has been a crazy past week. We have both been so overwhelmingly busy lately. On top of the usual stuff (motherhood, household duties, framing) I was also busy because I was in charge of enrichment on Tuesday and it was my week for preschool. It really would not have been that big of a deal except I was also playing catchup because last weekend I couldn't get anything done because felt like I was on my death bed with lower quadrant abdominal pain. I thought it was an appendicitis and so did the doctors but after spending all day at the ER on Sunday and after multiple tests (blood tests, CT scan pelvic exam) it turned out to be an ovarian cyst. Who would have thought one could be that painful. They sent me home and really didn't do anything for me. The funny thing is they told me if I had severe abdominal pain and a fever to come back. Hello! That is why I was there in the first place and you were sending me home that way so what good would it do to come back? Sometimes I get so peeved by doctors. So anyway It took a couple of days to recover and on top of that I never saw my husband. He was stressed with a crisis at work and worked 70 hours last week. Thanks to good friends I could cry a little to I got through it all. This week will probably be the same way. At least we were able to have a nice weekend and recoup a little before another crazy week begins.
Here are a couple of picture and stories from this past week-

Alex has been really funny lately. She has figured out that she really likes it when people laugh at her and she is figuring out her own sense of humor. It is fun to watch it develop. Most of you know this but to preface these pictures you have to understand that Ayden is usually seen with her fingers in her mouth and her blanket over her shoulder. Alex has a blanket too but she has a pacifier. Anyway, the other day she got a hold of Ayden's blanket (which is quite remarkable by itself) and then she was running around the house pretending she was Ayden with a huge smile on her face. You could just tell that she thought she was so funny.


Another little thing about Alex lately is she has discovered a love for Kix cereal. I know this is silly but I used to LOVE kix as a kid (probably because it was the closest to sugar cereal my mom would buy) and I remember a while back buying it for Ayden because I thought she would love it just like I did. But no. She didn't like kix at all and I was puzzled. Recently I introduced them to Alex and she is more estatic about them then you can imagine. When she see's the box she yells Yea! and giggles and claps and then when she gets her bowl she scarfs it down. It cracks me up.

We went to our ward Christmas party yesterday so the girls could see Santa. Ayden was so excited to see him and could not wait to tell him that she wanted "three little dress ups." There was no fooling around with her. Once she got on his lap and started a very serious discussion about what she wanted.


Alex was not sure about him at all. She was very concerned the whole time we were waiting in line and then would not go near him. She held on to me for dear life leaving no way for me to place her on his lap.

Bradly Lewis Terry

I was tagged again, this time by my friend Rachel, but this time it was about my husband so it was fun to do.

1. What is his name? Bradly Lewis Terry (that is right no “e” in Bradly).
2. How long have you been married? It was 6 years in August.
3. How long did you date? We dated for six months, engaged for four and we were married almost exactly a year after we first met.
4. Who eats more? Me. He can go a whole day and just forget to eat. It drives me crazy because I schedule my life around when I get to eat next. The other thing that drives me crazy is that he rarely thinks he is hungry. Once he starts eating he must realize that he was because he will eat a ton but since his meals are pretty far and few between I think overall I eat more. This has gotten better since when we first met but it is still a bit of an issue.
5. Who said I love you first? Honesty I don’t remember. I think he did on accident one time really early in our relationship while we were on the phone and it just came out at the end of the conversation but the real first “I love you,” I don’t know. I do know that I think we loved each other from the minute we met. There was just something that felt like we understood each other and that we were supposed to be together. I knew I was going to marry him the very first time I saw him (I just had to get rid of a serious boyfriend of two years first).
6. Who sings better? Brad most defiantly, hands down.
7. Who is taller? Brad by three or four inches.
8. Whose temper is worse? Brad would be really surprised to read this but I think it is almost even. Anyone who knows Brad would assume it would be Brad but his temper has cooled a lot and I think mine has just gotten worse.
9. Who does the laundry? Me, Brad hates laundry. It is the one thing he does not do. He will help me fold if I beg him and he will throw in a load of his jeans if he is desperate but other than that I do it.
10. Who does the dishes? Mostly me but Brad does them a lot.
11. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do. We have switched a couple of times in our marriage though. It isn’t stuck either way. My parents have slept on the same sides for thirty years. In the summer time I would say that we both sleep on the right side because Brad wants to keep his side cold so he squishes with me until he is about to fall asleep and then rolls over on his “cold space” and falls asleep.
12. Who does the cooking? That is totally shared. Brad is a great cook and is always willing to throw dinner together if he comes home and I have not done it yet. His specialty is breakfast food. He takes after his mom.
13. Who is more stubborn? That is probably even but Brad would say me.
14. Who proposed? Brad did after having the ring for three months, and let me tell you it was very original.
15. Who is more likely to admit when they are wrong? We are probably the same on this one too but once again Brad would say that he is.
16. Whose parents do you see the most? Probably mine.
17. Who pays the bills? I write the checks and mail them off but Brad’s job actually pays them.
18. Who wears the pants in the family? Me, sometimes I let Brad think he does.
19. Why do you love your husband? I love Brad because he is one amazing man. He is a self made man who against odds has made one amazing life for himself. Because he is the first in his family to graduate from college and he did it all by himself. Because he has a really good heart and really has a desire for good. Because he loves me and is committed to me. Because he is extremely smart and he is a very hard worker and I know he will always take care of the girls and me. Because he is a great father and the proof of that is how much our little girls adore him. And most importantly because he was the best mechanical bull rider at his work party tonight. Oh, so HOT!

Star Sightings

Okay, I admit it, I am a huge dork for doing this. Especially on a Saterday afternoon. To my defense, it is yucky outside and Brad is at work. And yet I know there are still better things for me to do and that is what makes me a dork. Yesterday I heard on the news that Evil Knievel died and it reminded me of the time I worked at a phone center and was talking to someone named Robbie Knievel and I asked him if he was Evil Knievel. He told me that he was his son and I thought that was pretty cool. I also spoke with President George W. Bush's security guard and found a way to get a treadmill technician to an air force base so he could fix the Presidents treadmill before they took off overseas. That made me think about all the other encounters I have had with famous people so I thought it would be funny to document all of it. Here it goes in no particular order but just to warn you, some of them are pretty lame.

Margaret Thatcher- I met her at a grocery store and actually had a conversation with her about ice cream.
Dr. Phil Mcgraw- Brad and I had a long conversation with this dude.
Dr. Robert Rey- I met him at church in L.A while I was visiting my Brother. I was chasing my nephew Axel in the hallway and he was doing the same thing with his kids.

Steve Young-Once again, I met him at church. He had a house in Park City for a time and would come to our ward when he was in town. Once he called me a little sweety and gave me his autograph.

Jaleel White (Steve Urkel)- I met him at the grocery store by the butcher. He really wasn't that bad looking in person.

Tony Danza- I also met him at he grocery store on a couple of occasions actually. One time when I was younger and we were in line behind him and he made small talk with my mom and another time when I was there by myself once again behind him in line. (Man it seems like if you want to see someone go to the Albertson's or church in Park City).

Mitt Romney- Here it goes again, I met him at Church in Park City (my sister has baby sat for one of his grandkids too).

Air Supply- A kid I dated knew them and I met them at a beauty pageant they were playing in.

Robert Redford- I think I have met him a couple of times but one I remember is when we were hiking in Sundance and he passed us on the trail. He was polite and said hello to us.

Fabio- Brad and I saw him driving in a car next to us on the freeway in L.A.

Mrs. Fields- This one is kinda stupid but I grew up in Park City with Mrs. Fields kids and saw her on occasion before she moved. I have been in her closet and tried on her clothes from the 80's and 90's. My dad has done some architecture for her and her ex husband. Her daughter even called me the "B" word after she was eying Brad at a mutual friends wedding and found out he was my husband.

Cheech Marin- He MCed a couple of things at our high school.

Dennis Haskins- (principal Richard Belding on saved by the bell)- He was dating a friend of my parents and did an assembly at my high school. I shook his hand.

Karl Malone- He fell on me at a Jazz game once when we had front row seats.

Michael Jordan- I saw him golfing. I also saw the whole Bulls team (accept for Michael Jordan and Dennis Rodman) get off a bus at a hotel in Park City.


Julianne Hough (dancing with the stars two time winner)- My sister would probably be annoyed I put her here but she is a star now. Her father and Step mom live in my parents ward, so I have seen her at church. (once again, church. I have also seen one of Donny Osmond's Brothers at church but I don't know which one).

Hilary Swank-Brad and I passed her while walking down Rodeo Drive.


One of the Olsen Twins- We saw one of them run into a car and drive off while paparazzi was chasing her in L.A.
