Hadley's Rainbow Party

Hadley had a rainbow party for her 5th birthday. She has been planning it for a year. So, Saturday couldn't come fast enough for her. 

I wanted to keep this party a little simpler (my husband laughs). So, I made a rainbow by ruffling crepe streamers, put up a rainbow ceiling, and made a 6-layer rainbow cake.  Simple, right? Ha, ha. But, it was all worth it. 

My sister and mom came the night before because they would never miss something that important to my kids. They were a godsend- they just did whatever I needed them to do... until midnight. So, come morning we were ready to go. Makenna and Hadley were amazed when they saw all of the decorations that morning. I think it was the first party that I didn't feel frazzled at all. 

There were 9 kids and the party went so smooth. And Hadley LOVED being the center of attention. She was so proud of her rainbow party.

We had three games. The first was the Color Walk which was like a cake walk and when the music stopped if they were on a cloud, then they got Skittles or Starbursts. The second game was Pin the Tail on the Rainbow Zebra, which was a huge hit with both kids and adults.  Then after presents and cake, they all had fun playing Freeze Dance.  

Everyone had a colorful time at the rainbow party. And Hadley loved every bit of it. Happy Birthday sweet girl! It is hard to believe that it has been 5 years since we first saw her beautiful face. We love her to pieces!

Hadley's 5th Birthday

Hadley turned five. Yep, 5!  Five is one of those milestone ages because that means she will be starting school this year. :( She was beyond excited for her birthday. She started out the day by going to preschool and brought cupcakes. This was her first time bringing birthday treats and she was loving it. Then, we headed to town. We went to Outer Limits Fun Zone where the kids had a blast in the play center and playing arcade games. We were there for a few hours and the girls didn't want to leave. Then, we went out to Chinese food, Hadley's choice. Mmm. And we ended the day opening presents and eating cake and ice cream at Grandma's and Grandpa's house with a lot of the Pincock clan.  She had a great birthday, though this girl is easy to please. But she still had her long-awaited rainbow party coming up in two days. (Stay tuned)

I love the story that this picture tells. Hadley is checking out her new Lalaloopsy doll with Grandma,  the boys are fighting over Hadley's new toy while Makenna tries to protect it, Travis is listening to funny Aizy's saga, and everyone else is laughing at the boys fighting it out. Ha ha. These are the things memories are made of. 

Conference

We love General Conference. In the LDS church, church is broadcasted twice a year. We get to hear from the prophet and apostles. We enjoy making a big breakfast and eating it in our pajamas while we watch it. There is also a lot of cuddle time and wrestling Camden. It is a relaxing and uplifting day. And we may or may not have stayed in our pajamas all day.

When I look at these picture of all three of our sweet kids, I can't help but feel so incredibly blessed.

Easter 2013

We spent Easter in Boise with my family. It has been a tradition since I was little. It is always so fun for us all to get together. We had a pre-Easter egg hunt and dinner on Saturday. Then we started Easter off with a big egg hunt and breakfast (after waking up to Easter baskets, of course). Then, we headed to church for a little while to catch the Easter spirit. And last, we had a big dinner and get together. Our kids are always ridiculously spoiled. They love it all.
