Jayda's 2nd Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year and enjoyed getting to see all of our family and friends. We were gone for 10 days and had a great time. Momma took a ton of pictures, so I'll let them speak for themselves. Thank you everyone who gave us presents, we really appreciate everything and can't wait to see you all soon!

These pictures were taken the night before we left to go out of town. We turned on Christmas music and she danced around the Christmas tree in her pretty dress.

She wanted to open her present so bad!

On Saturday we had a Christmas party at my Aunt Cheryl's house with all of my aunts/uncles/cousins. Jayda had a blast playing with her cousins Molly and Cecilia. They all loved playing with the mini water bottles, so cute!

Trying to get a cute picture in the sleigh, but Jayda didn't want to cooperate.

On Sunday we had a Christmas party at Jacob's parents house with his brothers and their wives/girlfriends and their families. Again Jayda had a great time playing with her cousins Cole and Caitlyn.

Jayda was excited about playing with the big girls!

She loved her pink outfit too!

She was getting tired after such a big day, pants off and paci in.

On Christmas day Jayda woke up and opened all of her presents from Santa. She was soooo excited about everything she got. We ate a wonderful lunch with my parents, then headed off to Oklahoma that afternoon with Jacob's parents.

We arrived in Oklahoma around 8:00 p.m. and then had another Christmas with Jacob's grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins. We had a great Christmas dinner then opened more presents. Jayda couldn't get enough of her cousins. She called them : "B" - Brady, "Mo"-Morgan and "Wy"-Wyatt.

Some Christmas Pics!

Well I just wanted to put up some cute Christmas pictures of miss Jayda recently. The other day she sat down in front of the Christmas tree and just started cheesing really big. It was so cute! I think she's trying to show me what a good girl she is so that Santa will bring her a lot of presents! Last night we made our first gingerbread house together. Of course she kept trying to eat all of the candy and even took a bite out of the side of the house! Thank goodness daddy was there to help control the little monkey while mommy put the icing on the house. I think we're going to go on a hayride tonight to look at Christmas lights!

Cheesing for the camera, silly girl!

It's beginning to look a lot like ChRiStmAs!

Well, I am definitely feeling like it is officially Christmas time. This weekend Jacob put the Christmas lights on the house (big thanks to our neighbor Scott for all the help!) and Jayda and I decorated the Christmas tree and put up all the Christmas decorations in the house. We had so much fun putting everything up and listening to Christmas music. Jayda loved putting the decorations on the tree, especially the gold beads. Every time she sees the Christmas tree all lit up she says, "ohhhhhh". She loves Christmas lights too. Our neighborhood decorates really well so she gets to see lots of lights at night. It's so fun to be in a neighborhood that has so much Christmas spirit! After decorating all day saturday we made a trip to the galleria with our neighbors and their little girl and my mom. We had thought we may try ice skating, but there were so many people that had the same idea, so we decided just to get some dinner and watch the skaters. Jayda and her buddy Riley loved watching the skaters, I think it was mesmerising or something. On sunday we got dressed up and took some family pictures for our Christmas cards, but you'll have to wait to see the pics until you get your Christmas card! Hope everyone is having fun getting ready for Christmas!

A Thanksgiving to Remember!

This year was the first year that we had Thanksgiving at our house. Now that we actually have room for everyone to come over, we decided we would go ahead and do it. It was a ton of work getting all the groceries/food/house/china etc. ready, but it was very well worth it! My parents, Jacob's parents, and Justin and Lourdes came over to enjoy the feast. We had a ton of food and everything turned out to be delicious! It went just the way I hoped the first Thanksgiving at our house would go! That evening we all went to the tennis courts and played tennis for a while. Even the grandparents joined in! They were all actually still pretty good! It was so nice spending quality time with our families, and it was so nice for it to all be at our house! The next morning all of us ladies headed out for the annual black friday crazy shopping. We left around 7:30 a.m. and returned at 5:00 p.m., so it wasn't as long as we sometimes go for, but it was still a blast! We all found some great deals and it really put me into the Christmas spirit.

I also put up some pictures below of Jayda at Riley's 1st birthday party the weekend before Thaksgiving and a picture of auntie Jo-jo's visit to see our casa a few days before Thanksgiving!

Our pretty Thanksgiving table setting. It was actually our first time to use our fine china, even though we've had it since we got married 4 years ago!!

Jayda @ 16 months!

Just a few things I wanted to remember about my sweet baby girl at 16 months:

-She can name most of the animals in her books and tell you the sound they make (like for duck she says "wak-wak", for cow she says "mooooo", for snake she says "ahhhhhhh" - she's trying to copy my "ssssss" sound, for kangaroo she moves her arms up and down and says "ha-ha-ha" (for hop, hop, hop), for lions and tigers she says "raaaar", for turkey she makes a hilarious gobbling noise and my favorite is when she sees the mouse she shakes her finger and says "no-no!".

-Her hair is getting longer and longer, especially in the back.

-She saw a train the other day when we were out driving around and said "cho-chooo", since she'd seen a train in her books and knows that it makes the cho-cho sound. I was SO proud!

-She loves turtles and everytime we see water now she asks for the "tur-toos".

-She has such a sweet and loving personality. She loves to give hugs, pat her mommy and daddy, and give us kisses.

-She is very strong willed and wants what she wants when she wants it. She is very persistant. She can be very defiant when she wants to be.

-She has a mind of her very OWN.

-She is a co-py-cat...Gotta watch what you say around her!

-She is fascinated with shoes, of any sort, that belong to anyone, small, medium, large, and extra large! Wherever we are she finds people's shoes and either puts them on her feet and starts walking around in them, or takes them to the person that they belong to and stands there adamantly waiting for that person to put their shoes on.

-She loves playing with junk mail. She shreds it all to pieces and throws it all over the playroom.

-She never sits still unless she is asleep.

-Spankings do not phase her one bit, she actually laughs if you try to spank her.

-She always says "uh-oh" when she drops something, and even when she purposely throws something down (like her sippy cup).

-She tries to put everything into the garbage can (shoes, remotes, pacis, toys etc.)

-She loves playing at the parks and pushing her stroller around the neighborhood.

-She likes to put her food in her hair (bananas and grapes), on her belly, in her ears (pretzal sticks), and down her shirt when she's eating.

-She enjoys banging her sippy cup on the table to make as much noise as possible.

-She has moved to a booster sit and sits at the big people table instead of in a high chair.

-She gets crazy happy when her daddy gets home from work. She often looks through the window in the evening and says "Da-da, Da-daaa??!!" She loves and adores her daddy.

-She will not leave a bib on when eating, so now eats with no shirt on.

-She has moved onto size 4 diapers (she was in 3's since we moved here in May!) and she also now wears size 24 months clothes.

-She loves her grandparents so much: Paw-paw, Nanna, Ma (which she shortened from Oma), Pa (shortened from Oupa), Mema (mammaw), and Papa (Papaw).

-She absolutely loves taking baths. She enjoys playing with the shampoo, conditioner and soap instead of her toys. No matter how long she stays in the tub, she cries every single time I take her out.

-She still loves her paci, which she calls "ba".

-She is such a smart and beautiful little girl that amazes me everyday!

-She loves, loves, LOVES books. She likes to look at them all by herself either in her tent, on her mini rocking chair, or lay on the pillows in the play room. She loves for me or Jacob to read them with her and gets so excited when we do. I think she's following after daddy's footsteps with this!

-Her newest favorite foods are maccaroni and cheese and black beans.

-She loves to dance! Anytime she hears music she just busts out dancing. She either sways back and forth from one foot to another or bounces up and down and shakes her head all over the place.

-She loves for me to sing songs to her like, the itsy bitsy spider, twinkle twinkle little star and old mcdonald. Her favorite right now is 5 little monkeys and if I start singing anything else she does some sort of high pitched yell until I start singin the "right" song.

-She loves electronic things like phones, calculators, cameras, ipods, remotes and anything else like that. She thinks she has really gotten a prize if someone lets her play with one of those.

-She climbs onto anyting that she can. i.e - her activity table in the play room, the entertainment center, up her pack-n-play, onto chairs, on top of her play kitchen etc. She is a monkey!

-She enjoys throwing temper tantrums when she doesn't want to do something.

-She thinks she is such a big girl if she gets to sit in the rocking chair (that I used to rock her in as a baby) and "ra-ra" (rock).

-She is the best running partner ever!

-She loves nurturing her baby dolls. She gives them their bottle and paci, pats them, and rocks them. She is going to be such a great big sister one day!

-She doesn't like when I'm on the phone because I'm not giving her my full attention so she starts yelling and crying. Then as soon as I'm off she's a little angel.

-Big trucks scare her. She always runs to me and wants me to pick her up when the garbage truck comes by or when we're out and the UPS truck drives by.

-Her bed is still the pack-n-play. Not sure when she'll ever be able to sleep anywhere else!

-Everytime she wakes up she hollers very loudly "MA-MAAAA, MA-MAAA!!!!" until I come in and get her.

-She likes to go splish-splash in the dog's water bowl!

-She loves chasing Harley and Nina around the house. She always starts laughing like crazy when she chases them because she thinks it is so funny.

-She likes to try and carry things around that are WAY to big for her, and she actually does!

It's Official!!

Well Jacob got sworn in yesterday by the chief supreme court justice of texas, so he is now a "real" attorney! I'm so proud of him and all of his accomplishments! It was so nice to be at the ceremony yesterday, and also for Jayda to be there with us too. Not that she will ever remember it, but one day we can tell her that she was there, how cool! After the ceremony we went to lunch with some of our law school buddies, Jude and Lindsay and their parents at the County Line. We had some delicous bbq and Jayda had fun playing with her favorite little buddy Jude! She even got some ice cream from her favorite friend! After lunch we decided to make the rounds around Austin and went to visit Jacob's old co-workers from Allstate's legal dept., then went to see my cousin's little baby boy. I loved getting to meet little baby Andrew! He was just so precious and I didn't want to leave him!

In other good news, Jacob's softball team won the championship tonight! So, Jacob's busted up chin a few weeks ago wasn't for nothing! Wish I had some pictures, but Jayda and I didn't get to stay for the final game since it only started at 10:00 p.m.

Busy Little Birthday Bees!

We have been busy little birthday bees lately! No, it's nobody's birthday in our household, but we have had a lot of family members with birthdays in the past 2 weeks. To start we had Jacob's dad's birthday 2 weekends ago and celebrated with the family in Huntsville and had a great time seeing everyone. Then, the following tuesday night we threw a surprise birthday party for Jacob's brother at Saltgass Steakhouse here in Sugar Land. Klint thought that he and his girlfriend Brandy were just meeting his Dad and Suzie for dinner at Saltgrass on his birthday, but when he walked in he saw that it was much more than that! Most of his brothers and thier wives/girlfriends had come, along with our neighbors (Scott and Michelle, Scott plays softball with Klint), and Klint's best friend from high school Kevin had also come. I'm so glad that everyone was able to come and I think Klint had a great time!

Then, last weekend two of my best friends came to visit me and see our house for the first time. Kristi came down early on saturday morning and we went down to the town center, ate at La Madeline (my fav!) and did some shopping. Later that afternoon Andrea and Gonzalo stopped by to see us because they had come into Texas for a wedding in Sugar Land, how convenient! They actually got to stop by 2 times since there was a long break between the wedding and the reception. It was so nice to hang out with my ol' buddies and catch up. Hopefully we get to do lots more of it over the holidays! In preparation for them coming for the first time, I had been trying to order pictures and put them up in frames and such. So, I just had to take a few pictures of all my hard work (took many hours to do all of it)! My next project is to get the rest of the 600 pictures into photo albums, whew!

Anyways, on saturday evening my mom arrived and was nice enough to take our little family out to eat at the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Jacob passing the bar exam! That was such a nice treat and we enjoyed some delicious food, and cheesecake of course. Thanks mom!! On sunday my mom babysat Jayda while we went to the Texans game with Klint and Brandy and Justin and Lourdes. We had a lot of fun at the game, despite the Texans losing by over 20 points! After the fun filled weekend it took me a few days to get Jayda back on schedule and into a routine.

Just as she settled back in, I decided to go on to Huntsville on Thursday to enjoy some time with my dad, whose birthday was the day before on Wednesday. We were planning to celebrate it on saturday, but I figured I might as well go on up. I'm so glad that we went and we did lots of fun things on our trip to huntsville! On Thursday night we went over to Nanna and Pawpaws house and ate dinner with them. Jayda had fun playing with them and enjoyed going up and down, up and down, up and down...on Pawpaw's chair. I think it was quite the workout for both Jayda and Pawpaw! On friday Jayda had fun spending time with her Oupa and on saturday I ran in the Kats for the Cause breast cancer run at the Sam Houston campus. Saturday morning was when the cold front blew threw here and it was freeeeezing out there at the run. Not only was it freezing cold, the wind was crazy! I ended up finishing in about the same time as I finished the Houston Race for the Cure and I do not know how seeing that there were a ton of hills on this course and a ton of wind! And, for those of you who know Huntsville, the final leg of the race was up the Bowers Blvd. HUGE hill! Is that not the craziest thing you've ever heard of? Well it may not be to you, but to me it seemed crazy! Why would you have people finishing a race going up a humongous hill??!! Anywho, it was fun getting back out there and running and I'm hoping I can start doing some more races. On saturday afternoon me, jacob, jayda and oma and oupa headed up to the duck pond so that Jayda could see the ducks. She is so used to seeing turtles (and feeding them) at the ponds we go to around here, so she kept saying "tur-too, tur-too??" the whole time we were at the duck pond. I think we ended up seeing 1 turtle, but we did find 3 little baby ducks. They were the cutest little black and yellow things ever! It was freezing outside on saturday, but they just kept jumping in and out of the water, so cute! On saturday night we celebrated my dad's birthday by making him his favorite shepards pie for dinner. It turned out really well and him seemed to thoroughly enjoy his birthday weekend! On sunday we all took Jayda to the 7th street park in huntsville. We had never been there, so we decided to go and check it out. She had fun pulling daddy and Oupa all through the playground and swinging with Oma.

We had a really fun weekend, plus we still have 2 more birthdays coming up! Jacob's brother Justin's birthday is this Thursday, then Jayda's little buddy Riley's 1st birthday party is this saturday! Oh, and tomorrow we are going to Austin for Jacob to get sworn in! Yay to seeing our law school friends, plus Jacob will finally be official!
