Here we go again!

In case anyone cares what we are up to... well, for the last few weeks and I am sure for the next month at least, we will be working on our yard.  

Holy Cow, what have we gotten ourselves into?  Our neighbors all think we are crazy, I can't say I disagree!  We have taken it back to the bare bones.  Only this time we will do it right and this will be the LAST time we EVER reconstruct and totally re landscape our yard.  I just want to be a normal person who sits on the deck in the morning with my coffee and watches the kids play in the grass while I go and pull a few weeds from my flower beds.  But today I am getting my coffee down so I can go out and move rocks to make borders and dig trenches for sprinklers.  Hopefully, I will get around to replanting some of my flowers that I had to dig up and are now in buckets all over my front porch.  I'm sure in the mean time my kids will be making mud rivers and tracking it all through my house! 

 Don't get me wrong, I love the good hard work and the reward that will someday come from it.  But for now, I sort of wish I was Hermione and I could just wave my wand and be done!

Joe's Valley

We went on a quick little camping trip over the weekend with a few good friends.  We were trying to decide on a place where the climbers in the group could do their thing and us water lovers could get our thing in too.  One of the guys suggested Joe's Valley.  I had never heard of it.  It's a world renowned climbing and bouldering hot spot with free camping and lakes and rivers... perfect!   It's just a 3 hour drive from SLC as long as you don't follow the directions that google maps suggests.  We did, and just when we thought we were getting "close" we ended up having to take a 2 1/2 hour detour on top of the 3 hour drive.... that's a whole other story for a whole other day...  but a lesson learned: never follow google maps into mountainous terrain!!!

Time to get to the good stuff!  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves... all I can really say is This Place is Beautiful!!!  We spent hours fishing the river, kayaking the lake, and enjoying good company.  The kids we have between us are best little buddies and us Mom's and Dad's in the group have become great friends! I feel fortunate that our lives have intertwined with theirs. We balance each other out just right and always have a great time when we get together! I am sure we will be friends for life!
