We have 5 Yr. olds...Who went to DisneyWorld for their birthday!

We surprised the girls at the end of February with a vacation to Disneyworld for their 5th birthday. They were super excited about the plane ride, going to "Disney Jr." (which is what they call Disney World), and finding Mary Poppins! I know, that's who they talked about seeing once we told them who all would be there.

Here they are on their 1st visit to Magic Kingdom!
And we did find Mary Poppins at Epcot!

I think our best character meal was Chef Mickey. It was fun and not too rushed like some of the other ones were.
Here was the view from our room. The girls played on the balcony for hours. They even made friends with the neighbor kids by talking to them under the partitions. We stayed at Animal Kingdom...Jambo House.
We rode these spaceships at Magic Kingdom. They spun around really fast and lucky for Mommy, it was a short ride!
The carousel was a hit and we rode it every day that we visited Magic Kingdom. Yes, my girls are not too adventureous.
This was an awesome 3D movie called Mickey's PhilharMagic. It only lasted about 10 minutes, but really cool! Avery kept trying to reach out and grab things!
This was our birthday picture in front of Cinderella's Castle.

The girls visited the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and got to choose their outfit and then had their hair and makeup done by a Fairy Godmother in Training. This was their 2nd favorite thing they did on their trip. Their most favorite was swimming at the hotel pool!!! I mean, we could have paid to heat the neighbor's pool and stayed home! However, we made some great memories at Disney World.

Yes, it's our birthday and we are super cute!
After the boutique, we had lunch at Cinderella's Royal table. Here are the girls with Aurora, A.K.A. Sleeping Beauty.
Epcot had some amazing floral sculptures.
We had lunch at Epcot at the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, which was another Princess Character meal. The girls and Mommy ventured to Epcot on our own this day. Daddy came down with fever and chills. Boo!

It was a wonderful vacation. The girls are asking to go back this summer. I told them I spent 5 years planning this vacation and we'll need a little time to plan another one.

It was perfect for 5yr olds. Not many little girls get to say they spent their birthday at Disney World!

What's with the Weather?

Last year at this time, we were cooped up in the house for about a week. And it had snowed a bunch! This year, we've been bike riding all the time. The girls and I have been riding around the block to the huge church parking lot (no traffic, Momma's calm) and burning off some energy. It's been really fun and the girls are now starting to talk about taking off their training wheels. I told them in a few months, I'll think about it. Can you just see me running behind their bike? OMG...that will be a sight!
Here we are before one of our outings.
Grace decided that bike riding was a black tie event. Fur jacket and all!

My 2012 Photo Project

So last year, (Mommy 2011) I tried to do a picture a day. Well, that lasted till about June. Needless to say, I failed miserably. So this year I decided to do it on about January 10th and decided I could use my Iphone. It's going pretty well. These are some of the shots I've gotten of the last few weeks. Here is Grace on a day when it was about 25 degrees.
And then the next day it was probably about 65 and here the girls are hanging out the window.
It's always a challenge to get a pic of Mommy and Daddy together. But here is the best shot attempt on about January 10th.
We happened upon a whole slew of cattle that wanted to talk to the girls the other day.
And here is a photo of my child who doesn't want to sleep at night. Instead, she naps during the day and is awake for hours at night!
Then here we have the oldest child in the house! Brownie girl, who doesn't like anyone but Daddy! She has shunned Mommy ever since Grace and Avery came along.
The friendship bracelet...Who knows where Avery got this. The story changes daily, but the child has worn it since about Thanksgiving.
And what a fun pic. The Macha girls on our way home from school. Yes, I stopped the car to take the picture! But look at everyone's expressions...PRICELESS!

Trick-O-Treat 2011

Well, we got a late start with the trick-o-treating this year. We had dancing and we wanted to go because Mrs. Cindy said we could wear our costumes. By the time we got back to the neighborhood, our friends had already been to all of the houses. We immediately got to work catching up.
We started at our next door neighbor's house, Ginger. She had some awesome treats! Thank you Ginger.
This is a picture with all of our friends. They were done and we were just getting started.
Here we are with our candy begging friend, Sawyer. We think he was a little scared of Grace's painted cat face. He wouldn't even look at her.

Here we are going to the house in the neighborhood that didn't have any lights on. But we were determined and lo and behold, Mr. Joe answered the door. We are very persistent little girls.
Well, Gretchie and Joe found some candy somewhere and gave it to us!
And we are on our way back to the house with all of our loot!

Fun at the Celina Pumpkin Patch

On Wednesday the girl's school took a field trip to the Celina Pumpkin Patch. I (Mommy) didn't go, still a bit too sore from surgery to go and pick pumpkins. Lucky for us though, we convinced Nee to stay a few extra days and she went with the girls. They had a really good time and the highlight was riding in the church's 15 passenger van in big girl booster seats! Ha, to be 4 yrs. old.
Here is Grace with her friend Savannah. Or as Avery calls her...Vazannah!
Feeding the goats. Before leaving for the pumpkin patch, Avery told me that she had to wear tennis shoes...NOT flip flops. Their teacher told them it was probably best, just in case the goat pooped on their foot! Avery was very clear with these instructions and made sure the tennis shoes were ready to go the night before.
Surprisingly, Grace fed the goats. I mean, after the whole horse biting incident a few years ago. She's a little leery.
We have Delaney, Avery, Savannah, and Grace on the hayride.
Grace chose the perfect pumpkin!
And Avery must have picked the smallest pumpkin at the patch. It was little.
The girls again!

And here is one with Nee. Not sure what happened to Grace. We thank Nee so much for staying with us for so long. She was so helpful and the girls loved having her for such a long time. I'm sure Nee is glad to be back sleeping in her own bed and not having 2 4yr. olds waking her up around 6 each morning! When do these kiddos start sleeping later?
