Eggstra Special Easter Weekend

We kicked off our Easter festivities with the girls party at school and my birthday. Their party was held at one of their classmates homes and was a great place to hunt eggs.

The playground got dominated...

Clare was a little shy at first...as usual...but then dove right in.

The girls love to swing. I guess it just might be time to bite the bullet and get them a swing set. I am not a good 'pusher' so we have been putting it off if you know what I mean.

Going through their baskets after the big hunt.

Thursday evening we had a short and sweet dinner for my birthday.

Look who showed up Friday afternoon!

Mr. Smiles and now he is getting another tooth up on top. He will soon have his two top and two bottom and ready for steak!

Gams, Pops, Kak & Josh came in for the weekend and it was Eggstra special because we were able to see the Baby Grisham Egg pooching out. Yes, Adde & Clare are getting a LITTLE cousin. They have big cousins but now they will be getting one smaller than them and Bennet is getting a playmate to play in the mud with. It's a boy and we couldn't be more excited.

See it?

Saturday morning we had the annual Adult Egg Hunt and in case you are wondering, I held my title as Champion. I had a close competitor this year, but it wasn't the number of eggs that counted. It was the moolah! Ok, so I'll come clean. William thought it was brainy to use a grocery sac instead of a basket so he could carry easier and his eggs wouldn't fall out. Well, unbeknown to him, he had a hole in his bag like a doofus and I was right behind him picking up every egg that he had just deposited in his 'brilliant bag'! I love you hubby and just want to say thanks again! Ya I don't play nice, but I do play fair.  Oh and Gams, you may want to hire new helpers next year when you're hiding eggs. They have a great memory and are pretty honest to Mommy and Aunt Kak. Just sayin!

Here we are counting our eggs.

and we were short so off again we go...

 no luck!

Pops and Lil Man were making sure no one cheated!

William going through the eggs in MY basket making sure I didn't leave any $$ in the eggs. Ya right, doesn't he know me better than that?

Adde & Clare were not fans of the Adult hunt. They got stampeded in the beginning and actually thought they were going to get to play and get some of our eggs. They were running as fast as they could but we were pretty serious and beat them to every egg. As soon as I realized they were getting their feelings hurt, I would take the money out of the egg and throw back down the egg for them to find. They were NOT fans of EMPTY eggs.

After the hunt was over and Gams counted our eggs and said we got them all, Clare walked over to the bird house and said "oops y'all forgot one"...and pulled out an egg with $10. Little stinker!

Having some Peeps!

A little backyard sports with A & C's new set! I think it's too little for you Pops and Daddy and I don't think you are supposed to be hitting a volleyball with a badminton racket. Tearing up their toys already.

Practice makes perfect!

Gams and her Clare.

Bennet was not thrilled at Josh's Tech hat. He wanted to eat it..

and so he did!

A little crawfish boil we had.

Someone told the girls they had to have on their helmets to touch the crawfish. Who was pulling their leg?

This is a new one. Crawfish, Corn and Pudding. Yum Clare. Swish it all around.

And as usual Adde has the pudding all over her shirt verses in her mouth.

Clare helping Gams peel em.

Adde having a talk with Poppa and which I think she told him "Poppa, I don't want you here." Oh 3 year olds, what will they say next?

Our Eggstra Special Weekend continues with more pictures to come!
