TRAVELING FOR HOLIDAYS

Do you travel for the holidays? I have always been one that like to stay home for Christmas. Oh, I can remember when first married and when the kids were very young we would travel to various relatives homes. They would open gifts from Santa and then shortly we would pack up and head out.  It was always good to be with family but it got really difficult for the kids wanted to stay home and play.  Finally one year I announced we were staying home for Christmas! I also said everyone was invited for dinner but we were done with traveling.   Wow did I learn very fast to prepare dinner for a couple of dozen relatives.  But, I was home!

Fast forward many, many and many years the kids now have children of their own and they want to stay home. I guess I provided many memories that they want to pass on to their children of staying home for Christmas.

So guess who is traveling again for Christmas.  Last weekend it was a Jungle Bell weekend. Dashing through the snow in a one studded tire Tahoe. O'er the mountains we go. Laughing all the way or white knuckle all the way!

My daughter, son in law and two granddaughters loaded up my Tahoe and off we went to Bend, which is central Oregon.  We had snow here in the valley and then freezing rain so our roads were not in the greatest shape either.  I'm happy to report we made it, had a fabulous time with family and now my kids can stay home on Christmas day with their children and make wonderful memories.

6 days till Christmas!

MEET DUNCAN

He is my  new buddy! Last July I lost my old guy Jackson. I told myself I wasn't going to get another dog.  There was never in that statement but I knew I was taking a break since I had some travels in my future. My grand kids kept asking " when are you going to get another dog"? My answer was always "I'm not looking for another dog"!

Two weeks ago my daughter in law sent me a text about a lab a doodle at one of our rescue sites.  So I picked up a couple of granddaughter and we went to look at this dog for her.  Well what to my wondering eyes a posters of all the dogs available. There he was!  A poodle terrier mix, 5 years old and oh what an adorable face.  So we checked out the lad a doodle and Duncan.  Well he came home with me that day!  And Chance the lad a doodle was adopted buy my son and family. Yep, two dogs adopted in one day!

He has been a jewel.  Who ever lost this adorable boy, I am sure they are missing him and couldn't find the right location to find him.  He is out of CA and was rescued from being put down by a non profit out of Oregon, I'm so glad they brought him to Oregon and my home!

Just in case you want to see pure love, my granddaughter and her dog Chance, the 10 month old lab a doodle.

That is her in his bed and snuggled in. Both dogs with have a Merry Christmas with us!

Enjoy,

New Header Picture!

I'm so in love with this picture, I want to move right in!  I can close my eyes and dream that I live there. The house might be a little large but since it is my dream I can make it any size I want.  I know it will have a fireplace and possible a wood burning stove in the kitchen! Do any of you day dream about living in you dream home.

My red barn will have animals besides the horses and cows in the picture I will have a pair of donkeys, maybe a sheep or two and of course goats. Maybe even a few more chickens then I have now.  Since I am dreaming I will of course have help with all the chores, ha-ha!

Yes, driving that red truck another dream!! I so want an old red Chevy pickup! I have a few in my decor currently but not the real things.  Have you noticed all the red truck Christmas decorations this year?  I even acquired a couple pillow with red trucks on them.

Speaking of Christmas, I am working so hard to get all my shopping done by this weekend so I can sit back and enjoy! One of my problems is all the Christmas movies on Hallmark.  It is really hard to get things done when I am watching movies, gees!

Best get moving so I can stay on task!!

Enjoy,
