Welcome

I hope to share my little ups and downs though life in a small town with hopes and dreams of the country life. With that I have learned to bloom where you are planted.

SISTER LOVE

What do you say about a sister who takes time out of her life to come over and help me out?  Words can not describe how I so appreciate her and my  brother in law's help.

They sent a few days with me last weekend and did some of those honey does since I don't have a honey!! On Thursday the weather wasn't the greatest, thunder storms, hail and rain.  But guess who was out in it trimming my arborvitae's hedge?

Doesn't it look nice.  You can't believe how much more light is on the yard. We did discuss that it could even be cut shorter.  But that will require a larger chainsaw since the stocks have gotten rather large.  Oh, I so appreciate their help.  We also cut down a tree, pulled out a large arborvitae that was not in a good location.  Oh the trailer is full and now just make it to the dump.

I worked on some deadheading of Rhodie's and roses.  I picked a small bouquet for the dining table before the rain and hail beat them to death.

With the weather they are starting to bloom.  It will take a little sunshine to have roses in June and celebrate Rose Festival in Portland.

My peonies are really spectacular right now.  Oh, if I only had a good camera, but are just going to have to bear with not good quality pics.

I just love this red peony!!!!

On Saturday we went to Adelman's Peony Garden in Brook, for those of you that live in Oregon.  Of course I couldn't resist purchasing a couple more.

This is the first one I purchase.  I can't wait till next year to see if mine compares.

This is Coral Charm, isn't it lovely.  They sent me how with a bloom.  Oh I can't wait until next year for this one.

The weekend ended and my sister and brother in law went home.  I already miss them for I didn't make them slave all weekend.  We had wonderful BBQ's, visiting friends, a little garage selling.  Yes, a fun weekend was had!

Now it is on getting my travel trailer ready for my big Farm Chick and Sister's on the Fly weekend!

Wagon Ho!

Weekend

What a fun and tiring weekend!  Grand kids birthday are so different now then when my kids or for that matter why I was a kids.  The dinosaur age! Now it seem it is parties at some entertainment place, jump house, arcades, bowling or at a sport center like Kaleb's was.  I must admit with 24, 2nd graders it is nice to have an employee giving directions as to the activities.  Then it was ice cream and cake.  I was going to take a picture of his cute cupcake cake but I turned my back for a split second and cupcakes were missing.  Oh well, it was still cute.
I think it is a clever idea these cupcake cakes.  It does make serving to kids a whole lot easier!

The rest of the weekend was family time.  All my kids and grand kids were there plus a couple extra that call me Grammie June. We had a wonderful time Saturday evening with a BBQ for dinner and then a campfire with S'mores.   Here is the new picnic table the kids thought was great for eating on and of course jumping also.
Notice that dog?  Well that is Zoey and she is only 5 months old.  Yes, she is going to be one big lovable baby!  She is such a sweet dog but I know when she get's full grown she will look very intimidating.

The ride home was a very quiet one with everyone sleeping from the fun, fun family weekend!

ZZZZZZZZZ,  I'm awake, really!!!

PS - I tired to take another picture of my gorgeous poppies.  Yes, it is time for that new camera!

Now back to recuperating from the weekend!

Enjoy June

TIME FLYING BY

Where does the time go?  I've been so busy, but then I turn around and wonder what  have I done? Yes, the garden and yard have taken up a lot of my time and then I squeeze in a few birthday celebrations.  Of course we can't forget the grand kids and all the ball games I try to attend.  So this post is just to say Hi, that I am still around.  And to share a few pics of my flowers that are starting to bloom.  Again as looking at the quality you can tell I haven't purchased that new camera -YET!

As you can tell it is a little blurry, okay there was a breeze and I thought it would stop just for me, NOT!

I was trying not to be too wordy!  I can get carried away with chatty so I thought just pictures this time.

But I do have to share one more thing.  I went to my brother's 70th birthday party and his wife birthday was a few days earlier.  So a niece made them each a cake.

She is a Facebook Farm player.  And I think you can tell my brother relaxes in his recliner a lot!
I think she captured him pretty good.  There pug dog, Polly is sound asleep on his lap.  They were such cute cakes and they even tasted wonderful.

So back to my busy schedule of another birthday party over the mountains into Central Oregon.  Hey, you would think gas is a few pennies! HA!!

Enjoy this fantastic week!

LOOK, LOOK

I'm a winner!  This package arrived in the mail yesterday.  I was so excited for I know what was in it, but it was so cute packaged.

I opened it up and found this adorable stickers!

Yes, it is a barn load of love!  I was so excited to tear into it but with how neatly it was package I took my time.

It had all kinds of goodies.  There was cupcake liners, cake wedge scrubbers, gift bags, card holder, a duck whiteout tape dispenser, little gift bags and origami paper.  Now I have no talent in folding paper to make cute things.  But the mind went crazy with all kinds of things I can use that paper for.

But best of all, now drum roll please, BIG drum roll...........

Do you see them?  Yeah, Yippee, Excitement!!  It is two sets of tickets to the Farm Chicks Antiques Show  in Spokane, WA.the first weekend of June.  Can you believe that?  I was a winner on the Farm Chicks blog!  I had already plan on going and even more excitement.  I am camping with Sister's on the Fly for the weekend.

Then there was this sweet note for the Farm Chick herself, Serena.  I am so excited but also so very thankful.  It's not everyday you win a drawing and especially one I so wanted.

A very thankful,

COLOR

It's Spring time and time to work in the yard and garden.  If you've followed along you know I like a lot of color in my yard. As you can see with my patio chairs and a few cans of spray paint.
A friend shared a picture from Facebook and I was off and rolling on yet another project. Like I don't have my share of unfinished projects.

This is how the project started, finding old tires.  You would think they were a dime a dozen but now a days all tire shops recycle them.
First things first is I get out my handy dandy cans of spray paint.  It did take several coats but the weather was on my side this weekend.
One more to go and I can put this project together.. The paint is called watermelon and I was thinking it would be a coral pink like my one patio chair.  But the new one I found is not like my old color.  So I have a pink tire instead.

Now, drum roll and the finished project.  Well more like project still in fine turning.

Back behind the little lattice fence is my compote pile.  I wanted something that would help beautify that area.  So old tires and paint will have to do.  I still have a few more plants I want to plant and I'm still not happy with the orange tire since it was a little smaller.  But for now I have more color in my yard.

Enjoy June
