Yes, having a sister is wonderful.
My sister and her husband stayed with me Wednesday evening.
They had come out to watch their grandson play baseball for his High School team.
She lives about a 2 hour drive from me so I am always excited to get a chance to visit.
Well she decided to make this wonderful French toast bake for Thursday breakfast. Oh My Gosh was it yummy. She used this wonderful Italian bread which she spread cream cheese between two slices. This soaked overnight in an egg mixture. Instead of using cinnamon in this recipe she used cardamom. I am a huge cardamom fan.

I never got a picture of the pan after baking but took a quick shot before I dove in! Yes, fresh strawberries and whipped cream on top. Do you say died and gone to Heaven? I was one happy camper on my way to work. But that’s not all! About noon she delivers a Surprise Monkey Bread to my office for all to share. Needless to say we are little piggy’s at work so I almost didn’t get a picture of it. Another too died for!!! Cream cheese filling, yeah!
Now here is what is so special about my sister. Up until 10 years ago I didn’t know I had a sister. You heard me correct. I have wanted to write this little story for some time now. You see I was adopted at birth. I had the most wonderful parents. I was so love and yes, spoiled. I was also the true definition of a Daddy’s Girl. I never lack for anything and I never once in my life felt I missed out. I also had a brother who was two years older than me. Yes, the prankster one! But ten years ago when my first grandson was born a few family traits were so predominate. I got to wondering what my heritage truly was. Was I Dutch, Irish – what? I found with the State of Oregon you could get non- identify information. I thought great maybe even some medical so I sent off an application. To make a long story short, I was one of the lucky ones. Since then I have been fortunate to meet my birth Mom, and 2 half bothers and 1 sister. What a true gift I was given and a true blessing. My one brother has passed away from ALS for only knowing him a few years and my birth Mom passed away last year. But I am truly thankful for the gift of knowing and loving them. This brings me to my sister. What a joy to have her in my life. We are two peas in a pod. Are lives have been so similar for we think, talk and enjoy the same activities. I am a firm believer in you are born with personality traits. Not only have a gained a sister I have gained the best friend in the world. I so love her and cherish every moment I get to spend with her. Someday I will add to this story of how our lives have come together but for now with close.
Enjoy every second with family,
June
