Christmas 2013

I am so behind on my blog so I am going to try really hard to catch up. 2014 was a crazy busy year and it looks like 2015  is going to turn out to be the same.
I have to blog about our trip to see Santa in 2013. We found him at the Christmas tree place along with a few of his not so famous reindeer. After chatting with Santa a bit he brought one of the reindeer out for the kids to pet. My kids love animals so getting to pet one of Santa's reindeer was pretty awesome!

Halloween 2013

This year for Halloween I went pretty simple. Delilah wanted to be her favorite princess Snow White. Hazel had been Snow White when she was 2 so I already had the costume. The twins both picked out something from Walmarts selection of costumes. Evan was a zombie pirate complete with squid in his shirt with a glowing eye. Erick was a skeleton pumpkin. It had a heart he could squeeze and blood would drip down his chest. It was pretty cool. And Hazel was Draculaura from Monster High. The shirt was official Monster High but then we just added one of Hazel's own skirts and boots. Then a little make up and hair coloring she was done. We did our usual pumpkin shaped pizza for dinner and then trick or treated until we couldn't feel our toes anymore.

Eve

So as I said in my last post, me and Isaac stopped off at Best Friends Adoption Center just to LOOK at the dogs. For fun I went into the cat area and saw this black ball of fur asleep in the corner. I went and picked up this adorable black ball of fur and saw it also had beautiful green eyes. I carried her over to look at her bio that was taped to the wall and as I was reading it I noticed I was rocking her like a baby. That was it, I was in love with this kitty! I asked the lady there about her and found out her adoption fee was only $5. When I showed her to Isaac he told me "NO". My response was "I have birthday money in my pocket". She is the best birthday present I ever got myself.
Her name in the adoption center was Kathrine but because that is my sister's name I renamed her Eve because I adopted her a few days before Halloween AKA All Hallows Eve.
Isaac was pretty angry with me. I kept telling him she would catch the mice we had in our house. We have a field behind our house and the mice like to come live in our house when it gets too hot or cold and it has been driving us crazy! Isaac was convinced she wouldn't catch them and said if she caught a mouse Eve could sleep in his bed. Well a couple weeks after we got her there was a huge fight behind the microwave and Eve came out victorious. I sent Isaac these pictures at work telling him he had a new bed buddy.

And no more mice since then. And she does occasionally sleep on our bed, on Isaac's side :)
She also likes to sneak into the kids rooms and sleep with them.

We have learned why they say Curiosity Killed the Cat
Eve loves to help around the house. Like helping me with projects or helping Isaac take care of the fish  :)

We all love our sweet new kitty Eve...

10 Years!!!

It's crazy but me and Isaac have been married for 10 years! I am so lucky to be married to this guy. I am honestly married to my best friend.
For our anniversary we decided we needed a vacation. We have never gone on a vacation together without kids. We started by dropping the kids off at my parents house (thanks mom and dad!) then we went to a spa for a couples massage and pedicure.Yep I had to get a picture of Isaac getting his toe nails painted.

After that we headed to my family cabin. It was really nice up there in October with all the leaves changing. And it was heaven finally being able to sleep in without kids.
The next day we went shopping at the Park City outlet mall. And wandered around Midway. I love the antique store there. I could live in that store other than the fact it is probably haunted. As soon as you walk in the adorably fat pug Norman comes running to great you. They have some gorgeous antiques and this gem that I am saving up to buy someday, I just need a fireplace mantel to hang it above. Ha ha ha!

The day of our actual anniversary we went to dinner at the restaurant in the Zermatt hotel there in Midway. It was totally empty because it was a Thursday and the tourist off season. The steaks there were huge and yummy. We left totally full. The waitress was also nice enough to give us a free dessert because we told her it was our anniversary.

The next day we had to go back to reality and pick up our kids. On the way there we decided for fun to stop by the Best Friends animal shelter just to look at the dogs. Lady was getting older and we knew she wouldn't be around forever so we just wanted to look at what they had in the shelter. Just Look ... ha ha ha
if you know me you will understand telling me we are just looking at adorable homeless animals is a joke. I will get into that in my next post ...

Bradshaw Girls Getaway

My mom, sisters and I have talked about going to the cabin just us for a while and finally we did it.
I packed the essentials . . .
It was a little tough to leave my kids. I don't think I have ever left all 4 children with Isaac over night. Isaac dropped me off at Chris's apartment where I met Carlye and we drove to my mom's together. Chris wasn't home so we couldn't leave without leaving a couple notes saying we had been their. Although we didn't say who we were. Later Carlye got a confused text from Chris wondering if it had been her. She of course said "no". Ha ha ha.
On the way to my mom's we also had a car full of guys wave at us. Guess we are still pretty hot when we don't have a car full of kids.
We got to my mom's and finally left.
We first did some major shopping at the outlet stores in Park City. We grabbed some dinner and headed to the cabin. On the way we almost hit a deer which was pretty exciting. I mean seriously almost hit it, as in I am pretty sure we nudged it along.
As we were bringing stuff into the cabin I saw something that looked like dog poop. I had just warned Carlye not to step in it when the poop started to move! It was a HUGE slug! So I did what any big sister would do, I picked it up with a stick and chased Carlye through the woods with it.
It was freezing in the cabin so I am glad I brought my snuggie. Even though my sisters made fun of me endlessly about it. I think they were just jealous.
The next day we did more shopping around Midway. Carlye drove us all crazy trying to buy a big old door, the kind with glass panels. She wants to put pictures in it and hang it on her wall. It was big so there was issues with how she was going to get it home.
In Midway I saw a family of deer that had twins. There is a bond between all twin mom's even if they aren't human. It was kind of sweet to watch them. The dad was totally aware of us and watching us while his family ate.

We stopped back off at the outlet stores on our way home for a few more things we decided we had to have. Then we headed home. I got home really late but was happy to see Isaac and my children had survived without me.
It was a ton of fun and I can't wait to do it again.

First Day of Kindergarten and 3rd Grade

The kids were really excited to start school again. Hazel's 2nd grade teacher is teaching a split 2nd and 3rd grade class this year so Hazel got the same teacher which we were really happy about. The twins also got a really great teacher.

Summer 2013

So I thought I should do a quick blog post on our summer 2013, now that it is almost summer 2014. Summer 2013 was full of Slurpee runs...

And family BBQ's...
Swimming in the pool in the back yard...
We took a little vacation to the cabin...

And we got Lagoon season passes again...

My family came for a day and it rained. Most of us toughed it out.
Eventually it was down to just us. We stayed till it closed. Toughest of the tough.

We went to the county fair...

Did our usual 4th of July celebration...

We said goodbye to my brother Daniel who left on his mission to Roseville, California...
We took him to Lagoon with us so the kids could spend the whole day with him before he left.
We have a tradition of going to Ihop for breakfast the day a missionary leaves.
 The redheads

The last day before the kids started school I took them to the pond by our house to explore and feed the ducks.
