Tastemakers 2014

We had another fun time at Tastemakers.  It's a chance to try samples from downtown restaurants.  Every year we are too stuffed to try the amazing crab cakes at Market Street.  So, this year, Melinda was determined that it would be our first stop.  We were the first ones in to try the crab cake and it did not disappoint.  

Another thing we liked this year was the lanyards that we got to wear and then the restaurants would stamp or punch the card on the lanyard after we had visited them.  It was genius!  It's very important for us to have our hands free for eating.  

A friend, Anne Reese, and her sister joined us this year.

Memorial Day Pool Party

We headed up to Roy on Memorial Day for food and a swim party at Brian and Lisa's house.

The little girls had the best time discovering that if they flipped their hair over in the water and then back again that they looked like George Washington and other historical people.  It was so funny!

Hanging Out with Jena

While Brian and his family were at a play, we had the chance to hang out with Jena.  We went to Hires for dinner and played at a park.  Sometimes it's fun to have the kids one on one. 

Ogden Half Marathon with Kristen

Kristen had been training for the Ogden Half Marathon and we wanted to go and support her.  We got a room at our favorite Hilton Garden Inn, right in the heart of Ogden by the temple.  

Brian and his family came over to play games with us at Fat Cats, right across the street from our hotel.  So fun!  Look at this intense Skee Ball competition . . . 

And, of course, we have to take a picture with our fantastic loot!

Then, the next day, we were off to support Kristen at the race.  It was a gorgeous day and we could walk to the end of the race from the hotel.

Always interesting people in the crowd.  

She did it!  It was a big accomplishment since she was also running on an injured foot.  

It was also fun to see the progress on the Ogden Temple remodel.  We will be back soon to go through the temple.
