Fertilizer Friday 6.3.11

 

Happy Friday!  I’m joining Tootsie’s Party to Flaunt my Flowers.

We are still in a severe drought. No chance of rain in sight.  So, I’ve been doing a lot of watering and sweet-talking.  =)

For some reason the right 1/2 of my garden is always more full than the left side.

So, I normally share the right side =)

the left side takes awhile to fill in….as you can see in the next 2 photos.

Mister I enjoy sitting on our patio and watching the birds…..

~ Fertilizer Friday 5.20.11 ~

 

Hi friends~

It’s Friday….that means good things around here.  It’s time to party @ Tootsie’s and it also means 8 more hours and I’m off for the weekend~  WOOT! =)

We are in what the weather people are calling an “extreme drought”…..

Watering morning and night.

Last years verbena is going crazy…..I planted 2 on this pathway last year…this one survived.

I planted 3 more this year. I would love the entire pathway to look like this next year.

This is one of my favorite planters~

& a favorite hanging basket~

We have Angelonia planted in containers and throughout our garden~ 

I love it.

Our climbing roses are also thriving….. { for now }  =)

Despite the drought….the garden is continuing to thrive~

I love delphinium, too….

~ Things in the Garden & a Project ~

 

 

Howdy from your friend in very HOT Texas =)

Last week I planted delphiniums….I love them. 

We also have a few miniature butterfly bushes ( max height 3 ft. )  that are starting to fill in.

I love them, too.

The prettiest yellow rose made an appearance this past week~

Some of you may remember me telling y’all about a upcoming project.  Well, we are starting.

NOW!

We are the investors/contractors on this property.

Let the FUN begin! We have BIG plans.  The new fence is already being installed and ALL the fascia and soffit are being replaced, today.  Exterior paint begins Friday.  That means I have to pick exterior paint colors and roof shingle colors TODAY. Any ideas??? The shutters are also being replaced and 2 will be added on the window closest to the front door.  This property needs a lot of work to get ready to sell….I hope you will join me….as we will be very busy over the next 4-6 weeks getting it ready.  I will take you with me.  every. step. of. the. way.

Fertilizer Friday~ Flaunt your Flowers 4.22.11

Happy Good Friday~

I’m joining Tootsie’s party today. I can’t wait to share what’s going on in our garden~

I love to play in the garden and watch it grow

I call it Soil Soul therapy.

The roses have been making their appearance again this week so while they are shining,

here they are~

One of my climbers on the side garden~

The knock out roses are really blooming. See the rose along the back? That’s a carpet rose planted 2 years ago. It’s grown under the knockouts and started climbing the trellis~ much to my delight. =)

{ UGG…..every year I struggle with this arch, paint it? stain it? Leave it alone and let it look olden and mossy…haha } I think the olden-moss thing has won out since I haven’t touched it in 5 years…..besides, there are a pretty good amount of thorns around it, maybe that’s why?

Still when I see it in pictures I want to do something to it. What do you think?

Close up of the carpet rose. You can’t tell in this photo but they aren’t as pink as the knockouts….they have have a little more orange in them~ If I see any again this year I would like to plant some along the pathway.

One canna survived the winter and has grown very fast~

I’m waiting impatiently for the yellow bells and the sunflowers to bloom~

I love the variety blooming in this picture, plumbago, angelonia, salvia and pansies.

I added a chandelier above our outdoor sink area…..$20 @ Sears~ WOOT =)

Isn’t it cute?

Every morning I enjoy my favorite vanilla flavored coffee and watch the sunrise…..right here.

I kind of like the view. =)

Flaunt Your Flowers~

Hi everyone…happy Friday!

I’m participating in Tootsie’s Fertilizer Friday as I finally have a few things to share in our garden. =)

Our maple tree is just starting to fill in

The new honeysuckle is starting to bloom~

I’ve never had honeysuckle before and I think it is so pretty.

This is one of two bougainvillea’s that are on our patio~

Our passion vine survived the winter and is now starting to bloom.

Our roses were also survivors~
