Dirt, Rocks, and Sticks = 110% Little Boy

Every chance he gets, Sam is digging in the dirt and picking up rocks. We have started a little collection in the kitchen. The other day, he played with the same rock until he went to bed. He was unwilling to give it up to say the least so I let him go fall asleep with it. After he had been asleep for a while, Matt went to his room to get it from him (something about sleeping with a small rock when you are only 1 seems unsafe for some reason). When he came back down, he said, "you know you have a little boy when you are getting rocks out of his hand after he falls asleep."

Mama's Boy

In my parent's toyroom, Sam found a toy Barbie. He grabbed it and stared at it for a while then said, "Mama" and gave it a kiss. So sweet!

The Cayman Islands

It has been about a month since we went to the Caymans and it seems like 6 months. We had a fantastic time. It was the first time for us to be away from our Sammy. I actually surprised myself as well as Matt at how well I handled it. I knew he was in good hands. He spent the week being spoiled by Grandparents. It also helped that we traveled with some good friends of ours, the House's. They have a 5 year old and 1 year old (about a week apart from Sam). They helped me to keep my mind off of my little guy.
We spent most of the week lounging by the pool and beach. We were able to snorkel off the shore of our hotel which was really fun! Our hotel was nice and friendly. I quickly learned that I really enjoy being waited on hand and foot by the pool and/or beach. We didn't have to set up our chairs or umbrellas etc. Service was top notch!

When we weren't laying by the pool, we were jetting around town in a little car. Actually, the word little doesn't begin to describe her. We named her Sweetness. Her steering wheel was on the right side of the car since everyone drove on the right (wrong) side of the road. We went to Stingray City and swam with sting rays which was really cool. One day, we went shopping in Georgetown. I bought 4 baskets made by a local woman.
Overall, we had a very relaxing trip. On the last night, Matt found one of Sam's little Goldfish crackers in his pocket then as I was packing the next morning, Clifford came on TV. It was officially time to come home to our baby!

I'm officially a "Blogger"!

I figured it's time for me to jump on the blogging bandwagon. I have to admit that it's a great way to share the daily details with friends and family. I have been saying since Sam was born that I would like to journal our everyday lives but he is 18 months old today and I have yet to pick up a pen! Hopefully, this will inspire me to get busy!
