Everything looked great at our sonogram which is the biggest blessing of all!

Now all we need is a name :)

Happy Birthday Owen!

Today is Owen's birthday, he is now 8. For those of you that don't know him, he is the most lovable goof of a dog on the planet. He was our first child. We got him a few months before our first anniversary. There is not a mean bone is his body, only an unlimited amount of devotion and unconditional love. The way he is with Sam just makes me melt. As the years go by, all of these special characteristics seem to grow (along with his waistline). He will eat anything and everything (including cow manure) but oddly won't touch french fries or blueberries. Happy Birthday sweet Owen. We love you more than you will ever know.

Snow! Snow! Snow!

For those of you that don't know, we had a record breaking snowfall here. A whopping 12.6"! We have had a blast playing in it over the past 2 days. Here are some pics....

We started off playing in the backyard yesterday morning with what we thought to be a lot of snow. (about 4-5" at that point) Little did we know we were in for a full blown Texas blizzard :)

Then when Daddy got home from work, we loaded the fam into the truck and headed out to go sledding. On our way we saw this guy on the side of the road carrying his skis up a hill. Say what?! Does he realize we are in Texas and don't usually get anything more than ice pellets? Further down the road we saw someone with a snowboard and some serious sleds.

We went to a nearby golf course and were the only ones there. So fun! We let the dogs go wild, built a snowman, and did some mini slopes with our makeshift sled.

This morning we woke up to find that we had received a lot more snow.

So we built another snowman but this one had a handlebar mustache and some Texas flair.

Although I am beyond ready for spring & warm weather, the snow was a blast.

12 Week Appointment

After receiving a slap on the wrist from many of my dear blogger friends, I have decided to rededicate myself to the blogging world. This means that I will start current and then try and fill in all the posts that have fallen behind. Soooo, you can look forward to reading about the Clay Family Christmas 2009 sometime in May or June :).

Today I had a 12 week appointment. Dr R said that it was a "good, strong heartbeat". Those are beautiful words. We have our next appointment on March 1st and we will have a sonogram to determine what we are having. Can't wait! I am loving being in the 2nd trimester. My anxiety has been off the charts throughout the first trimester which I have read is normal due to the mother load of hormones that are surging in my body. Luckily, I am starting to feel some relief from this and the other typical pregnancy symptoms. Thank goodness! My only true pregnancy craving is fruit. Citrus fruit is my favorite but other fruit will due. This is a big improvement from my pregnancy with Sam. With him, I craved Lucky Charms and Taco Bueno bean burritos. nice. Maybe that's why I gained a first grader (and not the 8lb 2oz bundle of joy I delivered)? humm. Luckily I lost it all before pregnancy #2 and can start fresh :). Since we didn't do a sonogram today, the above pic is from our first appointment.

It's good to be back!
