Sunday Update

I didn't achieve my goal of 24 hours of stitching out of 48.  That's ok, I can try it another weekend.

I did make quite a bit of progress on Feathered Nest Pin Book by Stacy Nash Primitives.  When I started working on it last night this is how much I had done.  This was one of my starts from vacation.

I took a long nap this afternoon so that slowed my progress a bit.  This is where I ended up tonight.

And more technical difficulties.   I suspect that blogger may be changing the orientation of the photos during the upload.

I will stitch a bit more tonight while waiting for the dryer and then it's off to bed so I can get up for work tomorrow.

Saturday

I have been working on my stitching marathon weekend.

When I began this morning Theodore was in this state.

And here he is 6 hours and 10 minutes later.

All stitched and ready for finishing.  I haven't decided what to work on next.  I am due for another spin around the neighborhood - so something to think about while I'm doing that.  I think it's stopped raining.  We have had some thunderstorms today typical of June and hot, humid days.

I received some happy mail this week.

and the next installment in the Ladies Prim Society called Spring Fling Stitching Bag by The Scarlett House.

Perhaps I'll decide to start one of those after my walk.

Thursday

I got the groceries.  I'm sure I forgot some things but couldn't bring myself to take the time to make a list.  I did get the cat food and treats - so some little girls should be happy.

I finished stitching Theodore's legs.  I can begin to fill in the details at lunch and after work tonight.   I have been invited for dinner and stitching at a friend's house.  I am looking forward to that!

I'm happy with my progress so far this week.

I am looking forward to the weekend.    My plan is to attempt to stitch 24 hours out of 48 on Saturday and Sunday.  I will need to get up and walk and will do a lap around the neighborhood after I've been stitching for two hours.

Theodore Has Pants!

I had a good evening of stitching last night and managed to get Theodore's pants stitched.

I think I'm putting the picture in correctly this time!

Tonight I hope to get his legs stitched and maybe start of filling in some of his stripes and other details.

More Progress

I made a bit more progress on Theodore last night.  I'm not sure that you can see the picture from yesterday's post. (I've done a bit of fiddling so you should be able to see the picture from yesterday's post in that post now!)  Let's hope this one is better.  My photos go from my phone to Amazon Prime Photos and I'm not quite sure how to retrieve them to have them appear here.  

I have made progress on his pants but have a long way to go.  I hope to finish his pants (or maybe they're shorts?) tonight and move on to his legs.

I'm home this morning waiting for an inspector to come.  So, may get some time to stitch before the inspector arrives and I head off to work.

Hello!

It's been a while.

I have been toying the with idea of becoming a Flosstuber.  I have now decided against that.  As with so many things on the internet there are people out there that ruin the fun.  You know the stalkers, etc.
Reading posts from other Flosstubers about their experiences has helped me decide to stick to blogging.

I have been gone for a bit.  Let's just say that life has been a little busy and let it go at that.

I have been working on Theodore from the Animal Cracker Series by Stacy Nash. My progress so far.

I have welcomed these purrbabies into my home.  They were born on March 15.  They are growing like crazy and are a bit spoiled.

  Tilly is the calico and Tess is the black and white.  They gave gained a pound and a half in the month that they have been living with me.  Their story is that they were born in New York state.  My aunt posted a picture of a box of kittens on Facebook.  I asked here about the calico.  She thought she would been keeping that one.  A few weeks later she texted me to say that I could have her if I wanted.  We made arrangements for me to pick her up in mid-May.  In the meantime, she became attached to her sister, Tess and I was given the opportunity to bring both of them to live with me.  I didn't want Tilly to be lonely so Tess came along too.  I must say that I enjoy these purrbabies immensely and am constantly entertained by their antics.

That's about all for today.

Tuesday Ta-Da

So, a busy day today.  Work, then home and out for my manicure.  Then a quick trip into the grocery store - and my walk.  I try to walk 10,000 steps a day now.  I wear a Garmin Vivofit 3 which gives me this little reward when I hit my step goal

Sorry for the glare.  And then when I changed the screen so that I can see the clock again  this little beauty came up - a medal for hitting my step goal 5 days in a row.  How cool is that?

As you can probably tell, it doesn't take much to thrill me.

So, after my walk it was time to sit and stitch - a reward for having hit my step goal.  I put the last stitches in Coverlet Berry Scissor Tray by The Scarlett House.

I am pleased with the way this came out.  Tomorrow night I hope to do the finishing on this one.

I started this one - you know the one that I wrote about yesterday - Country Sampler Girl's Club, Summer House Pinkeep by Stacy Nash.  Just a little start, but a start.

Spring Gardner Sewing Roll

Last night I did the finishing on the Country Sampler Spring Gardner Sewing Roll by Stacy Nash Primitives.

Inside.  I added the two pieces of floss to be used a ties.

I'll admit it's not perfect.   But I do think it is definitely prim.  And I felt that the addition of the two floss ties made is a little more functional for me.  The finishing wasn't too difficult.  I did have a bit of trouble with curve, but got that resolved to my satisfaction.

A New Year

A new year and a fresh calendar, I like the promise of the  coming year.

You may have read my goals for the coming year in an earlier post.  I hope to share my journey toward accomplishing those goals with you this coming year.

Today I threw out my one thing, actually two things.  These full journals.  I don't go back and re-read what I've written so there's no need to save them.  I write three pages almost every day as a part of my weight loss journey.  This writing helps me to set my intentions for the day and work through any junk from the prior day. I found this technique in The Writing Diet by Julia Cameron.

 

After my treadmill time today I rewarded myself with some time spent on stitching on this piece.  I am close to finishing this pinkeep and have yet to start the ornament.

Later tonight I hope to make a start on A Fine and Fancy Tulip Tray by Patrick's Woods.  I will be taking this class in April.  Actually, if you count ironing the fabric and reading through the directions I have started.  I think a start is putting in those first few stitches.  This project starts with basting. 

I'd also like to get the Christmas things put away tonight.  Baby Girl said she would help with that.  Once we get started it should only take about half an hour.   We'll see.
