Our new favorite place

We love the water park! It is only a couple of miles from our house and the boys love it. It took Jace a while to warm up to the idea of getting wet, but once he got warmed up to the idea he didn't want to leave. Brett on the other hand...well, he didn't like it a whole lot.

Ohio

Last week the boys and I (yes I did go on a plane with them by myself) headed to Ohio to visit Haley my little sister. We had so much fun swimming in her pool, driving around the property on the "Rhino", going to a drive-in movie (Kung Fu Panda), travelling to the Air Force museum in Dayton, and just hanging out. The boys became great friends and Kanigh was great at sharing all of his toys. After a crazy start (Haley got a speeding ticket, I left Shane's suit case at the airport, and we hit a deer...all on the way home), the rest of the week was awesome. We loved every minute we were able to spend together and thank Haley for her hospitality! We already miss the cousins, but we don't miss the humidity.

While dad is away

While Travis was in New Mexico this week, the boys were obscessed with wearing my shoes. Every night I would put them away and every morning they would get them out again. Check out those calves!

We want to wear these to bed

I don't know what got into them, but this is what the boys wanted to wear to bed. Shane's "belt headdress" was of his own creation. Travis was starting to get a little frustrated with Shane because he was taking so long and not coming in to their room for stories and prayers, but when he came in donning this "hat" he was extremely impressed. What a bunch of weirdos.

A little hard headed

So this is what happens to you if you run into "the rock", otherwise known as Jace's head. Jace had nothing wrong. In fact, I don't even think he cried!

Mom, I'm ready for church

Shane came in at 7:00 ( we have 1:00 church) Sunday morning very proud of himself because he had gotten dressed "all by myself." I have to admit I was impressed because he had buttoned up his shirt and put his tie on (his tie is a little complicated). We were tempted to leave him dressed like this but that would've just affirmed the fact that we were total slackers as parents.

Shane's graduation

O.k. so it wasn't officially his graduation from pre-school, but it was his graduation from this year. :) They had a little program for the kids where they sang some of their favorite songs (my favorite was Skidda-ma-rink-a-dink-a-dink which he sang to me on mother's day.) They also sang a song spelling out the colors set to the music for "Bingo". He ran back to us a couple of times saying, "Did I do a good job." He did a great job and we are so proud of him!

Jace's first trip to the Emergency room!

While Trav's dad was here visiting, Jace was running around and ended up taking a header into the fireplace. It was deep enough that we decided to take him to the emergency room. Luckily Harold drove Travis so that all of us didn't have to go (Thanks Harold!). At the hospital that they went to they have a Children's Hospital which has its own emergency room so the rooms are totally geared toward kids (i.e. DVD players with movies in the rooms, books, toys etc). All in all it was a pretty uneventful visit. They Dermabonded it close, gave him a popsickle and they were on thier way. This picture is a couple of days old, but you can see that he was pretty unphased by the whole event. Hopefully this will be the last trip to the E.R....ya right!

One more picture

I didn't realize that I didn't include this picture, but I think that this is my favorite. The lady was awesome, but in this one Brett kept wanting to put his fingers in his mouth. Shane also had a "phantom foot" above his head that she digially removed....amazing what they can do. What a bunch of hams!
